Okay, there is a lot to unpack. Firstly the characters, This story has a lot of strong sidekicks, like a LOT. But it's not a "I am a bad person, the whole world is after me, let's make friends." type character background. No, it feels more like we and 'The OG MC' are looking at this world through a window. We as the viewer and 'him' are simply making decisions based on the information given to us. Yes, 'she' seem to know some stuff about the world as it has a VRMMO type vibe. But it really isn't. No, she and her adviser are the irregularity to the world. While everyone (so far) is nothing like it. They are complicated characters, but as viewer they make sense. (atleast in the grand scheme of things) Then the art. Yes, it's not bad. but it isn't special. I have seen a lot better art for the given fight scenes. I wish it wasn't so one-sided though. And lastly the story. And oh boy is there a lot to say. Firstly in the beginning you are let to believe it's just another 'VRMMO i am stuck in a game' type stories. IT'S NOT! Firstly the main MC isn't trying to escape 'she' is just trying to finish what her character started and along the way pick up some of her companions. Her sidekicks are based on the zodiac and thus are representing them. With the whole story basically mostly based on their stories and what happened to them. (you will know what I mean when you read it) And then the story main focus on stopping the goal of whoever this 'Goddess' is. So a last summary: On the surface it looks simple. But it's very deep if you can read below the lines. The characters are a bit different then normally, as such they don't hate humans nor other creatures. Unless agitated. They are not the cliché: "I am evil seen by the world, so I do evil based on my previous actions." And although the art is average. If you like this type of story. Please go read it!

I started to read this as an isekai with twist of character transported as opposite sex, but then from what initially seemed as another somewhat average future mmorpg isekai, became gradually pretty darn good isekai with interesting story. The gender bender aspect is pretty mild more in the background. Basically, it's pretty similar to the Overlord series, but it has actually meaningful main story arc. You can’t say that the stuff happening in Overlord had some larger objective in mind [1]. In all seriousness this series at the least attempts to explore ideas usually merely taken as given in other isekai series [2]. What I’m looking forward to in this series is when the ensemble of MC’s servants is gathered and the real objective and main antagonist comes out of hiding. After dozens of chapters, six volumes to be precise, this gathering arc, even if the greater scheme of things is increasingly shown in the story, is still incomplete. Especially in the beginning the story is deceptively simple on the surface. Continuing analogy with Overlord series. MC is really overpowered, but unlike in the Overlord, there are real threats [3] especially the one, who is hinted as main antagonist. When it comes to the world building the Overlord presents a different world, where Nazarick (MC’s base) is transported. The game world and mechanics, even if working, they are introduced as foreign element. In this series the world is same. It’s a continuation of the story from the game, but it’s not the same world exactly either. It’s similar, but there are differences. What I also appreciate is not to be flooded with game-like mechanics. There are many series, where panels are walls of skill descriptions, etc. The amount of in-game mechanics information is on normal levels. Characters are pretty much shounen. I like the fact even the daemon lord side is not just one-dimensional evil. Even on the opposite side there are characters that are doing the best within the settings they are in. Parallel to the gathering arc is dealing with the past arc for the great heroes. For my taste it’s bit simplistic imho. Art is pretty decent. It’s far from the best out there, but it is good. I have no problem with it. Japanese difficulty 5/10 (see my profile for details about various difficulty scores) The manga doesn’t have furigana and sometimes throws at you bit difficult words. Especially in the stiff way the MC is speaking in his game character. I would still classify this is as average non-simplified Japanese level in manga. It isn’t suitable for beginners, but JLPT N3 or even better N2 should be able to with some struggling make it through. Overall, I do recommend it. If you enjoy OP characters with earth shattering powers and game/fantasy series like Overlord it’s pretty enjoyable in my opinion. Note: this review is written after reading 7 volumes of the series. Spoilers [1] Speaking of main objective. It was conquering world at best, but even then, for the point of MC it was mere accident and the story-line was series of various mini-arcs either for world building excused as strengthening Nazarick or expanding influence. Basically, either having random adventures or building main base of operations. [2] Machinations and scheming of god, who transported the MC. Having thrown into mix another character transported as hero and making him actually to deal with presumptions and prejudices of people, which summoned him. Lastly what happened to the original consciences occupying the body. [3] Daemon lord, Dragons and the goddess.
