Rent-A-Girlfriend

Oct 4, 2020

Intro I was not intending on writing a review for Rent-A-Girlfriend, but many of the other reviews up to the time in which I published this review make it out to be one of the worst anime imaginable. That is simply not the case. However, please note that this review is currently through episode eight only. I will have to see how the remainder of the series turns out and update my review accordingly. Story (15 points)
The anime is primarily about the near spineless, no guts, lying and self-loathing male main character, Kazuya Kinoshita. He is a college student who recently experienced his first... See full review

No-Rin

Aug 10, 2020

I enjoyed making this review a little more than usual. I do not know why, per say, I just did. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did in writing it. Story:  3/30 The opening Idol musical number, sung by the lovely Jād Saxton, sets the perfect atmosphere for an anime about farming. As you witness the CG crowd going crazy over Yuka Kusakabe’s energetic performance, it is difficult to not think about all the agricultural cultivating methods we are about to learn. After all, Japanese idols are all about farming? Huh? What am I writing? That’s... See full review

Aria the Scarlet Ammo: The Butei Come and Train at a Hot Spring

Jul 1, 2020

Oh, how interesting Aria the Scarlet Ammo could’ve been had it reduced the length of the TV series and increased the length of its OVA, since the one-episode OVA is better than the entire 12-episode series. The story takes place at a secluded mountain hot spring where the Butei students’ teacher, Miss Umeko Tsuzuri, intends on a special training camp for her select students from her class; more specifically, most of the main and secondary... DISCLAIMER:  If you're watching this with the intentions of finding an in-depth story of accurate, nonfictional World War II events, then STOP! Read no further! This anime is not for you! However, if you're watching this for some cute (and hot) looking Anthropomorphic ships fighting each other, then this IS the anime for you! Harukana Receive

Apr 13, 2020

Story:  6/10 The basic premise begins with a girl named Haruka, who happens to move to the heavily beached, ocean-sided Okinawa to live with her cousin, Kanata, and their grandparents. It is where Haruka discovers beach volleyball for the very first time and ends up falling in love with it. Her desire to learn, work, play, and have fun with it drives Kanata to get back into playing herself, even through all of her tribulations and self-doubts. Eventually, she ends up teaching Haruka the game along side a few fellow players in Twin Thomas sisters, Claire and Emily. Together, they form the... See full review

The Testament of Sister New Devil

Apr 11, 2020

Story:  3/10 It's your typical standard fare where the supposedly über-powerful demon king dies and his attractive, well-endowed teenage daughter, Mio, needs to be taken care of and protected, which in this case is by a human man, Jin Toujo, and his teenage son, Basara. Both he and his dad belong to a guild-like group known as the Hero Clan consisting of humans... See full review

Interviews with Monster Girls

Jan 4, 2020

Story:  8/10 Simple, sweet, and with a touch of unique. In following with the same “unique” twist of my own, the secondary premise is about a world where both humans and nonhumans (i.e. vampires, succubae, etc.), coexist together peacefully. There are only a select few nonhumans, or demi-humans (D-humans) in the world, but what adds a flavor of intrigue is the fact that a normal human couple can randomly create and give birth to a D-human baby. It sounds unorthodox, but it’s a rather interesting and different twist on D-humans. The main premise is about a high school teacher named... See full review

After School Dice Club

Dec 20, 2019

STORY: 4/10 This lighthearted story is about three unlikely friends, Midori (the determined one), Aya (the Eternal Optimist) and Miki (the Shy one), who form their bond of friendship through unlikely means…games! One day late after school, Aya and Miki somehow find their way into this little gaming shop owned by a large man named Takeru. Intimidating to the girls at first, things change when they find out that Midori works part-time at this particular establishment. Shortly thereafter, they realize that they are in a magical place of various board and card games. From here, the plot centers mainly... See full review

Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?

Sep 18, 2019

When Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks? was originally announced, it sounded like it could have potential to be something off-key, but refreshing as well. That ended up not being the case. It's your typical, mundane Isekai anime except with an overpowered, slightly oblivious MILF with Huge Breasts, Mamako Oosuki, as the main... See full review

The Asterisk War

Aug 7, 2019

First and foremost, please note that this review is currently for both The Asterisk War and The Asterisk War (2016) with certain ratings being averaged out between the two seasons. Story:  3/10
TAW:  4/10
TAW (2016):  2/10 The Asterisk War (TAW) is the telling of a very clichéd story set in the future in which humankind suffered a global disaster at the hands of a meteor. Many large cities were completely decimated as a result. However, due to a substance called mana, which came from said meteor... See full review

Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers

Jul 30, 2019

For this review, I have included highlights of the PROS and CONS at the end. STORY:  6/10 It’s about a journey of six warriors called the Braves of Six Flowers. They happen to be randomly selected, strong, talented people who receive special abilities bestowed upon them by the Goddess of Fate. They exist only to defeat the re-resurrected Demon God who rules over creatures known as fiends, but who desires to rule over fiends and humans alike. STORY:  4/10 In a non-Post-apocalyptic future, humanity has come to discover creatures known as "phantoms," which are essentially figments of people's imaginations made into reality. They can be monstrous creatures with ill intentions, or simply harmless ones that are looking to fulfill a wish before being sealed away, which is a lot alike crossing over into the afterlife. Kiddy Grade

Jun 3, 2019

This is one of the earliest anime I’d seen back before I got into anime as much as I have over the course of the last few years. Where I live, we had a FYE store that closed in 2011. However, before it did, I had perused the store several times keeping an eye on any too-good-too-pass-up deals. The eight-disc DVD set of Kiddy Grade just happened to be one such deal. STORY The timeline is in a futuristic universe where humans have expanded and inhabited a vast number of different planets. Alongside expanding the populace, technology too has significantly advanced, which means increasing crime along... See full review

Fight League: Gear Gadget Generators

Mar 26, 2019

Intro: This is a simple review of Fight League: Gear Gadget Generators that is intended on giving a brief idea of what to expect when watching this. Story: Uh...futuristic fighting with mechanical gadgets? Honestly, there is no truly defined plot or purpose of what's going on from episode to episode. Most often it's just another challenger for the Boltechs to have to battle in the GGG Cup Tournament. Only after about a dozen episodes or so do the writers attempt to throw some actual plot with substance into the storyline. One can appreciate the effort and the change is welcomed, but the results are still... See full review

Rail Wars!

Jan 13, 2019

Rail wars! is the kind of T&A show that actually could have two meanings, depending on how you look at it. It's either Tits & Ass or Trains & Ass. However, no matter the perspective it certainly does contain some luscious female anime ass in it. The main story is about four high school students entering the OJT program in order to become future employees of the Japanese National Railways, or JNR. The program has various departments and classes for students to learn about the many jobs available at the JNR. Thus begins the story of ... See full review

Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya

Jan 11, 2019

First, let me start by letting you in on a little secret...Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya is my first Magical Girl anime that I've ever seen, excluding Sailor Moon (which I saw eons ago) and My-HiME (since I don't see that as a true magical girl anime), so I did not know quite what to expect going into it. Ulysses: Jeanne d'Arc and the Alchemist Knight

Nov 11, 2018

Introduction: In unique fashion, here's a modified snippet from Elizabeth Barrett Browning's Sonnet 43 for your personal enjoyment. It is the best way I can capture the pure essence of this show: "Oh Anime Lottery Game, how do I love thee?
Let me count the ways you have *BLEEP*ed me over this time 'round.

For being forced to endure this God-awful show!" If you haven't guessed it, Ulysses: Jeanne d'Arc and the Alchemist Knight was my random selection for the masochistic pleasure known as... See full review

WARNING: THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SOME CONTROVERSIAL SUBJECT MATTER. READER'S DISCRECTION IS ADVISED. This is a SPOILER FREE review. Intro: As a character moderator (in training for the second season), Goblin Slayer is the title I personally claimed for the Fall 2018 season. I had no idea that not only would it be as good as it is, but as controversial as well. To cut right to the chase with the one word that sums up most of the controversy, and that is rape. Yamada's First Time: B Gata H Kei

Nov 5, 2018

B Gata H Kei is an anime that does not get enough credit and notoriety for what it is...which is one absolutely hilarious Ecchi anime! Story: 15-year old Yamada is obsessed with having sex with 100 guys, that's right 100, before graduating from high school. Why exactly!? Who the heck knows! Grand Blue

Oct 2, 2018

I was looking for a newer anime that featured Comedy and Ecchi that I could stream without commercials. That is how I came to watching Grand Blue. Armed Girl’s Machiavellism

Sep 27, 2018

INTRO I normally do not right that many reviews, but lately I have been compelled to do so. Armed Girl's Machiavellism is no different, especially since I think it's important to know that the anime is quite clichéd and mundane when it comes to plot. However, the fighting scenes are quite enjoyable. If that's what you're looking for going into this series, then there is a good chance you won't be disappointed. eX-Driver Danger Zone

Sep 18, 2018

I'll make this review short and bitter because that's what this OVA is; it's bitter to watch, bitter to understand, and just plain bitter if you haven't seen the original eX-Driver OVA series. This separate side-story OVA is about two of the main characters (MC's) from the original, Nina and Rei, who are in hot pursuit to stop a miniature AI-controlled car that just so happens to be a replica of what they drive. The near complete disconnect from the viewer's perspective is quite apparent, just like I wrote about in ... See full review
