Duke Kallen de Lewelton is bloodthirsty and ruthless when it comes to killing criminals, but a total sucker when it comes to his new daughter! Peasant girl Lae learns this herself when a fateful run-in with the duke results in her adoption into the Lewelton home. Armed with a sharp mind and the knowledge from her past life, Lae makes the perfect addition to the family’s quest to quell injustice. But as the mysteries of the capital’s underbelly rise to the surface, will she and her new family withstand the return of a true criminal mastermind?
I'm only on the fourth chapter but I feel like I'll genuinely enjoy this. I'm thankful for the powers that may be for allowing me to witness this before it blossoms into something powerful. So powerful that I may one day kneel out of fear and admiration, tears streaming down my cheeks, in awe of what man can create with just imagination and courage. Also, SHEEEEEESH that father. I'll update by the 20th chapter again!Edit: Updated review - this is still as good as the vibe I got at Chapter 4. I'm currently on Chapter 40 and by god, the quality of this manga is on a different level. Not only is the art good but the way the family dotes on Leticia, the FL, is sweet and realistic. I love how they respect who she is as a person but also takes care of her by letting her act as a child. The father and the brother and all the characters are powerful in their own right. However, the story acknowledges that they aren't as omniscient as the world portrays them to be. The mysteries and challenges that they solve every now and again are set-up beautifully. They're not perfect but they are well planned and don't pull out random twists out of thin air, just to explain why things happened as they did. It's a treat to read and witness and personally, this is in my favorite father-daughter manhwas out there. Should you read it? You should've read this yesterday. The next best time is right now! Reviewed at Chapter 40.
Only at chapter 11 but i seriously love this story, and this is one where the adopted daughter doesn't end up with their brother so i feel that i will definitely enjoy.
Currently on chapter 34+ and this story is very nice to read. The og FL that was reincarnated was an actual kid as her current appearance but was able to think, deduce, and plan out well. I love the art style and how cute the FL is, I couldn't help but squeal at her little antics. The turning point from when the Father regards her as a daughter after she saved his life, was something I almost cried a bit. And I consequently cried for the street children that she had to say goodbye to. The thing that kept me from giving this full 10 was the updates. They were slow, which I don't mind for a style as nice and 'grounded' like this but it takes a toll on the story. Definitely have to read it again when there are more chapters. The detective plotline is... Hmm, okay I guess. It's mainly because of the unscheduled updates that those parts of the novel get hit the hardest, the cliffhangers lose their luster after a week. But I enjoy where the story is heading, can't wait to see more.
