So wanted to start it off saying that I am a fan of Shinkai's previous work. I've always found something to like in almost every film even his first ever movies that he made on his own. But I found this to probably be his worst work yet. His stories were always similar and/or fit the same theme. That's just what he does and I am use to/expecting it and that's exactly what we got, which was fine for me. However, this movie failed in visuals and sound. Which surprised me, as Your Name, Weathering with you, and Garden of Words were all aiming his future films to all be these well animated, beauitful films but... See full review
I came into this show as someone who found some enjoyment in Cyberpunk 2077 but not enough to really become a fan (I was uber hyped before it released like many). I am a huge Studio Trigger fan though. Story: I found the story to be very fun and engaging all the way up until the last few episodes where it lost me a bit before finishing off really nicely. I found the world more fleshed out and believable than what the game has done for the world of Cyberpunk. I also found the story in the anime more interesting than what we got in the game as well. Animation: It's studio Trigger... it's... See full review
Story: The story is fairly generic, it's your typical "Everyone gets powers, and the ml is considered weak by everyone but is actually the strongest", it's nothing special but it's also not bad. Just nothing really new from the genre. Animation: The animation is probably the worst aspect of the show, it's very subpar for most of the it. I wish it had as much of a budget as the opening/ending did. Lots of CGI and stiff movement, the art itself is fine but most of the colors are washed out and nothing really pops out. Sound: The opening/ending is a great song, but outside of that no outstanding... See full review
I don't understand why it needed a theatrical release for what was basically a mini-sequel to hold us over until season 2 came out. It was fine, it was more demon slayer. Budget wasn't that great for being a film, with some pretty poor tv grade CGI. Pretty subpar for being a Ufotable movie in terms of animation and sound. It's much like One Piece/Bleach/Naruto movies in terms of quality. But if you like Demon slayer, then you're gonna like this *Shrugs*
See full reviewI know that many people going in to see this film, myself included were expecting something that would be on par with Your Name or better. And I must say. I am very disappoinment, this film is good and something people should see but, because of the fact it came out after Your Name it would need to prove itself even more and it just doesn't. The animation felt cheaper with a lot more CGI scattered around the film and the animation/layers didn't really work well. Many backgrounds were easily noticable that they were CGI or not handdrawn like the characters playing on the screen. The music was something I was... See full review
I don't have any clue shows like this or Black Clover get so much hype around them. They're not terrible but no where close to be considered the best animes out there. The story is generic, but the art does save it with some cute moments and great fights to blur the negative parts a bit. But this is by far not even close to being titled "The best anime of all time" Top 50, maybe. Story: Guy goes on adventure for revenge and to save sibling/family member. Something seen many times. Animation: Good, but easily trying to mask cheap CGI that is sprinkled in it. Some good moments and cute... See full review
This was suprisingly very good, the story is very Disney-like/Big Hero Six but still well done enough to be entertaining. The premise and world are really well thought out and based on the ending, should have a TV show or another movie in the future. Which I will happily watch as well. It's not gonna be titled the best anime movie but it's really really good and worthy of getting a watch.
See full reviewFirst season: A mainstream hit that has little to no fault. With a unique and rememberful soundtrack and great animation with little to no CGI. Also many great and interesting action scenes Second season: Felt like an afterthought. Forced story progression, storylines that were way too long. Random scenes. A rip-off soundtrack that wasn't as good except for a handful of songs. Little to no action. CGI was through the roof with the show feeling like it was 40% CGI. Third season: A joke of a soundtrack, boring episodes, confusing story, a budget of a potato. 50-60% CGI. Has completely ruined my enjoyment of... See full review
An anime with a amazing visual and camera work that make me feel like I am watching a Fate related anime, it's a shame it's wasted with a bland girl who has mommy issues with a mother that is so unreal that I can't believe the narrative as it is so over the top for this kinda story. With the better character being sidelined after the first 2 episodes. Hoping they go back to her or give me a reason to care for the other girl. But so far it's a waste of hard work for the animators.
See full reviewOne of the better shows this season but not amazing or ground breaking. I really enjoy the world it's placed in and the cowboy bebop vibes I get but the backstory that keeps getting pushed aside and the generic B-villian gangsters that keep popping up just makes this almost an eposidc gangster fighting anime where I feel like the story barely progresses. I am hoping for more story based stuff as it continues but so far it's getting dull quickly.
See full reviewI find the world and art style really interesting as I really love "samurai era animes" and love battles with stragety and explainations. This anime isn't perfect and I feel like I'd need more story plot to understand 90% of the characters (I am lost with some of the stuff as it acts like I should know everyone) Not the best war anime I've watched as of late but not the worst. It sits in the middle for me. I felt that the last 3-4 years has been "Watchable but not great" or "god awful" are the only two types of shows I've found so far. Nothing this year so far or last few years... See full review
As someone who is automatically biased because I dislike vampire related animes as I feel most follow the same story types or tropes and I feel like they're bland but I still gave this one a shot. I'd say overall it's "watchable if nothing left is on" but it's not something I'd say you should go out and watch. Decent art style with a decent budget but 70% of the characters either have no story, don't talk, and haven't said there names enough for me to even remember anyones name. I don't even think I remember the main characters name. Forgettable but not god awful.
See full reviewA wannabe porn that is generic and boring. I have no clue why the creator of this manga didn't just take it to the other side of manga instead of keeping it semi-family friendly
See full reviewThis is a really good and unique anime that really surpised me this season. It has some well animated scenes with some cheap facial animations but is something you can ignore after you watch enough. The story pacing is very slow but isn't boring. They fill the time with important info or much needed character building. Yet another relaxing anime this season
See full reviewI think I have watched enough of the show to give it a review, It's a very relaxing anime that does nothing wrong but nothing amazing either. It's something you can just put on and turn your brain off. The characters are all nicely drawn but the animations are passable with a few negative details mixed in. The story itself is very very generic, where the girl and guy have to wait the whole season trying to figure out if they want to date and I expect this show to end with them not dating in hopes to create a second season. So it will just be a pointless show that will probably not get a second season based... See full review
I really enjoyed the first season, it did nothing unique but was well put together, and so I expeted the same or better in the next season and I must say I was shorly disappointed. The first 6 or so episodes were boring and the only good stuff related to loyalty with the followers of Ainz. I remember a reveal of a girl with a rubiks cube early in the show yet I have never seen her since?? Don't understand what this season is trying to do at all
See full reviewThis is a review for the entire show as a whole as I marathoned it all at once. The show itself is quite relaxing overall with some really emotional episodes sometimes and some really good characters. I really like the direction it went I think the only gripe I have to the story is the ending didn't get more into Natsume's past and the past that they did get into was the same stuff EVERYTIME. Every season talked about his bad past and how he likes his new family and friends EVERY season. I get it he is happier but jeez haha. Overall quite good, was a joy to watch. Surprised I haven't watched it sooner.
See full reviewAn enjoyable enough anime that you can just turn on and kill some time. Its not about a complex plot nor has any annoying tropes or fanservice. A safe and enjoyable show that did nothing wrong or nothing amazing. As simple terms as I can put it
See full reviewIt's sadly not what I really expected or wanted. Although not bad, it wasn't an anime about music but more about another genric love triangle highschool anime that doesn't even end with the main character dating or marrying his crush just leaves it open ended like many trashy light novel adaptations do.
See full reviewYet another fantasy Light novel show, had some good moments and some really good art design. But the show had WAY too many unaswered questions/lack of questions. I just turned my brain off when I watched it so it wasn't too bad but really wanted more. The main character is still really not explained well or more about what the older man knew and such.
See full reviewSurpsied I never watched this earlier, but wa'la I finally have. I found it kinda interesting and liked that it was in a college setting so it could do some more semi-mature stuff (Though 90% of the stuff was still highschool rated). Don't want to spoil the show but the ending was not what I really wanted sadly, I felt the connection between the two was weak and would have prefered him going with the other option. But oh well, at least they fixed the memory problems.
See full reviewThis is yet another genric "high stakes" anime that has a cheap animation budget and predicatable storyline. The story would have been a lot better if there was better suspense and challenges put into it but as is, it just reminded me of every other B-rate anime out there. If you are new to anime and think this is the "super cool" or whatever. To each there own I guess.
See full reviewLand of the Lustrous is one of the rare animes I have ever watched that is CGI that is watchable and although it's not perfect it tries it best to make it work with even some breathtaking scenes. The story is very unique and out of this world, as someone who had to read the manga afterwords just so I could see what happens next it spirals into weird and crazy ways that I did not expect. I hope it gets a second season as it was easily one of the best shows this season.
See full reviewHi, I am fairly new to reviewing stuff let alone anime but this is the kind of show I want to review mainly because of how disappointed I was. This entire anime is a Chinese rip off of Blue Exorcist. I don't mean it has same tones but it's the same EXACT story. It's about a young boy with a secret power who is assumed to be normal or sometimes weak but uses his secret power to defend others in secret or else (Well in this shows case for no reason). But the poor animation and the sad excuse of a soundtrack make this just a wasted potentional. This could have been a cool niche anime but instead is nothing... See full review
Note: This is a review only based off the first episode. The show itself has a weird premise that really does sound really wacky and if done right could be a really good show but sadly I found it really poorly made and the bad CGI effects really just make it hard to look at in some scenes. I could be wrong and this could turn out to be a lot better as more episodes come out but for the time being this will have to be dropped until I hear anything positive about this show.
See full reviewAs someone who has watched many shows, and enjoyed Season 1 for it's great animation and awesome sound track I was really hyped to finally watch Season 2 since it took so long to come out. To really be disapointed, the animation was terrible with CGI thrown all over and poorly drawn assests mushed around. You would think for a second season of one of the most popular animes would have a bigger budget then $5 including the fact that it was half the amount of episodes. But besides that the music itself wasn't that amazing with the same songs from last season being changed by a note or two doesn't really... See full review
This is my first review so sorry if its not amazing. But I have to say Magi: The Kingdom of Magic is amazing! I think its better then the original Magi which is strange since most of the time a animes first season or part is usally better then the next. Its great to look at, the music in it is amazing, and the story it self is unique and great. The only thing I can say bad about it was that I wish it was longer! But regardless its great and you will regret not watching it.
