Oz

OZ REVIEW   General Intro: If you're looking for anything groundbreaking here you're headed in the wrong direction. This is a very cliche 90's romance between a military man and a girl who is supposed to be old enough to be a doctor but acts, thinks and talks like she's straight out of a high school romance novel. I could make fun of it more but the truth is it had its good points for what it was. especially if you are like me and sometimes like to reminisce about how things used to be and truth be told, I've come across much worse anime both back in the day and now. I would have been... Psychic Detective Yakumo

Nov 27, 2017

Shinrei Tantei Yakumo is a great anime to watch if you enjoy supernatural detective or ghost story anime. It's also great if you enjoy anime with innocent romantic relationships and deep yet beautiful character development in both sweet and disturbing ways. The opening music compliments the themes and feel of the anime perfectly. So, overall, it's definitely worth the watch. I ran into this anime because I was looking for more like Ghost Hunt, and this one is definitely alike when it comes to surface-level similarities. However, it would be a mistake to think that if you have seen Ghost Hunt you... See full review

Wicked City

Jan 5, 2017

First off, I need to warn people. If you have an aversion to tenticle rape, gangbangs and screwed up sexual monsters... well then forgo watching this title, you'll be glad you didn't try it. If you're okay with all that... then well, you might not want to watch it anyways. It's pretty bad.  You know how there are some anime that are so bad they are funny? Like Golgo 13: The Professional or Tokko. Well this one is horrible but it's not funny... just bad. I've been on a old anime kick for a while now and I came across this one as a rec for some other ones I watched and liked... The premise... See full review

Joker Game: Kuroneko Yoru no Bouken

Dec 28, 2016

I tend to steer clear of anime specials. Many times they are pretty stupid (For example: Attack on titan chibi ones). In this anime's case though, I decided to give it a try since I liked Joker Game a lot and because of the tone of the show, I assumed they would make it worth while and it was. I'm glad I gave it a shot. This review may not be impartial because I love cats so I was pretty much sold from the outset. Still, it plays like an extra shorter episode that is split into 2 parts and includes all the D agency guys. The story behind it was definately cute and I'd like to see... See full review

Super Lovers

Jun 24, 2016

So first let me say that this anime was made extremely well. If you enjoy this type of shi... I mean stuff, then you're bound you like it. The quality is exceptional. The main and secondary characters are very likeable. The art is beautiful, the sound is perfect and the story is... well it is exactly what you'd expect from a slice of life type of romance. It's the first boys love type animation I've ever seen so I have nothing to compare it to and chances are I won't be watching many others. Not because it's bad per se. Just because it's not for me. Honestly I'm not a big fan of slice of life and I... See full review

Ghost Hunt

May 30, 2016

Story If you are into Anime Horror or mysteries, I think you should give Ghost Hunt a try. Not because it's among the scariest of what the Genres have to offer but because it has some extremely emersive stories. It manages to pull off a more tame Horror in a very easy to swallow way while still remaining interesting to the seasoned fans.  This is one of those anime that you can watch with anyone really without worrying about them running away.  The Story is of a episodic nature but each case spans more than one episode. If I was to complain about anything, there would be only 2... See full review

Souseiki

May 23, 2016

Story: This extremely short Biblical type story is actually quite interesting and has a greatly funny twist at the end. I didn't expect it because it really seemed to mimic the bible with the exception that they made Eve first instead of Adam. Anyways, after you get through the how god made the world in 7 days part that most everyone knows... that's when it actually gets good. But because they slightly alter it you still have to watch the whole thing and besides it's super short anyway so you won't be wasting any time. This one was probably the best story of the older shorts I've come across (from the 60's... See full review

Au Fou!

May 23, 2016

Story:  What story? In a movie short that is cut into tiny shorts and shared together? Yeah right! Anyways, if you ever wanted to sit down and see some old animation thats shows many different ways to die. This is a good place to start. There is no story but it is amusing if viewed in the correct way. Any longer and it would have gotten boring. There is one part I do need to mention about the story though. At the very beginning I wasn't sure I was going to like it cause for quite a long sequence we see a man running with a knife and the animation being what it was back then the fact that it went... Blue Gender: The Warrior

Apr 17, 2016

In order to truly review Blue Gender: The Warrior I am going to have to refer to it's predecessor multiple times throughout this review. The reason being Blue Gender is not a sequel, it condences the original Blue Gender into One Movie with a couple new idea's thrown in and a different ending. First Lets talk about the story. The story folows the same route as the original Blue Gender but it only has 2 hours to finish instead of 26 episodes, it's a given that they are not going to be able to include every awsome scene so I was curious as to how they would go about cutting and how things would progress... Schwarzesmarken

When I picked this one out out of all the winter anime. I did so because I tend to enjoy war anime. I also tend to like supernatural anime so monsters are fine with me. So I thought I would enjoy it. However, I almost stopped watching it early on and there are major questions any viewer with half a brain is left with. The characters took me a while to warm up to and some of the character development felt forced and it was introduced in the entirely wrong way. The monsters were disgraceful and had no real logic to them. The fights were all somehow planned... like mosters would do as predicted which added to... See full review

Dimension W

Apr 10, 2016

This anime went beyond my expectations. I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did. So I am glad that I decided to give it a shot. While the story was slightly above average this is where they needed the most improvement. I felt that the logic of some of what happened felt off. Like the antagonist getting a lecture as he is about to be forced back into the realm of posibility or Dimension W or something. There were other things that I felt were quite oddly added without expanding on. Like The older prince's deviousness which I guess was all an act? or the outburst by the main character when he thought... See full review

God Eater

Apr 10, 2016

This anime is a rip off of so many different anime that it's comical however the one it rips off the most is Blue Gender. It's basicly Blue Gender without the Mechs and made more recently so the animation is better. That being said. I liked Blue Gender so this one ended up being fairly easy for me to watch. Despite all it's unoriginality. Where it breaks from blue gender it seems to take from other anime and manga bits and peices that were interesting and epic. It's like a collage of good anime scenes put together into a apocalyptic storyline and by the amount of watches it's got it's obvious that this... See full review

First I think it's important to say that this is an absolutely horrible anime. I don't think I have actually sat down and forced myself to watch something this bad in a very long time... it seems other places on the net classify this as Hentai... though when I think hentai I think things that actually show a bit more during sex scenes but it's not ecchi either... this would be lousy as hentai and lousy as regular anime... it's in no mans land in between the two.  The story is not only horribly cliche... it's just stupid in general and the pacing in several places is bad... Mar 12, 2016

This was too short to expect anything meaningful. 5 min. is nothing and as such... it's painless to watch no matter what you really think about this show and shows like it... that being said... here is what I thought about it... keep in mind that  I have not read the story connected to this at all. First I'll speak about the positives... The animation is the best thing about this short OVA. The animation flows well both in action scenes and ones with more subtle movements. Expressions are shown very accurately. It's what this OVA does best... The next somewhat positive thing is that they do not try to... See full review

King of Thorn

Mar 6, 2016

This is a new favorite for me and honestly I cannot even contemplate how any one could give this story anything below and 8 overall. Anyone who has the capacity to comprehend the story line should find it an amazing work of art! STORY: The story coinsides with the telling of a different version of sleeping beauty than the one I know. The blonde side character has an obsession with sleeping beauty and tells the story along side what happens and it correlates nicely with the way the story progresses. This is done in a similar way to the movie Jin Roh. However this movie adds many more elements to the... See full review

Blade of the Phantom Master

Feb 17, 2016

As someone who read the manga, I can say that they did a decent job animating the parts of the story that they did do. However, I think that some of the parts that were left out, were vital to making the story good for those who have no experience with the manga. It is for that reason I could not give the movie's story high marks.   The animation had no issues. It was fluid and done properly. However, nothing really jumped out at me about it one way or the other. So I gave it a 7 for being average. The Sound is also quite average. I feel the voice actors did a pretty good job and... See full review

InuYasha The Movie 1: Affections Touching Across Time

Feb 16, 2016

Inuyasha is a classic. There is barely any anime fan who has not at least heard the name. For me, this anime is what got me into being an anime fan all those years ago when I came across it on cartoon network. It is for this reason that I will always be a fan of Inuyasha even after I outgrew it. The story of this anime is decent. There is a reason for the series popularity after all. Although Inuyasha is a 3 trick pony and Kagome is a extremely emotionally volitile teenager who has become more and more annoying to me with age, it still has excellent sound track and the english voice actors at... Kurozuka

Feb 12, 2016

Kurozuka is a really artsy anime. It's quite different from most main stream anime in the way it presents it's story. As soon as you see Vampire and Romance as part of the tags you may be expecting a normal Vampire love story. You would be dead wrong. Honestly calling what is here Romance is quite skewed. This is a story of repitition for 2 people who will last till the end of time... well 1 and 1/2 people anyway. Your going to need some pacience to get through this anime but the action and some of the artistic ways they present the story will help you get through it. If you have read the manga... Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku

Feb 12, 2016

This Anime was pretty good. I sat through the whole thing in one sitting. If I had any real complaints about the story it would be that they build you up to what is going to happen and then you don't find out anything plot wise or who the girl ends up with. That being said, I think it's a excellent anime to entice romance lovers to check out the Otome game so if watched in that respect it is worth it. The animation was good for what it was. The cherry blossoms looked pretty nobody looked out of place or moved funny. The sound was good and I felt they used good voice actors for the different characters. I... See full review

Rurouni Kenshin: Seisouhen

Feb 9, 2016

I wanted to give the story a higher score, unfortunately I gave it the highest score I could give. The story of Kenshin is excellent and the ending part of this OVA series was exceptional and extremely emotional. However, the beginning seems to jump around excessively. I understand the point of the flashbacks is most likely to illustrate how Kaoru is thinking back about the past as she waits for Kenshin. However, if you decide to watch this OVA series you should definately have seen the anime or read up to the part with Enishi before watching this because the flashbacks would only confuse you if... Noblesse: Awakening

Feb 5, 2016

This OVA was done pretty decently. I wasn't expecting much but for what it was it delivered well. I felt fulfilled when I finished with it and thats really all that I ask for. The story is similar to the beginning of the webtoon but they crunch things together for time factor reasons I imagine. However, I think it would work as a excellent pusher of the webtoon (now if the webtoon is worth it is another matter and not really important to reviewing the OVA.)  The animation was actually pretty good. I had no issues with it at all. I saw no mistakes in character movements like that.  The... See full review

This movie was so horrible it was funny. Perhaps to some people that may make it worth the watch... but to me, I felt like I wasted my time. From the very outset when I heard the lame 80's theme song and saw the intro fight scene. I knew this movie was not going to be for me. However, because I had started it and it was only movie length I decided to continue watching to the end. The first thing you need to realize when you decide to watch this show is that it doesn't give out many answers or reasons for characters, events or other things happening within the show and the ones it does give out are... This is a show I procrastinated on for a while. The reason being that I had already tried the manga when it first came out but ended up dropping it. I was originally a fan of the Samurai Deeper Kyo Manga and so I naturally followed the author and tried to get into her next work... even though I usually HATE school life anime/manga with a passion. In the beginning it was good enough to keep my attention and it seemed interesting however after a while it went in a direction I didn't like and I dropped it. Rurouni Kenshin: New Kyoto Arc

Jan 28, 2016

Story Disclaimer: The scores I gave are based on previously reading the manga and watching most of the anime that came out years earlier. This is NOT a stand alone Anime OVA series. Basicly this is a retelling of one of the most intense parts of the series (not including Kenshin's past or when Kaoru is taken. Both of which have also gotten New animated OVA's as of late.) If you come to the series with knowledge from watching the previous show or reading the manga it is actually pretty good. Twilight of the Dark Master

Jan 28, 2016

At the end of this show.... I am not sure how I felt. It was not bad at all, but it was very weird. I'd say it's a decent way to spend a hour of your time if you like darker types of anime. The animation is not bad. It's older so taking that into account I gave it a 6.5. It doesn't feel off or anything. The sound is decent. The voice actors okay. What there was of music went with the tone of the show thought there was no ending song at all. The characters are in my opinion what made this show worth while to me. The main characters were all very deep and well fleshed out for such a short anime. Their... See full review

I tend to go for darker themed anime that has no little kids in it. It really limits what I can watch now a days, so I looked back to the past for anime I had never tried before and this anime movie was one of them. After watching it, I came to the conclusion that this is one of those shows that I will probably forget pretty quickly. That being said, I had no issue watching it to the end. The story was not bad per se, I just didn't really get into it like that but I also didn't feel compelled to turn it off or check how much more I had to watch either. Gangsta.

Jan 8, 2016

As a manga fan I feel that I am slightly bias toward this series that being said I tried to step outside my own opinion of the manga series and think only of the anime. The Story The story of the anime followed pretty close to the story of the manga. So in that regard it was pretty engaging. The biggest issue I with the story was how it ended. However, there are many anime that do similar things. If there ends up being another season. I would try it and so long as it tries to follow the manga story line I am sure I would like it.  The story is for mature audiences. It's gritty and dark so I would... See full review

Before I get bashed for not watching the entire movie... I watched it all (both ova episodes) Completely. In fact, I watched this anime for the sole reason that it was so hated because I found one of the reviews really funny. I don't think bad reviews are nessesarily bad for publicity. I think they are a good thing in this case. For such a crappy anime... it is good to go into it with little to no expectations. That way you can see it for what it really is and not constantly compare it to what you were hoping for. So here is what I have to say about it after seeing it. Story The story is crap... Karneval

Dec 31, 2015

I see a lot of people complain about Karneval here in the reviews but as someone who has enjoyed the whole anime quite a bit I wanted to voice my opinion as well. This is a fantasy anime, with that in mind, having things work the same way they would in real life would be boring. It's sopposed to be fantastical, so complaining about things not seeming believable would only work in my eyes if it was a singular hard to swallow event that was different than what is the norm shown thoughout the anime. I have found no such anomaly. Though many fantastical events happen throughout this anime that... See full review

Maybe I could like this as a game, where less story and character development is needed for it to be enjoyable to play, but as an anime... I could barely watch it to the end. First I will tell you what was actually decent. Though the animation is not the type I tend to enjoy it was done actually pretty well. I have seen tons of anime with Worse animation. The fight scenes were done well the characters movements were fluid so overall I gave the animation a 7.  The sound was done well too.
