BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.

She may be new to gaming, but Maple has found the secret to invincibility! Just put all your skill points into defense until you can’t even move. That works, right? She doesn’t want to experience any pain in the VRMMO game she started playing, and somehow it works better than anyone expected. Now she’s got followers??

Both are fantasy anime where the female MC has maxed out her level and is completely overpowered (though in BOFURI the MC maxed out her defense, but is still a formiable opponent). Both of the female leads form a party of girls that behave like a family. The party have a variety of character types and support each other during their adventures. If you like cute but overpowered girls who want to just establish a peaceful life both these shows fit the bill.

Littlesilverwolf Littlesilverwolf says...

Both are anime that are female main character. The whole mood of the anime is happy and cheerful. Plus, there is no love relationship but only family relationship between the characters.

HypnoSpeaker HypnoSpeaker says...

Both anime have an overpored MC and the MCs start their adventures alone and gain friends along the way :)

LuckyBerserker LuckyBerserker says...

Both are happy and cheerfull anime in a fantasy setting and both have overpowered female protagonists.

TheWarlord951 TheWarlord951 says...

Both shows focus on charaters that are too op. They are both wholesome with a bit of slice of life. Boths are about the mc's getting surrounded by people whom admire and befriend them. In "Bofuri" they focus on friends and continue to expand the friend group. In "I've Been Killing Slime for 300 Years" they focus on friend's as family and they get more members of this family.

Both good, with OP mc. One is a reincarnation isekai slice of life and the other is a progressive MMORPG. 5/5 both ways

Both anime feature someone from another world who is brought to a world and, rather than going out and adventuring, settle down and help the people around them. They live near a village and gather a "family" around them.

Littlesilverwolf Littlesilverwolf says...

Both anime do not have much fighting and mainly giving a more peaceful atmosphere. The mains are people who transport to another world and given a new chance to live a much slower and happy life with their new 'family'

It feels like it was made to be a side by side comparison.

It's almost the same anime. both animes characters are adorable too.

ZanKraken ZanKraken says...

They are very similar.

Both are slow paced, peaceful, minimal conflict and adorable characters.

Senorjordan Senorjordan says...

Both slice of life animes but one is an OP Mc from the start and in the other strenght doesn't really matter

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid

Miss Kobayashi is your average office worker who lives a boring life, alone in her small apartment–until she saves the life of a female dragon in distress. The dragon, named Tohru, has the ability to magically transform into an adorable human girl (albeit with horns and a long tail!), who will do anything to pay off her debt of gratitude, whether Miss Kobayashi likes it or not. With a very persistent and amorous dragon as a roommate, nothing comes easy, and Miss Kobayashi's normal life is about to go off the deep end!

Kobayashi's dragon maid & killing slimes for 300 years are both fantasy animes with yuri & GL fanservice, cute wholesome vibes, comedy, a dragon girl in the main cast (Tohru from dragon maid and Laika from killing slimes), and deal with isekai/"reverse isekai" which are basically two sides of the same coin.

Kaiten456 Kaiten456 says...

If you like slice of life tales of adventures with cute characters, both of these animes will be for you. They both follow supernatural tropes and are more for the light hearted, slice of life feeling. Though in all sense, you'll probably enjoy Kobayashi san chi no maid dragon, in my experience.

molopower molopower says...

Though the setting is vastly different, "I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level" feels similar in nature to Dragon maid, after all, the tight family dynamic is almost identical. I personally prefer this show to Miss Kobayashi.

wucchu wucchu says...

Both animes have similar fantasy-type characters that include a GL-type atmosphere. They both have a slow life story with lots of comedy with a bit of taste of adventure. The main difference is that Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid's main character didn't get teleported to another world even though the dragons did come from there.

She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man

She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man

Sakimori Kagami has woken up in the world of Arch Earth Online, a VRMMORPG he's been playing intensely for a long time. The catch? He made some adjustments to his character when he last logged on, which he thought he hadn't saved. Instead of his normal avatar of an old, bearded sorcerer, he's in the body of a young woman! Now he must convince the people of this world that he--she--is a pupil of the wiseman who vanished without a trace thirty years ago.

I thnk this two are very simillar works because in both main character is overpowered and both are fantasy comedies that are  putting exactly the same kind of humour forth.

Kenya1007 Kenya1007 says...

They are both have the similar reincarnation trope, but I think She professed herself pupil of the wiseman is a bit more similar to strongest mage with weakest crest.

They are both about reincarnated magic users that use magic in a way that made them over powered. They both are cute but reincarnated as a slime is more gore driven then killing slimes, They both are exciting and cute and have a good amount of story.

SmellieC SmellieC says...

Both involve slimes isekis and leveling up. "Reincarnated has a more complex story line that weaves in world building and sociology. In my opinion it's the better anime.

I've always thought that I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years was a female lead slice of life version of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime minus the fanservice and add some fluff. But has a quarter to half the popularity.

Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!

Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!

Kurihara Misato was a little more capable than other high school girls, and as a result, she was always alone and couldn't live her life the way she wanted. When she was reincarnated in another world after a tragic accident, she wanted a chance to make normal friends and live a normal life. So she asked God for one thing... "Give me abilities that are average for that world!" But the abilities God gave her were not "average" at all... And now this girl, who's been reborn in a world where magic is real, struggles to find simple, ordinary happiness!

Yuna's not your typical 15-year-old. First, she's crazy rich from playing the stock market. Second, she's a recluse obsessed with a VRMMO game, and she's really good at that too. Her life is pretty much perfect—until she wakes up one day inside the game she loves and back at level one. She has to start over, but this time, she has a powerful bear suit that's guaranteed to take her places!

I think both anime has chille fantasy vibe. Just isekai where anime concentrates on fantasy world but in peaceful way I would say. I know that it has only one episode yet but I think that both animes are something you can relax after long day or something.

wucchu wucchu says...

Both animes include a main character who gets a burnout from their job and receives another at life by being teleported to another world. Neither of the animes include too much fighting or any other violent scenes thus they're both chill and easy to relax with.

The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent

The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent

Sei, a 20-year-old office worker, is whisked away to a whole new world. Unfortunately for Sei, the ritual that summoned her—meant to produce a “Saint” who would banish the dark magic—brought two people over instead of one. And everyone prefers the second girl over Sei?! But this is just fine by Sei, who leaves the royal palace to set up shop making potions and cosmetics with her newfound magic. Business is booming, and this might not be such a bad life, after all…as long as her supposed Sainthood doesn’t come back to haunt her.
