The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil

Mar 29, 2024

|| Short Review ||
Story & Characters The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil is a Winter 2024 anime that I got to moderate for anime‿planet. It is about a demon, Akutsu Masatora, and an angel, Lily Amane, who find themselves in a surprising non-dating relationship with each other due to their individual missions. There is a war raging on in hell between demons and the invading angels from heaven. Akutsu travels to earth to find a leader who can motivate the lazy demons, whereas Lily is on earth to exorcise as many as she can find. Coincidentally, they both transfer to the same high school... Princess Principal Picture Drama

Sep 1, 2023

After watching this immediately after watching the original series in which I enjoyed watching amidst its flaws, these little shorts are abysmal at best. I struggled to get through each episode, and they were only four freaking minutes long! Plus, they added no value whatsoever to the plot of the series’ story. With that being said, if you thought the original series was sporadic in its episode placement and how they fit together with cohesion and purpose, then this will blow your mind. It was pointless, tiresome, and a real chore to complete, even at just a meager few minutes in length per... See full review

Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 3

Aug 19, 2023

Think of this as a mid-season compilation of thoughts formulated into somewhat of an evolving review as the season moves along to its climactic conclusion. I hope it is informative, enlightening, and that you enjoy it. For recapping purposes, see my reviews of Rent-a-Girlfriend and Season 2 to see how things have progressed or regressed. Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku

Jun 26, 2023

Story & Characters
Is Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku ("HPJ") one of the more entertaining shows of the Spring 2023 season? Yes, it sure can be quite entertaining, as long as you do not take its idiocy and complete absurdity into consideration. No joking. I am quite entertained when viewing each episode, as long as I do not think about the realities of what is going on because if I do, then I realize that so many things just do not make sense. The most basic overarching story is clearly defined—send criminals on a dangerous mission to retrieve a rumored elixir of immortality. After... See full review

Cinderella Nine Episode 13

Jun 23, 2023

I originally wanted to write a review for the main Cinderella Nine anime series, but never got around to completing. So after discovering that there is a supplemental episode, I decided to finally watch it and write a quick review of it. There will be some minor topic points mentioned from the series, but the ratings and overall comments in this review are based upon Episode 13 only. Story & Characters The story takes place sometime after the ending of the series. It seems distantly connected to its... See full review

D4DJ First Mix

Feb 24, 2023

Story Our story begins with the transfer student, Rinku Aimoto, freshly arriving from living abroad on a jungle island in Africa due to her parents both working professionally in the biological sciences. She makes a memorable first impression when on her very first day of school she not only arrives late but arrives at the wrong class! Is she embarrassed by this, no! Why? Because almost immediately afterwards we learn that she is a hyperactive, always positive, blunt, and never embarrassed individual, who also happens to love music. Later that day at lunch, a song gets played that reminds her of her... See full review

Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!?

Feb 10, 2023

Story: 3 points There are some small spoilers and adult verbage being used, but nothing that will ruin the obscene, and highly disappointing hentai, err, I mean anime experience of Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!? In a nutshell, the story revolves around four students being liked by and hooking up with their teachers, without actually “hooking up” with them 😉; though they might as well have done so with the treasures they discover, meaning, they all get the privilege of seeing their teachers up close and personal, in every freaking episode (“Period”)! Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 2

Aug 5, 2022

Intro I originally wrote this as a preliminary review of Rent-A-Girlfriend 2 and updated it as the season progressed. I made references to my review of the first season since this is a direct continuation of it. Now that it has ended and I have finished watching it in its entirety, I have decided to overhaul this review and write it completely, thoroughly, and without reservation. Story For a direct continuation of the mightily cliff-hangered first season, Rent-A-Girlfriend 2 must make it clear the... See full review

Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It. r=1-sinθ

Jun 20, 2022

INTRO This review will be a little less detailed, more simplified version compared to many of my reviews, especially since it is of the second season without any anime review of the first season. However, it will include comments and references to the first season. STORY: 15 points Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It. r=1-sinθ is the continuation of the two unhinged scientists from the Ikeda Lab at the prestigious Saitama University, Ayumi and Shinya, using advanced scientific and mathematical based theorems to research and prove their obvious love for each other, and whether or... Akebi's Sailor Uniform

Mar 8, 2022

First and foremost, Akebi's Sailor Uniform is NOT "Deceptive advertising! A foot fetish ecchi about middle school girls!" That is a false, skewed statement. I do not typically point out another individual's opinion, since we are all entitled to our own views, but in this case, I will make an exception due to its misguided nature. If you came here expecting to find an ... Love Live! School Idol Project

Jan 11, 2022

Before continuing, please note that this review covers both Love Live! School Idol Project and Love Live! School Idol Project 2nd Season. The individual season scores have been broken down and combined to create a single review score for both seasons. Story: It is only recently I have shown an interest in idol-themed anime series beginning with AKB0048, AKB0048: Next Stage, Idoly Pride, and now the Love Live! School Idol Project series with the latter being highly recommend to me by a few other fans of the genre. Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro

Oct 7, 2021

Intro: The last two years in anime have been rough from the mounting delays to a flood of shows suddenly being released all in the same season, to a varying scale of future uncertainty. Whatever the reason, I feel as though watchers and enthusiasts of the medium are losing sight of one significant concept, which is that anime is just entertainment through creative expression. I have almost had to come to the defense of many of the artistic works that have been released in 2020/21 by writing reviews of select anime that I normally would not have. Don't Toy With Me, Miss... Shomin Sample

Sep 27, 2021

Story: 9 points To be blunt, Shomin Sample is your typical trope-loaded anime about your everyday teenage boy’s wet dream of attending an all-girls school full of wealthy, cute, clueless teenage girls who all happen to fawn over this perfectly average teenage commoner. Kimito, a commoner god in the eyes of these reality-disconnected teenage girls, gets enrolled against his will into the Seikain Girls Academy, a hidden school surrounded by mountains. As the only male figure on the campus, he is selected to be the one who teaches these sweet, bumbling, wealthy teenage heiresses about life outside of... See full review

TAMAYOMI: The Baseball Girls

Sep 13, 2021

Hi baseball fans. Here is a detailed review of TAMAYOMI: The Baseball Girls. It is an underwhelming, low-rated anime that overachieved itself. Story: 15 points The story follows Yomi Takeda (a pitcher), Tamaki Yamazaki (a catcher), and the suspended baseball club at Shin Koshigaya High School (HS). The two girls are childhood friends who spent countless days playing catch and throw with each other before going their separate ways in middle school. One the first day of their new HS lives they suddenly and unexpectedly reunite. Yomi is so overjoyed that they decide to play some catch after school on the HS... See full review

Infinite Stratos

Story: 9 points Ladies and gentlemen, men, women, and all others. Prepare yourselves for what will surely be the most fun part I write in this review of Infinite Stratos (IS). Get ready to embark on a journey to the near distant future, where a wacky super genius with Rabbit Ears and lovely lady lumps is the great Inventor of these self-titled (IS) Mecha units. These manned machines, well actually, let me accurately re-state that last statement. These (wo)manned machines will revolutionize the world on a global scale, bringing peace and prosperity to all nations of the Earth! Ah forget it…this is... See full review

Katana Maidens: Toji no Miko

Jan 20, 2021

Intro Before I begin this review, you, the reader, need to know upfront that there might be some noticeable bias on my part as it relates to Katana Maidens: Toji no Miko. The reason for that is simply because I have a personal interest and fascination in the construction, usage, art, etc. of both Japanese swords and swordsmanship. Story: 12/30 points When I first noticed this anime and saw its less than stellar rating of barely ⭐⭐⭐ (exactly 3.037 numerically out of 1,342 votes at the time of this published review), I just scoffed at the idea of watching this. How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?

Jan 8, 2021

Story: 12/30 How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? is a breath of fresh air since it is an anime that is geared around working out and exercising, eating right, and taking care of your body and mind. It is an anime that takes the exercises it promotes seriously, but takes the non-exercising aspects not overly seriously, which improve its overall enjoyability. A "supposedly" flabby girl in Hibiki Sakura is looking to shed some of her extra chunk in which I found it difficult to locate, unless of course you... See full review

Rent-a-Girlfriend

Oct 4, 2020

Intro I was not intending on writing a review for Rent-A-Girlfriend, but many of the other reviews up to the time in which I published this review make it out to be one of the worst anime imaginable. That is simply not the case. After watching season one in full, here is my review. Story (15 points)
The anime is primarily about the near spineless, no guts, lying and self-loathing male main character, Kazuya Kinoshita. He is a college student who recently experienced his first girlfriend by way of the pretty-faced, nasty attituded, depraved, self-centered b**ch, Mami, who happened to be... See full review

Blue Gender

Sep 12, 2020

Intro My Blue Gender review took me a long time to fully complete and many months after I had originally finished the anime, so please keep that in mind, and understand that portions of this review maybe shorter than normal for that reason. Story This anime takes place in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic Earth where humans no longer inhabit the planet and are forced to reside in space. This is all due to the discovery of an unknown, incurable disease that effects human B-cell growth. Decades later, humanity eventually returns from Earth’s orbit to try and recover and awaken certain people... See full review

No-Rin

Aug 10, 2020

Story:  6/30 The opening Idol musical number, sung by the lovely Jād Saxton, sets the perfect atmosphere for an anime about farming. As you witness the CG crowd going crazy over Yuka Kusakabe’s energetic performance, it is difficult to not think about all the agricultural cultivating methods we are about to learn. After all, Japanese idols are all about farming? Huh? What am I writing? That’s right folks! Aria the Scarlet Ammo: The Butei Come and Train at a Hot Spring

Jul 1, 2020

Oh, how interesting Aria the Scarlet Ammo could’ve been had it reduced the length of the TV series and increased the length of its OVA, since the one-episode OVA is better than the entire 12-episode series. Interviews with Monster Girls

Jan 4, 2020

Story:  8/10 Simple, sweet, and with a touch of unique. In following with the same “unique” twist of my own, the secondary premise is about a world where both humans and nonhumans (i.e. vampires, succubae, etc.), coexist together peacefully. There are only a select few nonhumans, or demi-humans (D-humans) in the world, but what adds a flavor of intrigue is the fact that a normal human couple can randomly create and give birth to a D-human baby. It sounds unorthodox, but it’s a rather interesting and different twist on D-humans. The main premise is about a high school teacher named... See full review
