Fairy Tail: Final Season

Jun 27, 2021

When I was halfway through watching the final season of Fairy Tail, I started to notice some similarities in each and every episode. It then dawned on me what Fairy Tail is actually all about, and I just couldn't wait to write a review about it. so here I'll be giving a short summary of the most important content of Fairy Tail, on a episode per episode basis. Starting at episode 301! Please note that you'll have to click "read full review" to get the gist of it. Fairy Tail in a nutshell Episode 301:

My Hero Academia

Apr 26, 2016

I'm usually not the kind of person that rants and cries about everything, but after 4 episodes, I just couldn't keep myself together anymore. This is a shameless copy of One-Punch man, trying to cash in on its succes. Unfortunately, it's doing a bad job at it. The characters are even more ridiculous, the art style is worse - but still on a decent level though - and the story is absolute bullsh*t. There, I said the S-word in one of my reviews. Glad that's out of the way. I'm not going to waste any more words on this. And stay out of the way of this anime. Whether you liked OPM or not, you'll probably... See full review

Working!!!

Sep 22, 2015

January 2013: It was a time when I was a mere rookie when it came to Anime. Sure, I had seen my fair share of overhyped shounen series like Dragonball Z and Pokémon, but that was back when I wasn't even aware that any of these shows belonged to a bigger something. It was when I joined Anime-Planet, that a whole new world opened up to me. One of the first shows I ever watched in this new world, was Working! (Wagnaria). It was a time when I still used to be very lenient towards the things I saw; a time when I could hardly distinguish the good from the bad since I lacked the proper... See full review

Durarara!!

Nov 4, 2014

Durarara!! Season 1 review Storyline: 9. Mikado, a boy who lived his entire life at the boring countryside, moves to the sparkling city of Ikebukuro to see his childhood friend Masaomi again. Adapting to his new life in the big city seems a bit difficult at first, with violent gangs like the Yellow Scarves and the Dollars hanging around every corner of the street and sadistic people like Izaya crossing their path from time to time. But even the quiet Mikado and the extravert Masaomi seem to be keeping secrets of their own, secrets that somehow connect to the mysterious people and strange events that... See full review

Detroit Metal City

Oct 26, 2014

Detroit Metal City review Storyline: 7. With a promising title like Detroit Metal City – shortly put DMC, and also a great song by KISS – as a metalhead, I obviously couldn’t neglect to give this series a chance. DMC is an Anime about a trio of losers who are all members of the popular indie underground metal band Detroit Metal City. While the band is being led by a crazy and overly ambitious manager who puts all her effort in trying to get the band to the top of the bill, the band members are trying to find their way in real life, where they attempt to hide their dark identities at all... School Rumble: 2nd Semester

Oct 1, 2014

School Rumble (season 1 and 2 review)

Storyline: 8. Harima Kenji is a high school delinquent with a crush on his classmate Tenma. But Tenma only has eyes for the mysterious and ever so absent-minded Karasuma. What follows is a funny story about unrequited love, where Harima and Tenma both try their best to get the attention of the one they love, but fail at each attempt and unwillingly get in each other's way as the story progresses. A typical love triangle/school life story you say? Perhaps, but School Rumble is much more than that. There's a certain flow in this series that I can hardly... See full review

Angel Beats!

Aug 25, 2014

Does Angel Beats need another review? After browsing through sixteen pages of reviews, I'd say no. But hey, I review everything I see, and this Anime was just too good to be left out. So without further ado, let's do this! Storyline: 10. Angel Beats (AB) takes place in a fictional world where people who have passed away come together. They all have one thing in common: somehow their life goals haven’t been fulfilled or the lives they led were unsatisfactory. In order to pass on to the real afterlife – if there is one of course – they have to accomplish or obtain the things they were... See full review

Deadman Wonderland Review
Storyline: 8. Deadman Wonderland (DMW) is an action-packed story that follows the unfortunate events of Ganta Igarashi. The misery starts when all of a sudden, a humanoid being cloaked in red goes on a killing spree in Ganta's classroom. As the only survivor of the assault, Ganta becomes the prime suspect of the murder case and gets sentenced to a one-way trip to Deadman Wonderland, a place where only the fittest criminals can survive, fighting death matches in battle arena's for the sole purpose of entertaining thousands of spectators. Girls Bravo

GIRLS BRAVO (2014 review)
Storyline: 7. Girls Bravo follows the life of Yukinari, a boy who's afraid of women - who wouldn't be? - and gets pockmarks all over his body when someone of the female kind touches him. One day, he forgets that his cute neighbour Kirie is coming over to have a bath because the one she has at home is out of order. When he enters the room and the fan-service kicks in, Yukinari stumbles in the bath and enters a world somewhere in the universe - close towards the earth since you can see our little blue planet in their sky - where only 10% of the population is male! Therefore, the... See full review

Funny Pets

Jan 7, 2014

Funny Pets! Storyline 3. On New Year’s Eve, people go out to have fun with their beloved, their families and friends. Me, on the other hand, decided to watch the notorious Anime called Funny Pets!, together with fellow Anime-Planet member Brokensaint058. The only way we were able to finish the whole thing, was by turning it into a drinking game. And so we did. Apparently, a brain-dead girl called Funny takes in some homeless aliens who have the head of a sun and a moon. The sun has the characteristics of a baby. He gets all the attention from Funny. While the moon is being an ass all the time and... See full review

Bakemonogatari

Nov 28, 2013

Bakemonogatari  Storyline 7. Our protagonist Araragi is a vampire who finds it his duty to help out cursed tsundere women. He does this by talking, talking and more talking. Yep, that pretty much sums up the whole series. Plot and pace 4. The development in this Anime is very slow. There are five different arcs, each time involving a different girl that has been cursed by the spirits of a certain animal (i.e. snakes, monkeys, a bunny,…). Bakemonogatari never really makes sense, but since it’s an anime about mysteries and supernatural things I don’t mind about that too... See full review

Mayo Chiki!

Nov 20, 2013

Storyline 7. Because of the high level of awkwardness in this Anime, it’ll be hard for me to explain the whole content to you. But I’m going to give it a try anyway. Like in most romantic series, Kinjirou’s parents are both out of the house for the entire story. His mother is a pro wrestler who travels the world, his father passed away when he was a kid. So he’s basically living alone with his little sister, which most of the time means he plays punching bag for her daily exercise, since little Kureha’s trying to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Kinjirou has... See full review

His club members from the male-exclusive Auto Club take advantage of him all the time and his love life is inexistent. But that all changes when he accidentally calls the Goddess Assistance Agency. He meets up with the beautiful Belldandy, who claims to be a Goddess from heaven who can grant him one single wish to reward the compassion he has for other people. Street Fighter II V

Nov 12, 2013

Street Fighter IV Storyline 7. As a kid, I used to play fighting games like Tekken, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat all the time. It was therefore purely for nostalgia reasons that I decided to watch the Street Fighter Anime series. The story is appealing to kids and people who play(ed) the game. Ken and Ryu travel the world to improve their fighting skills. Along the way, they meet all sorts of fighters and often get into trouble, which they mostly resolve with their fists. Other than that there’s not much of a story in this series. It’s all about combat action, just like the game, so... See full review

Welcome to the NHK! Storyline 9. Sato is a Hikikomori - a person who’s afraid of other human beings and never leaves his house. Being afraid of other people, he doesn’t have a job either, and all he ever does is sleeping, smoking and thinking about the imaginary evil conspiracy that made his life this miserable: the NHK. Sato believes that his whole life has been set-up by this conspiracy, which leads to ridiculously funny scenes sometimes. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 Storyline 6. I don’t really feel like reviewing this Anime, but I don’t want to give up my habit of comment upon every series I watch. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 takes place in... Tokyo, and it follows the story of two children who were in the capital of Japan at the time an earthquake strikes. The makers tried to create a realistic story about what happens when a disaster like this happens, and they did a pretty decent job. People turn into pigs and their natural instinct - survival of the fittest - starts to get the upper hand when things like this happen. So the kids can find... See full review

Bunny Drop

Sep 20, 2013

Usagi Drop Storyline 7. At the moment I’m writing this, Usagi Drop is being rated number 15 on the list of Anime Planet’s best Animes, surpassing the likes of Death Note, Sword Art Online and Mirai Nikki in the process. It may therefore seem self-evident that my expectations were astronomical, especially when I noticed the lowest review score this Anime received was a 7/10. Unfortunately, Usagi Drop never fulfilled these high expectations. Slice of life Anime might’ve already been a genre which held few positive experiences to me, I still cannot understand that I am the only one who... See full review
