When I came upon this series, it was about a year after my cat had died. This helped to cope with that fact. The premise says it's about forensic animal science, but it shows m9re heart than the premise because it's truly about coming to an understanding of animals, both domestic and wild, and especially in their final moments. We not only get to see animal on animal death, but human involved deaths, the forensic techniques, and some factoids about it. The art is good for this series, as it's not to cartoonish but palatable enough for almost anyone to pick up and read. The vibe is between melancholic and the Slice of Life because it deals with death and normal life. The characters are good, but I moreso enjoy the reveal of the animal's behavior throughout because they have agency, something not usually given to animals in other media. For me, this series is at least a must suggest because its that good, and I'll definitely pick up a copy when I can.
