There’s a special shop in the town of Meirochou. In this shop, girls from all over the country arrive to learn the art of fortune telling. Their dream: to become the top fortune teller, the Urara. One day, fifteen-year-old Chiya enters the town, and, unlike the others, she comes to town with another purpose besides becoming the Urara. Together with her fellow apprentices, Chiya, and the girls find themselves treading into a future none of them could have foreseen!
*Overall this is a very chill anime and everything in the anime enhances this relaxed feeling from the animation and the characters to the overall storyline. Seeing the girls progress as fortune tellers with all the misunderstandings and hilarious skits made UM a fun anime to watch. And it’s especially fun to watch if you’re a fan of moe anime’s. Every character in UR is female each being more cute and moe than the previous. *But unfortunately the moe characters couldn't fill the hole that I fell when it came to the story. Following their daily lives and their progress is fun but I was expecting to see more development when it came to Chiya’s mother. By the end of this anime we know very little about Chiya’s mother or the special divining ability that Chiya possesses. I remember that I said in my First Impressions of UR that I could see some potential drama when it came to Chiya’s mother. So there I was a bit disappointed but hey the anime wanted to take the fun, moe path instead of the more dramatic path. Conclusion So as a conclusion, as I said UM isn’t a super special anime but rather a very relaxing and fun anime that you would end your evening with. So overall I‘m going to give Urara Meirochou a moderate rating of 3 stars. This isn’t the biggest recommendation that I will ever make especially since this anime is far from complete. First episode review Urara Meirochou is a show about girls or rather a city where girls come to train as fortune tellers. Our MC, a lively character type, lived in a wild for god knows how long, she got an invitation to train as Urara (fortune teller) but mainly came to the city to find her mother. Story almost worth a disney's sign of approval. But... With her comes forced and stupid fanservice. To invoke a pheromone inducing scene she somehow somewhere learned that to apologize she has to show her bellySide note: Stomach area in japan is all the way to under-nipple areaWhich could've been easily looked over... but......after learning that it is NOT the proper way to apologize, she then proceeds to force her beliefs (or bellyefs) upon other people clearly being aware that it is a perverted act like in <insert any ecchi bathroom scene> where one perky girl tries to measure her friend. Other than that and meeting 3 generic girl types, the show is cute and also entertaining as the anime shows and will show many other ways of fortune telling and other traditional clairvoyances. But if it will continue to feed us the same amount of bullshittery throughout the 3 episode rule I'll be sure to drop it.
