They both feature a young girl as the protagonist, and an age-gap romance/relationship with an old dude. They're of similar artstyle, atmosphere, and tone as well despite their different settings.

It's about unusual love. And in both cases especially the male characters have a hard time understanding *lol* The visual designs of both animes may be very different, but they are beautiful and heartwarming. Another think they have in common is, that both female leads are strong characters (from soe point on) and are dealing with injuries (though they differ in appearance. One having physical and the other emotinal ones)

Koi Kaze

Koi Kaze

However, there is one catch -- this girl named Nanoka is his sister, who he has not seen in years. Knowing that their forbidden love will always be scrutinized by society; will Koushirou and Nanoka be able to resist the temptation?

Both Koi Kaze and Love is Like After the Rain are Age Gap Romance anime. The characters are very similar as well with the older male MCs acting nervously, unsure of how to respond to the affection, confessions of the younger female MCs. None the less both anime are wonderful Slice of Life, Seinen anime with plenty of drama to keep the older audiences hooked and very entertained.

Koi Kaze covers similar topics, pushes the envelope and still manages to provide a relatable, (pun intended) "down to earth" story about a questionable lifestyle.

The similarity between those ties lies in both its protagonist and the romance it presents. In After the Rain, we have a potential romance that has an age gap between Akira, a teenager and her manager, who is an adult with a son. While in Inu x Boku we have a potential romance between a teenager by the name of Ririchiyo and her bodyguard, who is an adult.

The way in which these two differ is their themes as After the Rain is more grounded in reality, Inu x Boku SS has more fantasy related themes such as Japanese mythology.

The other similarity is the type of protagonist that both of these shows have, which is someone that has become socially awkward due to different circumstances. Akira is more the reserved type while Ririchiyo ends up being rude in fear of letting others to get to know her.

Both animes are comedic age cap stories where a high school girl falls in love with an older guy. The main difference between these animes is that in After the rain the man doesn't push himself on to the girl.

This recommendation is somewhat out of left field, given that After the Rain is airing on TV in 2018 and Video Girl Ai was a six-episode OVA that was released in the early 1990s.  But both series have that certain something that captures how uncanny one-sided love can be.  To be sure, there is not much on the surface for our protagonist girls to love: Moteuchi Youta is a "dateless" high-school student who has no luck with girls and whose heart aches because he cannot win the heart of Hayakawa Moemi while Moemi-chan, in turn, cannot have the heart of Youta's best friend Niimai Takashi; Kondo Masami, for his part, is a career restaurant manager who has split with his wife and has only visitation rights with his son, and the bulk of the staff at the Garden Cafe can take him or leave him.  But Amano Ai in Video Girl Ai and Tachibana Akira in After the Rain each manage to enter the worlds of these seemingly feckless guys and, in the words of Ai-chan, find "good points" that lead each girl to love them.  What is more, each story spends a good deal of time and energy exploring the effects and consequences of Ai-chan's and Tachibana-kun's choices to love whom they love.  While neither will likely appeal to viewers looking for heavy doses of fighting or other action sequences, each has the potential to touch the heart of those who gravitate to romantic slice-of-life dramedies.

Sing "Yesterday" for Me

Sing "Yesterday" for Me

Rikuo has graduated from college, but has zero ambition or direction and works in a convenience store. A strange high-school dropout, Haru, keeps coming around with her pet crow. Rikuo still has a crush on his senior Shinako, who is beginning a teaching career, and who shows up in the store one day. Rikuo's relationships with the girls, and his feelings about his life, keep changing as the story evolves, bringing in other important characters—Rikuo's co-worker, the coworker's sister, and a childhood friend of Shinako's, etc.

Both are melodrama. The animation of the surrounding is just beautiful. After the rain doesn't just focus on the romance between the characters. It reveals the hardships the 2 character go through while chasing their dreams and trying to fulfill the promise they've made to themselves but had long forgotten. Violet evergarden also shows how Violet overcomes her disadvantages and how she arrives to understand emotions better. Basically both shows are about the progress they've made after meeting certain people or gaining something while working. Both are wonderful animes that show you new perspectives.
