This game’s got me obsessed! It’s like it’s taken over my life... wait—HARD MODE ACTIVATED. No-no-no-no-no! It has literally taken me and thrown me into the part of Penelope Eckhart. Love is easy as the heroine, but as the hated villainess, I’m trying very hard not to die… at the hands of my brothers… the prince… a fork… every possible ending is death! This world is stacked against me, but can my wits and insider game knowledge score the affection of these male characters? Or the reset button???
It's very hard to find such a well though out story in a genre that is drowning in cliches. This story could have very easily gone the topical spiteful vengful Villainess route and made everyone the bad guy for the sake of the main character. Instead they went the extra mile and tried to make all the characters as 3D and realistic as possible. There interactions are always interesting to watch and there's a scence of morbid fascination that comes with the reading the story. The plot isn't exactly the most original but it honestly doesn't have to be. The author more then makes up for this with other aspects of originality in different categories. Like how the main character's life is ruled by a gaming system and while the plot isn't new I still found it very engaging. The reason I favor the art in plain and simple. It's the nails. Nail polish has always been my kryptonite and damn if this girls nails don't make me feel weak. It's the little things like this and the cleaver personality of the main character that make me sit up and notice. Alternate name: Death Is the Only Ending for the Villainess
Out of all the isekai or reincarnation manhwa/webtoons I have read so far, this one is pretty unique. The whole game like feature in the beginning was pretty cool. I'm glad that the author doesn't just skip over how she came into the game world like a lot of others do. Lot of other webtoons just half-ass the past, but here her past background story is incorporated into her new life. It's pretty interesting so far. I can't judge the storyline completely because the translations are just getting into the main plot. I totally recommend this especially if you are into this genre. The art style is gorgeous. I am a sucker for pretty characters. Just don't be quick to judge since it gets better the more you read it. Hopefully my opinion doesn't change cuz that would be quite disappointing.
What can I say? This is amazing. You have the story of one human being, one girl being constantly mistreated, neglected and bullied by her family transmigrate into a game as the villainess who also gets bullied and has a very bad ending. Starting from there you have the typical 'try to avoid death route' scenario with all the male lead.It is hard. It is painful. It is frustrating. It is infuriating. The mc clearly suffers from trauma and has trust issues, which makes every interaction she has harder. Through every word, every conversation we can hear her thoughts and she's always choosing the best way not to die. She literally wakes up every day trying not to die. Imagine how hard it must be.I think it's a beautiful dive into the human psyche. You'll hate her family, but also in a sense understand them. You'll sometimes think she dramatizes her situation but most of the times you'll just feel sad about her. She tries, as best as she can, to hold on to the little bit of control she has over her life. Everything else is decided by her family and by the game system. The story is how these human beings will, through communicating with each other, deepen their feelings but also understand each other a bit more.I think we can all empathize with her because there has to be a time when we felt ostracized and misunderstood by family or friends. Not being able to express yourself and the others not even willing to listen to you. Frankly this is quite different from the typical villainess story. I thought it would go like usual with her being a damsel in distress and a cute back haired dude would come and save her but this story man, this story is special. It's about the character rather than the plot. and that's what makes it intriguing and beautiful.
