The Helpful Fox Senko-san

Jun 29, 2019

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers-
The Helpful Fox Senko-san is an adorably wholesome series, following the lives of Nakano and Senko in Senko's quest to rid Nakano of his darkness that dwells inside him. It's a basic plot that makes you want to be pampered by your own kitsune, a cute, light and very floofy series that was fun to watch.
STORY
During the series there was a simple storyline running through, looking at Senko and Nakano's relationship develop as well as looking into their pasts. However, I wouldn't say it was the strongest part of the series, most of the series I felt just... See full review

Cosmic Fantasy: Ginga Me Hyou no Wana

Apr 7, 2019

Warning this review may contain spoilers - So this review is for the 90's OVA Cosmic Fantasy: Ginga Me Hyou no Wana, an OVA that is based off a video game that I'm pretty sure I've never heard of and I'm also sure that this anime didn't give me might insight to what it was all about. The OVA itself was pretty bad all around, not absolutely unwatchable but pretty bad and I do think the fact that the fansubs version I watched really helped me through it (as well as watching it as part of a DTAB group). STORY It was alright, typical sort of story when you have a group of people again a villain... See full review

As Miss Beelzebub Likes It.

Mar 15, 2019

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers:
'As Miss Beelzebub Likes' is a cute little series that follows the daily life of Miss Beelzebub and her assistant, Mullin. Going into this series I didn't have very high expectations and was only wanting to watch it for something light and fluffy, and let's just say it reach that expectation of being light and fluffy very early on.
STORY
The series heavily relied on short cute and funny segments with a slowly developing romance subplot between multiple of the characters. Even though this subplot didn't develop as much as some may hope, it was a nice... See full review

Real Girl

Jun 26, 2018

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers - From the studio who blessed us with titles such as Rescue Me!, comes one of the blandest romance anime out there. Featuring a generic storyline, cardboard cutout characters and the worse consistency with animation I've seen for a while (which has been a while due to the lack of me watching things lately). So it's been a while since I last wrote a review, so I'm a little rusty but here we go.
STORY
To start, the plot has a major flaw, it's boring. It follows a generic style and just drags out each scenario which causes it to be easy predicted. There's... See full review

Mysterious Girlfriend X

Dec 24, 2017

Warning this review may contain spoilers- So this anime is weird, that's for sure but it is a good weird that investigates the strange side of a relationship that you don't normally get to see in a lot of high school romance anime. This anime was like a breath of fresh air where the premise is good and I ended it on not regretting picking this up.  STORY The story is minimal and tends to just follow the lives of our unlikely couple, being a character heavy show you can see how much it depends on the personalities of these characters. The events that happened are dependant on the events are how... See full review

Battery

Sep 6, 2017

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers –
Oh dear, what a train wreck this turned out to be. So the NoitamaA time slot has brought us a sports show about baseball whilst also taking in some darker issues surrounding rivalries and the main protagonist who is just completely unpleasant to anyone he even interacts with, which then leads to melodramatic issues and creating a problem where eventually the whole team ends up being unlikeable. To me, this show tried its best to be things such as Haikyuu or Free by adding all the over the top drama around a specific sport but crashed into something that... See full review

Bunny Drop

Sep 6, 2017

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers –
I have a weakness to anything that involves a good slice of life story, it never bothers me that they are slow and drag out a bit much because I know that is what they are supposed to do, with little progression. I believe this describes ‘Usagi Drop’ quite well, as it is a slow plod through a story with pretty much no story progression but focus’ more on the character driven aspects. This show was just all the cuteness you need to one bundle from the interactions between characters to the heartfelt moments. (Please note that at the time... See full review

Your lie in April

Sep 3, 2017

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers- So this was an anime I have been meaning to pick up for a while, just because I have heard so much about it. Both good and bad, but my personal opinion on it sits somewhere in the middle. This show for me was neither good or bad but rather average, well just over. I have a weak spot for slightly Cliche shows and any shows that involve a load of music so this show is exactly that. Now onto the actual review. STORY The story itself is quite repetitive, where Kousei ends up having a mental breakdown while playing but somehow gets pulled back. This happened every few... See full review

Mushishi: Hihamukage

Jun 19, 2017

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers- Oh, Mushishi, one of the anime that stand above the rest in the slow and steady category. This special was no different, taking what we love from the series and putting it into the form of an anime, this allows people who haven't seen the original anime to experience the feeling you get from the Mushishi anime.  STORY The story of the special was extremely detailed and focused a lot of human relationships and the emotional value between each. It helps us understand the pain of being kept indoors and the struggle to get through everyday life, this special... See full review

Miss Monochrome

Jun 15, 2017

Warning this review may contain spoilers -  A light series following a girl who wants to be an idol, the only problem is she is a robot and isn't the smartest. Miss Monochrome is a unique character who is more than oblivious to the world surrounding her. This is a short anime so don't expect much, because this anime is lacking substance other than the animation and the sound.  STORY There is no story, we see this extremely often in these sorts of programmes but causes the series it lack in a serious section. Although I understand that short anime cannot produce a lot of story due to the short... See full review

Urara Meirochou

Apr 17, 2017

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers-  Well we entered the Winter 2017 season and what better way to start it with, another cute girls do cute things show. Nothing can go wrong with that style of show and it definatly won't become boring after a while...absolutely not. Anyway I'll be serious now, this is another one of them shows that are passable but the trope is slowly getting boring but despite all this I ended up watching it. Hagane Orchestra

Jan 14, 2017

Warning this review may contain spoilers- Okay so I'll start off with being honest, this was terrible. My only motivation to watch it was the fact that one of my favourite vocaloids was appearing in episode 8 but in a way it surprised me. It lived up to it's purpose, to promote a mobile game and there isn't to complain about there, the things it did wrong was pretty much everything else. Including quite bland characters, basic animation and a story that was far from making sense. STORY So it is clear that this kind of series wasn't supposed to contain any story worth-while for any type of audience, it... See full review

Three Leaves, Three Colors

Jul 10, 2016

Warning this review may contain spoilers- So this is another Spring 2016 review. This here is another cute girls do cute things anime but it is worth checking out, this has to be one of my favourites of this season and it would be pretty stupid if I didn’t try and explain why I think this is much more than just another moe show that is just a copycat of others. STORY The pacing was spot on, at no point did I ever feel bored or was wondering whether I should carry on this series due to pacing. The story didn’t really have a structure other than it was in chronological order throughout a year... See full review

Bungo Stray Dogs

Jul 10, 2016

Warning this Review may contain spoilers xx So another review for the spring 2016 anime, this time for a pretty popular show known as Bungou Stray Dogs. It follows the story of Atsushi who gets caught up in the world of the supernatural and ends up joining an agency based on his own certain supernatural power that is explained in episode 1, if you like Blood Bloodade Battlefront then this is pretty much the same thing (But BBB does it quite a bit better). The main thing wrong with this series is the story layout and pacing which will be explained in this review, enjoy xx STORY It was rushed and muddled... See full review

My Hero Academia

Jun 27, 2016

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers- *Sigh* This series doesn't deserve the amount of hate it gets for being a superhero anime, I just want to say that yeah this is another superhero anime but it is still good, please don't get put off because of the theme as it is really good. And I've also had enough of people saying it's a rip-off of this series or that series, I enjoyed it and I think it is worth it. So this is about a world where everyone has superpowers (known as quirks) but our main character is part of the small percentage that doesn't but still wants to become a hero. Jun 23, 2016

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers- Time for a Spring 2016 anime review and really this was one of the most underrated series of the season, yeah at first you are probably under the impression that this is another cute girls do stuff and that is pretty much what it is but it is worth watching. So it follows a group of girls who are really unlucky doing things that is suppsed to improve their karma but it doesn't really go to plan. Ketsuekigata-kun!

Jun 19, 2016

Warning this Review may contain spoilers- Who knew that I would rate a short series above average (5 being average for me XD) but honestly this series made me laugh at how stupid it was, this was a short show about different blood types being faced with tasks and how each react. Sadly I couldn't relate to any because I couldn't remember my blood type...but to be honest I could be any of them XD STORY The story was limited, however it was good. People may see this as a series with only 2 minute episodes and would be instantly put off but if you like short comedies then this would be a good one to try. I... See full review

She and Her Cat: Everything Flows

Apr 10, 2016

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers Ah, this anime made me want to cry like a little girl again but anyway this is my review for She and Her Cat: Everything Flows. It follows the story of Girl and Daru (her cat) in their little life together, through thick and thing, apparently this is based off a 5 minute short anime which I need to check out soon :3 STORY The story is limited, due to it still being a short anime but this had so much character development for the girl and the fact it is in Daru's view makes it so unique and honestly I really enjoyed it. This was definitely a show that everyone wouldn't shut up about and honestly I can see why they wouldn't, to me it was good but not my type of anime. STORY The story was good, the pacing was good up until the end and it overall was very consistant in what it was producing. KonoSuba – God's blessing on this wonderful world!

Apr 10, 2016

Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers Ahh another one of my fabulous reviews, this time it's for Konosuba a 2016 anime which caught be by surprised, even though it isn't a series one I felt myself enjoying it so much and it makes me happy to say that I'll probably enjoy writing this as well. So this really is just a bit of fun from the start, guy dies in stupid way and ends up in a fantasy world where it's all like an MMO as a way of him being reborn. Honestly this wasn't bad but it wasn't much more than average, enjoyable but still was missing some elements which are quite important such as it has a slow start which would put people off. Hans Christian Anderson's The Little Mermaid

Warning this may contain spoilers- Who doesn't like a traditional fairy tale, well this movie is based on the well known story of the little mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen and yeah it may not be like the Disney version so many people have grown to love there were some good aspects of it. STORY Yeah the basic story is just like the original, our female mermaid falls in love with the prince of the story and she has to sacrifice something so she can be with him. I thought it was quite well paced overall but did get a bit slow in the middle which would of put some people off, and it didn't help that the... See full review

STORY It was a basic romance school story, but it was all over with so quickly it was just ehhhh. It was kind of all over the place and just seemed off. This anime was an Anime Mirai projec and it was really good, it is a short that anyone can watch and hopefully enjoy. STORY I can't lie, the start  was pretty slow and started to get boring, it wasn't until around 10 minutes in that things started picking up.
