Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High is a school for the extremely wealthy or, in Haruhi's case, the extremely talented. But no amount of talent will help when Haruhi accidentally drops an eight million yen vase in a music room. The vase was the property of Ouran High School Host Club, a group of attractive young men who, for a fee, provide their time and affections for their lovesick clientele: the female students. Fascinated by this strange new specimen, a poor and clumsy commoner, they force Haruhi to work for them until the debt is repaid; but they get a lot more than they bargained for...

If you like OHSHC or Kiss Him Not Me, you're sure to like the other! Both animes are reverse harems with an interesting female lead with an actual personality(something that isn't common in most reverse harems) with great comedy and quirky characters. Granted, in OHSHC the male characters are the more unusual characters, whereas it is the opposite in kiss him not me, with the male characters seeming normal in comparison to the main character. Enjoy!

hamletsmage hamletsmage says...

If you liked the reverse harem, almost BL scenes, the cosplay, the school life, and off-the-wall characters... Well, you're in for a treat. One takes place in an elite academy, the other stars an otaku... Either way, worlds are about to collide in these matching reverse harems. Like one, try the other.

AcchanXD AcchanXD says...

It is both about a girl who gets herself dragged into a reversed harem. In both anime's there is boy x boy love. both are funny in their own way!

jameswarrensaid jameswarrensaid says...

Though the stories and animation style are different, both of these animes feature reverse harems, dynamic female protagonists, and cute boys willing to do whatever it takes to win her love!

If you're interested in funny, slice-of-life anime that's lighthearted and sweet, OHSHC and Kiss Him Not Me are the pinnacle of the genre.

Kiss Him Not Me is as you know a reverse harem just like Ouran Highschool Host Club. Both anime involve an otaku, romance, friendship, and so much comedy you'll fall off the bed.In my personal opinion if you're looking for a better romance story I'd recommend Ouran Highschool Host Club,it has a flawless storyline beiginning to end it is a pity it doesn't have a season 2.Both anime are also very relatable whether it me debt, school life, otaku life,or just life in general.

Both series are full of comedy with some hints of romance. Both are reverse harems, and each guy has a different personality compared to the others.

ayyysh ayyysh says...

Both are reverse harems with a fun female lead who's just trying to live her life when her harem appears and changes everything. One's a fujoshi/otaku and the other is surrounded but fujosji and otaku themes. Both of the stories are super funny and just a cute fun time. Both sub and dub are great and make you laugh. All in all great plots would recommend you watch the other if you've watched one of them!

caitlin3435 caitlin3435 says...

The reason I have chosen this anime is that they are both similar in many ways. Like they are both romances and contain BL. The only difference is that one is a love triangle and the other isn't I believe. Another difference is that Kiss Him, Not Me is just normal students that aren't rich or anything. A similar thing that makes it the same is that each of the protagonists has different personalities.

Both anime involve the main character being a Fujoshi/Fudanshi (AKA Lover of Boys Love Manga/ Yaoi.). The main character is OBSESSED with two guys in a romantic relationship; so much so, that they don't care for being in a relationship themselves. The main character is also accompanied by a Fujoshi best friend, in which they talk about their favorite pairings.

Both anime have a very similar vibe, and the best part is, they came out in the same year!

hamletsmage hamletsmage says...

Both anime feature a sub-group of otaku that obsess over Boy-Love material. Whether it's pairing their favorite characters, or sneakily pairing their classmates, the leads of these shows see BL everywhere. Kiss Him is a reverse harem, while Highschool Life is more comedy, but these two pair rather well.

Both Animes Follow a MC who's surrounded by love interests of both genders who were drawn to the MC's personality

Both Follow a MC who's oblivious to the love of the other characters. (The romantic love at least.)

Both are lighthearted and fun Animes with lots of humour and drama, as well as MCs who are are loveable despite not being all that bright.

(SPOILERS FOR THE ENDINGS OF BOTH ANIMES!!!!!)

at the end of the animes, the MC never makes a decision on which of the love interests they want to spend their life with. they all stay as friends but vow to win the love of the MC regardless.

Both Characters undergo a change for My Next life as a villainess: All routes lead to doom it is a change of character because she remembers a past life. In Kiss him, Not me the change is physical as the Female lead loses weight. They are both reverse gardens with both boys and girls falling in love. Both try to set up the people who are in love with them with others in the harem.

They both have 'stuck in a romantic comedy but are not interested in romance'.  Though both mc are surrounded by hot guys who are interested in them, it becomes a comedic but sweet meaningful friendship instead of romance.

Same premise really. A female protagonist who is basically forced into a rom com out of their free will. They also have similar personalities with the classic men from all rom coms. Pretty and badass protagonists for both. Similar vibes for both shows.

As if living with these “radiant creatures” who give her constant nosebleeds isn’t hard enough, she soon discovers that the boys have made a bet with her aunt: in exchange for free rent, they will try to mold Sunako into a magnificent lady. As someone who has cast aside all her femininity and sworn to live in darkness, Sunako is ready to do whatever it takes to nullify these efforts; but is there a way for the creatures of darkness and light to coexist?

Both are good reverse harem animes.  Each protagonist are strong independant but way quirky that are definitely enduring to the other characters.  Each time Kae Serinuma went into otaku mode I swear it reminded me of Sunako when she shrinks down to chibi mode.  Both are not too serious and i couldn't decide which guy I liked better from them.  The guys were also very similar that each shared a character type, the agressor, the smarty, the gentle and the perfect.  But if you boil it down both had a message of being yourself and others will find that beautiful.

Both anime feature a character who has recently lost a ton of weight and is suddenly quite attractive to those around them. While Kae (the protagonist of Kiss Him Not Me) did not try to lose weight and is initially scared of her potential suitors, Masamune purposefully sought out his new body specifically to become popular with girls. However both characters have a great deal of trouble adjusting to life in their new bodies and hilarity ensues. Both characters are quite endearing and the supporting characters in both anime are interesting. We also are not sure at this point in either anime who the main character will end up with or how their relationships will play out. Personally I am looking forward to more from both shows!

They both have character protagonists who both lost tons of weight and become super popular. While Masamune is more about revenge, Kae's is more lighthearted seeing that five guys now regret treating her badly when she was fat.

I recommend this anime because it revolves around one girl being surronded by alot of guys.  I am really bad at describing anime, so i am going to post the discription, not knowing if it will pop up or not with the title. Propably, but this discription is from kissanime.ru

Description:

Kae Serinuma is a second year high schooler and an avid fujoshi who secretly ships her classmates, Igarashi-kun and Nanashima-kun. The death of her favorite anime character causes her to become stressed—and loses weight rapidly. Now that Serinuma has become an attractive girl to her classmates, her snarky kouhai Shinomiya-kun, and her senpai Mutsumi, how is she going to deal with them ...with her constant BL-filled, fujoshi mind?!

Description of Kamigami no Asobi:

The story revolves around Kusanagi Yui, who is ordered by Zeus, a god and the headmaster of a school he created, to teach the meaning of love to young and handsome gods. The reason he has for doing this is to cancel the negative effects of the weakening bond between the world of the divine and the world of the humans.
