Lullabies from Hell

The art is often like sloppy caricatures; there are decent moments, but it's generally just really bad. The first three stories all include (or imply) the idea of horrifying things coming about because somebody imagined them into existence, and someone with an active imagination who feels isolated from the rest of society is also a recurring idea. Chapter one was meh, chapter three was uninteresting, but chapters two and four were decently entertaining and included some pretty novel ideas. There's some unethical, and at times sociopathic, behavior; a lot of dismembered, rotting flesh and other... See full review

I saw the art on the first page and I thought to myself, "Oh my god, this is crappy," and I prepared for the worst. But the story was actually very well put together. It had a nice flow to it and I felt intrigued by Okumura. Okumura is loud and forceful, but also compassionate and wise. In fact, I wasn't sure whether the story was following Okumura or not. I mean, in a way it is, because it's telling the story of how another mother (presumably "Mama Yuu") fell in love with her at the park where they have their children play together, but Okumura isn't the protagonist.

Apparently somewhere along the line, the idea of the devil has integrated with the idea of imps in pop culture. By that I mean that the role of the devil is seen as causing petty mischief and being "evil." Personally, I prefer the portrayal of the devil found in Paradise Lost, where he's on a noble quest to fight against the tyrannical monarchy of God--he promotes democracy, free thinking, and individualism. It's epic, and at the same time relatable. I bring this up because this manga is built around angel/devil roles being subverted--with the devil acting less devil-like (i.e. acting kinder)... There are only two chapters, but I don't think the second one was pulling its weight. The first one was pretty funny--with its unexpected cruelty and twisted view of causing happiness. It's interesting how over the centuries these concepts of angels and demons/devils have solidified into distinct creature types, to the point that it feels ironic to have an "evil angel" character. 'Cause if you go back to the source material, the devil was literally an angel whose only differentiating characteristic was that he was evil. In other words, if there wasn't a pop culture idea of angels which has... See full review

I like to think of this manga as a classic. The very first of it's kind. The original block buster that they based all the spin offs on. It's sweet and charming. It has a strong  smart female heroine thats romanticly obtuse enough to drag the love confession out for 110 chapters. It has a sweet dashing gentlemen that swept the girl off her feet and goes into occasional yandere mood when his boo gets attacked. Plus the plot starts of very simple and gradually gets more and more convoluted until you don't even realize how many hours you have spent teoriesing about it. All around fluffy and fun. If you... Well this manhwa is really long. It's quite the shounen plot style with many chapters for an arc and many chapters that i felt like it was fillers. Each arcs follow the same cliche route. I found every arcs in this manhwa boring, i skipped some of them. A bunch of arcs were following the cliche romance harem shounen plot = girl is coming, some chapters to introduce her, climax of the story, end of the arc. Each arcs seemed plain and boring. Panels and discussions were just bland and seemed superficial. Characters are.. Well you have the cute rangii and the others. You have the childhood tsundere girl who... See full review

Holy sh*t!! That was great!! Although the cover is misleading, I still enjoyed it. Story: Young Ma Go-eun and her father are about to be evicted from the haunted house they've run throughout the years. But Go-eun is not about to let the park owner demolish their haunted house and her memories of her childhood and her mother. She resolves to go to the United States to surpass trials and get a million-dollar cash prize awarded to those who can survive a stay in Ghost Jack's House. My only complaint about the story would be it's slow-paced. And talk about ending with a cliffhanger, like... See full review

While on the surface this manhua may be nothing special, it is pretty revolutionary. It has a solid story, charming characters with just a bit lackluster development. Factor in a very beautiful artstyle and you come up with a very entertaining ero-manhua. While it can be just fap material, many readers might feel inclination to keep reading because the story and characters aren't dissimilar to what one would find in a regular webtoon. This makes for more a pretty entertaining read and is head and shoulders above a regular doujin in that it has appeal outside of the erotic scenes. Overall a solid read, and... See full review

Legit: if they had made this already short series just a little bit shorter and ended it after chapter two, I would have rated it as a 10/10. I thoroughly enjoyed the way they revealed the nature of the Treasures. I also liked the hard work and grit that Kashin showed, and I found the humbling character arc that Yuuko went through to be interesting. And it's not as though ending it there would interrupt anything; the manga's already split into three distinct plotlines. Chapters one and two follow Kashin and Yuuno, chapter three follows the twins Sei and Sou, and chapters four and five follow Fukko, Ageha... See full review

Crimson Karma

For some odd reason, when I think of this manga the word 'mellow' comes to mind. Perhaps it is because Crimson Karma is the exact opposite of that? Story: Kasiya Del Roman is an emotionless killing machine who, in her final moments, was thrown away like an old rag. To her own surprise, she wakes up and finds herself in a different world on the battlefield. Will she waste this chance and live just as she did before? Or will she abandon her morals and lifestyle to start anew?  One detail that I should point out is that whenever I think it's getting boring, something happens. That is... See full review

This is a manga adaptation of a BL game, which I didn’t know at first. I was surprised that it’s a BL manga because there are no BL or shounen-ai tags. The first chapters gave off some game-vibes, which was cool. Though, it might have been just me because I looked up the BL game right before I started reading. This is an adaptation of a game, so I’m guessing there is a lot more to the story than the manga is showing. It’s probably a game that has multiple routes/outcomes. I’m guessing that the manga portrays only one of those outcomes. I think that’s why some characters... See full review

He is a calm, cunning, badass mc.The other side characters are also good and well developed.I definitely recommend to read it.

I would describe this as the work of a talented but inexperienced author. Not a perfect book that leaves you thinking it's a 15/10, but a just a good, above average read. The direction of the story is good, but some parts feel hastily written and others poorly planned out. Certain scenes drag for a bit too long and others flash by in a single paragraph. There are times when exposition dumps occur, but they're more tolerable since the mc is the one testing the powers, the one researching his enemy and whatnot. The characters seem human enough. The villains of the story are very polarized, and not in a good... See full review

Starting with the story. Amazing. The idea and execution were perfect. With fantastic world-building. Each dream can be its world depending on the characters. I haven't seen this type of fantasy dreams before in BL nor have I seen a romance like this one. It flowed perfectly between reality and fantasy. At first, I wanted more of the dreamscape world at the beginning with more action because at a point in time the owner gave The Golden Crow Wheel away and the story focused more on the romance/ reality portion. Imao asked Tsuyuki out and she inadvertently rejected him, but then Imao seems to as though he's moving on from her, which makes her feel as though she's being rejected. This is true, as Berserk is not reading for people easily disturbed by violence and evil characters. This is stupid. It's built around a bait-and-switch where the entire set-up makes it seem like it's some perverted pedophile about to record sex acts with this young girl: the bed, the asking her to call him "daddy," the film only being for personal use for when the man's sad, the middle school uniform he bought for her to wear, the buying things for her in exchange, the assurance that they can stop if it gets too painful. But then, it's revealed that the situation is actually entirely different and not perverted at all. Why was the story set up this way? It doesn't create a sense of irony or... See full review

Death Is the Only Ending for the Villainess

It's very hard to find such a well though out story in a genre that is drowning in cliches. This story could have very easily gone the topical spiteful vengful Villainess route and made everyone the bad guy for the sake of the main character. Instead they went the extra mile and tried to make all the characters as 3D and realistic as possible. There interactions are always interesting to watch and there's a scence of morbid fascination that comes with the reading the story. The plot isn't exactly the most original but it honestly doesn't have to be. The author more then makes up for this with other aspects... See full review

It's just the story of somebody who's feeling overwhelmed and lonely finding comfort through sexual contact. And even though it would've easily made just as much sense for the sex to progress entirely consensually, they still felt the need to include one of them pushing the boundaries of what the other person is comfortable with and using the excuse that it's okay because "it'll make you feel good." This manga wasn't terrible or anything but, it was a little cringy. Everything from the plot to the character's was predictable. To one hint of shock factor that they tried to add in was the gay relationship and even that got kind of bland after a while. I know that's not really how they do things in this genre but I think this story would have been a lot better if it was more though out with a solid plot and condensed into a 30 to 40 chapter storyline.
