If you're looking for anime similar to Another, you might like these titles.
Maebara Keiichi, an ordinary high-school boy, has transferred to a new school in Hinamizawa, a small rural village. At the outset everything seems peaceful and Keiichi becomes friends with a nice group of schoolgirls with whom he spends many idle summer afternoons. Suddenly violence encroaches upon the blissful peace of the village and Keiichi becomes entangled in an endless cycle of fear and death. The inconsistent, but inevitable horrors of Hinamizawa are told and retold becoming an endless and inescapable nightmare of insanity. Will it end even if the mystery of Hinamizawa is solved?
They're both horror genre animes. A kid comes to a different town and weird things start happening. I'd say they are pretty similar in ways.
Higurashi and Another have the common ground of a secret all the kids are hiding for the newer boy while mysterious deaths start happening. They both share the combination of mystery, tragic pasts, and horror - with a helping a gore on top.
They are both horror, and a new kid comes to town and everyone hides a creepy secret from him until he starts investigating on his own
Love getting freaked out and scared half to death? Enjoy more than your average generic show?
Definitely watch these
they are so much alike but i personally think another is better. they both have to do with small towns. In both a new boy comes to a new place. it all has to do with why are people dying and what is wrong with their friends. They both have the mystery of who the people around them really are.
Very Similar Stories involving Supernatural events in a small rural town. Both involve high schoolers dealing with the everyday and the unatural. Both have a fairly large amount of gore and darker scenes and subjects.
Both main characters are very similar, Keiichi, and Kouchi has tranfrerred to a new village and new scholl. Higurashi and Another have mysterious atmosphere.
Both seems to succeed in being a good horror anime. Higurashi is more confusing (especially if you do not know about it originally being a visual novel).
If you liked higurashi you will probably like Another but the other way around is not necessarily true. With time, I have learned that Higurashi is not for everyone even though I liked it myself
The main character moves to another town and goes to a new school when suddenly deaths are occuring. The plot is also very similar. If you liked one of them you'd probably also like the other. Though I must say that Higurashi has more gore in it and Another has a lot more of that horror feeling to it.
Both are mystery/horror animes which are surrounded by mysterious circumstances that leaves you wondering what is really going on. People die in unusual ways as everything slowly goes out of control and people get a little crazy.
Though Another lacks the harem and potential switch-up of possible perpetrators in the blood baths that Higurashi seem to overflow with as the focus of the story, it is still has the basic principle that Higurashi shares: A boy who has a seemingly insignificant connection to the town he just moves into seems to be the thread that binds his fate of possible death or worse; both the main characters comes across a deep dark secret that the supporting cast (supp. cast being the girls in Higurashi ...and the students of Grade 9, Class 3 for Another) tries desperately to hide from outsiders and newcomers, lest the demons that plagued them before return with renewed fervor. Both are also filled with disturbing images (graphic killing in both, as well as a creepy, lifeless doll motif in Another ) and psychological aspects that will undoubtedly make the viewer's blood run cold, or at the very least pass a glance over your shoulder to make sure you're not being watched...
both have a new boy that moves to a village with a curse that they must find out how to stop it or why its happening.
Another is based on a novel while Higurashi or 'When they Cry' is based on a text based game on the playstation.
Both Anime have lots of depth and gore. While Higurashi is more torture and vengence than mystery, Another is more based around mystery and has a Hunger Games feel to it towards the end.
Both Anime are amazing and both of the are centred around a girl, In Higurashi it is Furude Rika, Hojou Satako, Sonozaki Mion and Shion and Ryuugu Rena, another is centred around a girl called Misaki Mei.
Both shows involve alot of mystery, suspense and are focued around a series of deaths. Both contain a supernatural element that helps drive the plots forward in way that is neither cliche or forced. Both are centered around classmates and their relationships are imporant to the progressen of the plot and the ultimate conclusions, though in the case of Higurashi that doesnt come until season 2. If you liked one you'll more than likely find something to like in the other.
They both have alot of similarities, down to the names being nearly identical. If you like one of them you will like the other.
To avoid any spoilers, I would simply put it into that both series share the same gore/thriller/horror mood with a good plot
Higurashi and Another have their similarities, but Higurashi takes the insanity even further... in an awesome way.
Both start off with the main character moving into a new place. Both are horror anime centered around a series of mysterious deaths. Both anime have a lot of horrible death scenes.
Both center on a new student transferring to new school. a supernatural mystery that's been happening for awhile in both series, lots of guessing wtf? is happening, psychotic breakdowns, disturbing/bloody scenes.
A new boy comes to town only to notice that everyone is keeping some sort of mystery from him, after which people start dying in hideous ways. While Higurashi and Another share basic plotlines, the mysteries are different enough to make you sit through both of them in all their gory glory.
The main character of Another reminded me constantly of Keiichi (I guess even their names are similar!). Both series are about a yearly curse and the attempts to circumvent it, in both cases, leading to disastrous results.
Both anime are about a boy who moves to a mysterious and cursed village in which people violently die every year.
Another and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni are one of the few spooky Japanese animes that are out there. Both are very good to boot.
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni is like Another, and vice versa, because Keiichi and Sakikabara (Sorry for spelling!) are both new to this place, and they are hidden from everything. At first you think "Oh my god this is so stupid and confusing" but the more you watch, the more you're like "OHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
if you liked another and you are looking for something more complex higurashi is the best option, higurashi lacks the romance part of another, I bet you'd like more higurashi than another because it's about 60 episodes with a plot full of mistery
wonderful is not enough for this two anime, they both have a fine plot and a storyline that doesnt get you bored they are full of thrill and are just beautiful
They are horror and have a great suspence in the end and alllso one of abest on mine!! I am glad to watch this anime.
Both series' are very twisted. If you enjoy gore and gruesome deaths, you'll enjoy Higurashi and Another both. Both characters are harassed by a series of horrible occurrences. Neither show lacks in the gore department.
They have the same sort of feel, normal boy moving to a strange school. And by strange, I mean deadly!
The general atmosphere and sense of mystery in both anime evoke similar feelings in the audience, the 'small town with big secrets' setting is present in and the male MCs are rather similar as well.
They both have the same creepy atmosphere, as well as a "new person in town" who is largely unaware of the town's bloody history
Both of these anime feature a boy who moves to a small town and ends up finding himself in a middle of a mysterious happenings and deaths. As the mysteries are slowly solved, you will soon find yourself unable to stop watching until you reach the end and the answers.
Get your gore-gasms over here. You want blood and horrific deaths, then you have the right anime for you here. While Higurashi can be straight up gore with mysterious goings on, Another has a mysterious force at work murdering all in sight. With the dark atmosphere of either, if you liked one, you'd definitely like the other.
Well, from what I've seen yes the two are very similar. First off, they are horror genre and they both have horrific deaths that seem to be a prevalent theme. There is a mystery that goes along with both and they draw you into the story with the intrigue of finding out what happens next.
The series brings about mystery and horror as it gets closer to revealing the solution to what is causing the events to happen. The narration is done well enough to make you think you understand it until it shows you the twists and turns to keep you wondering until the very end.
Both anime are not for the light-hearted -- involves gruesome deaths with definite not afraid to show blood.
The main character gets sucked into the world, and it appears everyone around him is hiding something causing a lot of suspicions, and introduces superstitions (e.g. curses).
Main difference is that Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is told in Arcs in order to "solve" the mystery, whereas Another is a continuous 12-episode story. However, give that, Higurashi has a lot of main characters, and character development, where Another has much less than you'd expect.
They are both no-holds-barred, gory, suspenseful mysteries. You'll keep guessing who's going to die next :)
Both animes are a good scare, and lovly to watch if you enjoy the horror genre. Both are very mysterious, and you have no idea of what's going on until the last episode.
Both of these animes have themes of death and suspicion with high levels of suspense. They're both pretty dark and have a large amount of violence, although I would say that Higurashi has more violence. Despite being horror series, they can be pretty funny when they want to be. If you like one you will like the other.
Both anime have plenty of mystery and suspense in them and their stories are even a little bit similar, but not too much. I have said it many times in my other recs but once again I'm going compare the mood (or atmosphere). Higurashi has humor but it doesn't really affect the mood, it's still intense and it makes you grab onto the edge of the table as you wait what happens next. Another on the other hand is even darker than Higurashi and it stays that way until the very end.
They have kinda similar setting, story takes place in a small comunnity. There is the same feeling, you feel uneasy watching them, you know something is gonna happen and then btooom! it happens and you know you can't do anything else then continue watching even though you are scared fuck. Yeah.
The horror aspect in both is the first obvious resonance between the two stories, but their similarities go beyond this - both are genuinely intriguing stories, with the viewer led down a twisting path which is ultimately satisfying and completely unpredictable.
Both series develop a similar horror plot. Whilst in Higurashi you will have to watch it for some time to get the whole mystery it does exist.
Both develop similar and have a strong flavour for gore and violense. If you liked Another i think it's worth giving Higurashi a try, the first season is Eposodic but the second answears the questions. If alternitively you like Higurashi you should love Another, it's a shorter watch with all your favourite elements included, with a little more mystery. Either way chances are you should like them both if you enjoyed one.
Both anime have that one new transfer student who everybody is keeping secrets from. In both anime the hero eventually finds out this secret and has many close brushes with death. In both anime people are also killed very frequently and there is lot of blood. If you're a horror fan its definitely worth checking out other if you've seen one of these anime.
If you enjoyed Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (When They Cry) or Another, you should definitely check out the other. Both of these titles offer up true horror, wrapped in a shroud of mystery. The plotline of each is similar: there are mysterious deaths occurring on a regular predictive basis, and everyone in the surrounding area knows the "trigger" except the main protagonist for each series. In Higurashi, Keiichi Maebara is the new kid in town looking in on the mysterious deaths and disappearances in Hinamikawa. In Another, Koichi Sakakibara is the outsider excluded from explanations of the curse of Yomiyama North's Class 3.
Both anime dish out ample suspense and violence to satisfy modern horror fans, and yet offer up enough of a mystery to qualify in this genre as well. Higurashi's violence is a bit more explicit and occurs a bit more frequently, but Another offers up just as many chills and thrills. Higurashi's mystery is presented in a unique cumulative story reveal plotline, while Another's mystery is told in a more traditional find-the-clues along the way story manner.
If you really enjoyed the thrill ride that is either of these titles, you will not be disappointed if you check out the other. Fans of horror and mystery will enjoy both of these.
because they are both horror anime. So much blood and nice to watch when you are a horror freak like me!
They both have this dark, mysterious aura around them. I'd recommend them both ways as they are quite alike, yet they're different. Watch it to find out.
Both shows are super creepy and they're horror genre. Both have scary and disturbing moments. Another has a more complicated storyline though.
Both anime's are very twisted and a bit confusing, yet enjoyable. If you're a horror/mystery fan, then these anime's will both give you a thrill.
If your looking for high quality series that truly does deserves it's "mystery horror' genre label then look no further than both of these series. Both have a ton of suspense, tension, and a bit of the supernatural aspect too.
They are both psychological thrillers. When I watched Another, it reminded me of Higurashi immensely.
they have very similar themes such as horror, curses and transfer students. They are both very good anime if you like figuring out mysterys and breaking curses that may result in very brutal death then your in for a treat
The stories are similar: new kid comes to new school, and his friends are hiding the creepy secrets from him. And then people start dying.
Both are horror. Higurashi no Naku koro ni, though, is lighter (more humour, less creepiness), but much more complicated due to the way it's presented and the fact it's 4 times longer.
Both the towns are mystrious. The main protagonists in both are outsiders and don't know the secrects as well. Avoid the dub on both of these!
Blood and gore in both, characters scared for their lives and wondering if they will be next, or think they are a target.
Both of these anime have an outsider joining the school, and that's all well and good... until people start dropping like flies. If gruesome death, strange rituals, and cute girls going insane is what attracted you to the first anime, you're going to enjoy the second.
Both Another and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni build up the suspense with each episode. There is a feeling of impending doom-which is a rather dramatic description, but that's how it feels. One horror keeps getting stacked on top of another horror, ending in fear, hopelessness, and even sadness.
Both are village based horrors, where a guy moves in and discovers something is seriously wrong with the village.
Kouchi will remind you heavily of Maebara keichii and vise versa. Both anime take place in a small town with something extremely mysterious going on. People are dying, nobody realy knows why, other than a curse, which the main protagonist (Keichii or Kouchi) tries to figure out. Another is less light hearted, while when they cry has many lighthearted cute breaks from some of the deeper darker stuff.
Both are horror anime. Simple enough. Both are initially confusing then slowly weave there beautiful story together. There main differences are that with Higurashi you get comedy to offset the extreme violence and a lot more moe elements. With Another they offset violence with more of it. Both are very violent and you will enjoy until the end. If you enjoyed either of these you’ll love the other. Oh yeah and the males are very similar in nature. Both have some vivid kill animations
It's a gory horror anime, similar to each other. Both have plot twists and psychological elements.
If you liked another then one thing is clear your into the gore or horror side of anime. If that is the case then you will most likely enjoy Higurashi or When they cry is the english name. It is known for its gore.
Encased by trees that are used to make grave markers, Sotoba is a village thought to be surrounded by death - a fact that soon literally becomes the case. One summer, a series of mysterious and untimely fatalities begins to plague the small rural town. With a higher than normal mortality rate for the time of year and each cause of passing remaining unknown, Toshio, the local doctor, and Seishin the temple’s vice chief monk become suspicious and take it upon themselves to investigate. However, as the deaths begin to pile up, more people begin to wonder just what is behind this sudden epidemic; could it have anything to do with the bizarre Kirishiki family that recently moved to the village?
Both animes are about a small town where weird things happens and had a mistery aura that makes you want to watch them over and over again.
It has a familiar story. There begin to happen strange deaths and mysterious things. If you like Another, You will really enjoy Shiki.
Shiki and Another both share the same type of overall dread for the viewer, but the scope and outcome of the overall plot are quite different. If you liked Another, give Shiki a watch.
Both Another and Shiki take place iin a sleepy, if somewhat homely, town that soon gives way to the chaos and paranoia flowing within everyone's psyche. Both Shiki and Another have mysterious girls whose presence proceed to psychologically bash everyone else's sanity in the head (metaphorically speaking) once they've dug their heels in and made a home in the sleepy town. Their existence causes a train-wreck, chain-reaction-like phenomenon that leaves many dead and others messed up from the sheer horror and unspeakable events that unfold. If you like psychological horror with a creepy, unnerving girl who seems to reek of death, then I recommend both ways.
Both series have the same dark atmosphere. Although Shiki is deeper in terms of what emotions it plays on, another has a less obvious plot.
With a mixture of mystery, horror, and a little bit of chaos, these shows feel very similar to me. I would say that Another is more focused on one main character and his development, while Shiki is more about how the events effect a small town and the different reactions of the people living there. I think if you liked one you should definitely give the other a try.
same style of drawings, nice storyline. Both stories have something evil mysterious in them, people die etc
both animes are similar because they are about a small town and people keep dieing. The main characters in both are guys who begin to investigate more into it as the story continues and then they find out something they wish they would have never known. both shows are equally creepy
Both Shiki and Another have a paranormal aspect, horror and mystery. They both involve deaths and a desperate race for survival which keeps the audience engrossed until the end.
Both shows take place in a peaceful environment, when suddenly deaths start occuring. You begin to wonder what causes these deaths and when you find out what exactly is happening you begin to hope that they can put the number of deaths to a stop before everyone dies. It constantly puts you on the edge of your chair. If you liked one, you'll like the other as well.
It's all in the mood the shows create. Both anime have that eerie, unsettling atmosphere which invokes the same type of dread in the viewer.Furthermore, they are both slow-paced mysteries with plenty of horror elements, and both are set in seemingly peaceful backwater towns that in fact hide certain secrets.
I agree that and i recomend another and shiki because they boath are about terror and have some intense storys and are quite wonderfull.
Both shows are about kids who move to a small town in the middle of nowhere. It isn't long after they move that strange things start to occur around them. Both main characters fight to figure out the mystery and solve the problem that is harassing their home.
Both of these take place in a small town in which people start to mysteriously die. The main characters go and try to solve what is killing townsfolk and get rid of the cause.
Another and Shiki are similar in that they are both excellent examples of gruesome, well-written psychological stories. There is no distracting intrusion of any other genre here--no ecchi, no comedy--just good ol' horror.
both involve the supernatural, a large cast of characters, and dangerous mystery. Also with both you get the feeling that no characters are "safe"
Both animes take place in a small town, where weird stuff starts happening. And both have a really good story, but there are some terrifying scenes. Highly recommended!
If you like Shiki you would like Another and vice-versa. The plot is similar. Moreover, both story takes place in a small town.
Both series are seriously scary, and have parranormal aspects. I like Shiki the most, but I have enjoyed Another as well. I hope you will watch them both!
Both anime have the dark, mysterious aura with bad things occurring in a secluded area. Also, they're both in the horror genre, they're pretty scary.
i think because yhey take place in a small town in both animes they all try to ignore what is going on
They involve murders, in mysterious ways, they're dark animes and definitely both recommendable.
They're both mystery stories with a very interesting background and surprisingly good development, as well as conclusions. Most anime stop to follow the manga along the way and need to be wrapped up, which in 9 out of 10 cases proves disastrous to the story. Fortunately these are both the 10th case (I haven't read these though). If you liked the dim colors and comparatively realistic art of Another, then you might find Shiki a bit too bright and distorted, but I think it's worth bearing with.
Both have that feeling of mystery Another much more so. I'm notvery good at 'vocalizing' it, but trust me if you liked one you'll like the other too!
They have a similarly creepy atmosphere. Both start slow but once they pick up the pace you'll be hooked. If you like weird, dark, and macabre atmospheres that is.
You get the same eerie feeling from both anime's. Both are very very twisted and will make you want to continue watching even when it slows down.
shiki and Another both featcher there charecters geting killed of one by one as well as mysterys surrounding the plots.
Like Shiki like Another. All mystery and wanna know what will happen next. I recommend ;D
Another all mystery and blood. People die due to the 死者。 They try to find out what's the cause. But why is it?!
Shiki also mystery and blood. People been dying since summer. But some how they are alive again?!
Well well, wanna know what's the cause then watch the animes ;D
Both are really good and bloody =P
Both of these anime start in small towns where a horrible mystery is unfolding. Both have a bit of supernatural, a lot of death, and people showing that being classmates doesn't mean much in a life or death situation.
Both build up suspense in an "And ThenThere Were None" type way. They also share a very creepy vibe that makes you want to watch these with the lights ON.
They both revolve around the parinormal and death. Lots and lots of death. Both series have a sence of mistery and darkness.
The entire super natural theme and even just the plot; a slowly applied massacre to all of the school students, made these anime both a really good watch.
There's not a lot of horror anime, there's plenty with the horror theme but not enough in my opinion where it's main theme is just straight out horror, but these two definitely got the bill, and are entertaining as hell, so much so that I own both series on Blu Ray
These two anime is pretty similar. School boy is the protagonist. And also those all incident happened in small town or villages.
Deep and gory. Both of these are honestly so so so freaky and have highschoolers as main characters. Both anime also go in depth about people's personal feelings rather than their kind.
One rainy night after a school festival, a group of students from Kisaragi Academy decide to perform the "Sachiko Ever After" charm, which will unite them forever as friends. Once the ritual is done, a sudden earthquake transports them to Heavenly Host, a torn down elementary school. Unbeknownst to Satoshi and his friends, however, is the horrific past behind it which culminated in its demolition. As they look for each other and try to escape from Heavenly Host, they soon find out their lives are at the mercy of those affected by that same bloodied past.
Want to see students getting killed off in horriffic ways? Want a creepy sense of foreboding around every corner? That's what I thought.
Gore, horror, gruesome deaths each surrounding high school kids. If you liked Corpse Party: Tortured Souls or Another, you'd like the other.
Both anime are about students surrounded by death, desperately trying to solve a mystery before they are the next to die. Both series have creatively gory kills with plenty of blood and mutilation.
Another has a better plot and more consistent atmosphere, but if you're looking for a dark anime with plenty of gore and violent death then you should check out both of these anime.
"Corpse Party" and "Another" are mystery-horror anime with dark atmospheres. Both revolve around a creepy little school that is obviously completely haunted and the kids who run around trying to figure out why everyone is dying at a rapid rate.
"Corpse Party" is one of those anime that tries to cram so much gore and death into such a short run time that the whole thing might as well just have gunned everyone down in the first five minutes. But they didn't, and that's what gives this show its mystery appeal. "Another," on the other hand, is all about mystery, and any fan of mystery anime who watched "CP" should watch "Another." And anyone who wants ridiculous (in a very awesome way, especially in the case of "Another") death scenes littered with blood and gore should watch both of these.
"Another" is superior to "CP," but it's in no way a masterpiece. But both are short, entertaining gorefests.
They are both scary in terms of creepy and off-putting atmosphere. They are also very gory.
Both shows are rather violent slashers, who will survive? How can they stop the killing?
But Another is a bit like the movie Final Destination where Corpse Party is more like a real horror slasher.
Do note that Corpse Party is alot more violent and graphic as Another, it is not for the feint hearted.
Both feature a lot of deaths, more or less sudden, because of curses. I recommend these only if you're not afraid of gore and/or blood.
Have similar setting where the characters were trapped in mysterious location and they were murdered one by one. If you wanna watch it, prepare your mentality because you'll see when character died in terrible and unpredictable way.
This warning just applies to you who doesn't like horror, cause it just small fry for someone who likes horror. XD
They are kind of similar since they are both school horror. Plus the mains subject isa kind of dangerous school curse.
Love gore? Well, obviously since you've seen Corpse Party/Another (please delete as appropriate) Want some more gore? Then give this a go!
I like both but Another is much more better, has better horror story and good point.
Corpse Party is just about deaths and torture. It wasnt bad but also not too good.
Both are school horror with lots of gore and kids dying left to right. They also have the same eerie atmosphere.
Both of these shows are in the same genre. They are both very scary and can have you looking away from the screen at certain times. Many times. Both of them have death, blood, and gore. They also both follow the story line of school. They are not in the same grades, but both are very alike
It depends on why you liked Another. If you were all about the gore then you are very likely to get some joy from Corpse Party, though it has a weaker plot than Another.
Teiichi Niiya is a first year middle-school student at Seikyou Private Academy, an institution known for mysterious occurrences. The boy quickly finds these rumors to be true when he meets Yuuko Kanoe, a beautiful, mischievous girl who quickly takes a liking to him... and happens to be a ghost who seemingly no one else can see! Unable to remember anything about her past, Yuuko enlists Teiichi’s help to discover the truth, and together they join the school's Paranormal Investigation Club. With fellow memebers Momoe and Kirie, the pair will investigate the many strange happenings around campus, including the shadowy circumstances surrounding Yuuko’s death.
Both of these shows start with a similar feel. The horror/mystery at school. They both have a similar seriousness to them, but Another will stick more to the horror theme, while Dusk Maiden will be more sillier at times and move to a more romantic plot. However, I suspect that if you like one you might like the other, keeping in mind these differences.
Both are deal with mysteries surrounding the female lead and both deal with spirits. They also have a dark tone to them while also retaining some lighthearted moments of comedy. They have very similar settings also. It's not hard to see how you could enjoy one if you enjoyed the other.
Both have a similar feel, both quite dark, though Dusk Maiden is often more light-hearted, both extremely good animes and both worth watching for anyone who likes the supernatural!!
Both had some sort of mystery element behind. While I do agree Another has more of the suspenseful and seriousness aspect behind it, Dusk Maiden of Amnesia has some more comedy with it. The comedy aspect of Dusk Maiden of Amnesia doesn't steer it away from the mystery element of the anime. If I had to pick a favorite out of the two, it would be hard because I feel both are good animes that have a good sense of mystery.
Both anime have a scary atmosphere and a mystery to keep you invested in th plot. The male leads are quite generic but the female leads are brilliant charecters.
I want to tell you about Tasogare Otome x Amnesia. This anime prety nice. I watched it few days ago and I can't forget it.. The characters, story line, soundtrack, draw - it is really nice. This anime have only 12 epizodes + 1 ova. It will be boring in began, but about 9-10 epizodes it comes much much better than you think. I recommend you watch anime or reed manga, this anime will touch your hurt. I don't like animes like this one, but it - the best of the best. Now it my TOP1 anime, it better than Death note, Full Methal Alchemist, Kuroko basketball and many others.
About Another - this anime nice too. First 5 epizodes will be boring, next 7 - prety nice.
Have good time with this animes.
I Will Recommend this Anime. If you love romance, comedy, ecchi. Kiss moders pls make sure to add ecchi and comedy tag on the anime. The ending is Pretty good.Animation 7.8/10Animation is pretty nice , could be nicer.Story 8.7/10 Story is pretty much nice. Ending is also satisfying. No rushed episodes in my opinion.Comedy 8.21/10 (you will like it more in dub, but there is no English translations of japanese words in dub that are popping in anime.)(but i always prefer dub over sub jst my opinion)Romance 9/10 yeah definitely you will love it with some ecchi scenes.horror 6.3/10 not that horrific unless you are a 8 yrs old kid.Mystery 8.9/10 this story is build on mystery/thriller btw you will not get bored.Supernatural 8.8/10
Overall in my opinion would be 8.9/10 definitely a must watch for romance
Another features a male and female character lead in a school sort of working together to figure out the school/s mystery. Tasogare features the exact same thing. Both are very touching stories. If you watch one, watch the other. Tasogare has some more echii scenes - though it is not marked as such, so fair warning there
In the early 20th century, Kazuya transfers to a prestigious academy as part of an exchange program between Japan and Saubure, a small European country. But while Kazuya would love to make friends and have a typical school life, the boy is shunned by his ghost story-loving peers who believe that he's a "Black Reaper" to be feared. Things change one day when Kazuya wanders to the top of the library and discovers a lush botanical garden, and a beautiful, small, blonde-haired girl named Victorique who rarely leaves the building and is fascinated by unsolved mysteries. Together, the two develop a budding friendship and take on many chilling and dangerous cases that even the famous local detective Grevil can't solve.
both anime are about mistiries and myths. gosick there is for everything a logical reason.both girl looks like dolls. but in another there is supernatural stuff. if you liked 1 you will like the other.
Both series are shrouded in mystery and a new transfer student is thrown into the middle of it all. The main characters of Another and Gosick along side a calm and stoic female lead, go off to solve the mystery that threatens both of their lives and will forever change their future. Gosick goes into a few more mysteries before getting into the main plot but Another is one giant msytery all the way through. Both series are amazing to watch.
Both very similar, both very awesome. Another is quite dark all the way through, and Gosick has some lighter moments, but if you like one, you will probably like the other.
A transfer student, school life, mysteries, male and female leads, murder are things both of these animes have. Another focuses on one mystery and while the characters do investigate and solve the problem, I wouldn't use detectives when talking about Another. Gosick on the other hand solves multiple mysteries that are all linked together and the characters are more or what you might think of as detectives. I explained that horrible but whatever. Another is more horror while Gossick is more mystery.
Gosick and Another are similiar in the way that they both have a blossoming love while the main characters are investigating al different kinds of scenarios.
Though Another love story is a bit more hidden and not some much the center of it like it sometimes is in gosick. Also Another has a standard creepy horror vibe, while gosick only had that for a few episodes. Gosick also contained comedy elements that are quite frankly lacking in another.
Both are very good animes but aren't as much alike the father you get in them. Though if you like romance and horror i would recommend both.
There's a heartwarming, budding relationship building between a social outcast, and a somewhat popular boy. Both of these have characters who are searching for something to give themselves meaning. There's an innate mystery and a small romance that teases you just enough to want more, with a heartwarming story, and a general mystety behind it. Both are absolutely great and similar in many ways.
Satoru Fujinuma is a reclusive part-timer with no plans for the future. What sets him apart from the other slackers in his town is an involuntary time travel ability that allows him to jump back several seconds in time in order to prevent accidents and even deaths. As incidents around town begin reminding Satoru of a childhood trauma he'd sooner forget, he finally begins to question what caused his ability to surface and whether or not it's powerful enough to change the past.
Both maybe diffrent but they both ahre the same genre and both have a deep plot. Also, both characters have to stuggle to find the cause of the curses thaey have to undergo.
Both are "mystery horror" type anime, albeit of a different plot line. Enjoyable story lines, and characters going through dark events.
The storyline is extremely different, but they are both horror and psychological animes, both anime will keep you guessing throughout runtime!
There is a Mystery element to both but be warned if you are watching another because you liked erase then i should warn you for gore.
SPOILER... maybe... just incase
The way the story misdirects you and the emotional impact you feel as these characters die avoidable deaths is masterfully crafted
Clumsy, good-natured Saya lives a happy life surrounded by her classmates, her admirers, and the loving guidance of her father, the priest of a shrine. But mysterious, bloodthirsty monsters have begun to appear, and as the daughter of the shrine, Saya is tasked with keeping the village safe – even if it costs the girl her life. Now, between her schoolwork and friendships, Saya must pick up the sword and keep these brutal creatures at bay. Will Saya be able to return to the quiet life she once knew?
Another and Blood-C are two horror titles in which a small community (class in Another) seemingly start to die by a supernatural cause, until everything goes completely wrong and out of control. They can both get pretty bloody, and if you want to watch them, I suggest you wait for the DVD release or else you'll be seeing a lot of censoring!
Do you like anime about bad things happening to school kids? Then look no further! These two shows have plenty of mystery and horror surrounded by many deaths! Blood-C adds in some monsters where Another is about freak accidents but both shows are a perfect match if you are looking for awesome gore.
Both of these anime are dumb as bricks, but let's face it- you're watching for the gore, not the story. And these two certainly deliver with the gore. There's no shortage of blood, limbs, and people dying in horrifying ways. Additionally, both were directed by the same person, so they have a similar pacing and progression.
Both are horror shows with plenty of gore and some supernatural elements, taking place in mostly a school setting.
You're a few episodes in, thinking, "it's been creepy, but nothing blatantly gory... And then it happens, the first school girl dies in a pool of blood. And from then on, the black haired female protagonist watches as her classmates are picked off in strange ways. Both anime are the scenario above, with some differences. If you liked one, try the other.
Yuki, a disaffected middle school boy has no dreams, or goals in his life, in fact, the only thing he does have is his diary. Writing down everything he observes and documenting every thought, the young boy uses it as an outlet for his imagination. One morning however, he wakes up to find his cell phone filled with diary entries for the next ninety days. Thinking nothing of it, he continues his morning until he begins to realise that everything on his phone is rapidly coming to pass, and it isn’t just mere coincidence. Now Yuki suddenly finds himself thrust into a survival game against other future diary owners to become the new Lord of Time.
Both have similar feelings with viewer disturbance from first observance.
Future Diary's appeal comes from wanting to know more about characters, as does Another's characters.
Both shows have similar styles and appealing artwork.
Both shows have similar impacts, even though Another is completely different from Mirai Nikki, both have the same elements and expectantions of both shows being creepy. Mysterious too!
If you like gore and psychologiacal horror, then Mirai Nikki is something for you! This series is about two students (Amano Yukiteru and Gasai Yuno) who gets involved in the god, Deus Ex Machina's, "survival game". The survival game is about "future diaries / mirai nikki". Each participant gets a future diary and with them, they are able to foresee the future. Now, the survival part, the game ends when only one is left alive. Basically they need to kill eachother.
Awesome Sound and animation
It's one of my favorite anime ever.
Both anime are really good. Another is much more horror one and more mysterious. Both anime have interesting ends that you cannot predict easylly.
Has someone done something to hurt you or the ones you love? Are you seeking revenge? Rumor has it that there’s a website that can service your needs. Titled “Hotline to Hell”, it contains a form that can be accessed only at midnight. Type in a name, and the Hell Girl will carry out your bidding – for a price. For though your appetite for revenge will be satisfied, your soul will also be condemned to hell after you die. But who is the Hell Girl, and does she care whether your revenge is justified? Apparently not, as long as she gets more souls…
They're similar in way that it is also in a school and Enma ai, and Misaki has the same creepy "red eyes". Although Misaki isn't related to hell, they share the same aura of death.
Though different in terms of plot-- Jigoku Shojo a story about a girl that has set up a website that will summon her to answer your call for revenge on another, and Another, a town that is plagued by its history of mysterious deaths all linked to the high school's Class 3 each year-- both feature a very stoic and seemingly emotionless girl as a main character who are in the center of all the trouble that abounds in bot series. If you like a horrorific anime with spooky and a supernatural 'cursed' lilt to it, I suggest either one.
Both anime revolve around a "legend" in which some people believe and others don't. Though the pacing is very different between each anime, both have that slight eeriness that will leave you feeling spooked. Though, unlike Another, Hell girl is episodic and repetitive, in the end you will get pretty much the same thing out of them. If you liked one, you will likely enjoy the other.
Both Another and Hell girl have dark athmosphere, horror elements, and some hidden secrets you have to discover little by little.
Mai Taniyama is a first year high school student who lives a carefree life telling ghost stories with her friends. One day, she meets Kazuya Shibuya, the head of Shibuya Psychic Research (SPR); and together, she tags along to help him investigate paranormal activities in a haunted school building. His assistant Lin was hurt during an incident to protect Mai from danger, so what more can Mai do than to take the job as Shibuya's assistant? Along with a team of other ghost hunters, they will uncover the mystery of a strange case coming their way, while Mai starts to discover her own abilities.
Let's see... teenagers, creepy atmosphere, ghost stories and sort-of-ghost stories... yep, these both have 'em.
Granted, Ghost Hunt wasn't nearly as exciting at first, but it built, and the last few episodes had a nice combination of blood, mysterious/creepy air, and story. So if that's the part of Ghost Hunt you liked the most, and you want a more complex, longer stretching story, then you'll want to check out Another.
If you want more ghost/creepy/etc stuff, but would like a bit more romance and a few more typical character interactions than Another provides, then you may like Ghost Hunt. Just know that GH is more about investigating the ghosts at first, not superstitions.
They have their differences, as you can tell just be reading the descriptions (once the Another description is up). But they have enough similarities that I can't believe I'm the first to make this recommendation.
Creepy, Scary, and Thrilling. If yuh like one of these or mayb all of them then i suggest yuh watch this. Ghost Hunt has a scary theme tht builds up within each episode. Another may have a little bit of romance in it bt it also carries the traight of scary and creepy. Both have bloodshed in them so if yuh enjoy tht then i suggest yuh watch this.
Low key supernatural anime that slowly buillds to something climatic. Not as many tropes as the usual shrine-maiden-with-family-obligation-to-slay-demons series.
If you enjoyed Ghost Hunt or Another, I strongly recommend the other. Ghost Hunt is amazing series, in my opinion, and has a strong sense of originality. The style of horror and erie sense of both shows go hand in hand. As along they both involve ghosts and even haunted schools.
Character appeal also goes greatly in this, as most characters show depth and great personality potential.
