Breathtaking, movingly written, and sweeping reimagining of the epic story. As a fan of the original series, I was very intrigued to see this along with the new characters, plot lines, and other elements included in this version. While the CGI anime style differs from the traditional 2D in the first series, it is nevertheless visually enveloping and awesome to immerse yourself in. A pulse-pounding and deeply in depth anime version of the amazing video game series! The style is fantastically smooth and retains the drama and internally-driven grit of the original storyline. The characters were just as intriguing, rich, and complex as in the games and I was very pleased how they were written in the series, really made them all the more interesting. Probably one of the best anime of it's category if not the best. Gorō Taniguchi is an amazing director and you clearly can see how much heart and brain he puts into this series. Ridiculously funny while mocking classic superhero teams, kanji and zombie cinema. I honestly preferred this OVA more than Valentine's Day and the main anime series as the central characters actually come off as more relatable, funny, and easy to like (except for Sekai personally to an extent). Thrillingly entertaining, over-the-top, lewdly funny, mecha epic... and no doubt one of my favorite titles in the Tenchi Muyo franchise. One of the most shockingly lewd, thrilling and mentally-twisting anime I have seen to date. Hardcore, perversely hilarious and psychologically trying. The trials the five guys go through literally feel so relatable, it is almost as if you are in the same prison with them and fighting to survive, physically and internally. I have read and watched different mediums of fiction where women in positions of dominance is the main premise, yet this anime practically explodes full force with it. Admittedly I enjoyed this OVA a degree more than the initial series mainly for the ridiculous, creepy, and wild comedic air at the center of it, plus the fact Itou Makoto is more likable and easy to sympathize with (as far as tormented harem protagonists are), especially with his female peers each forcing him to accept their chocolates (not to mention Taisuke). Not bad for an early 2000s anime. I found this one mildly funny although it kind of left more to be desired in my opinion. The plot was more or less basic and most of the characters were entertaining hilariously, still it did not grab me for some reason.  The main male protagonist was okay yet Natsu and her aunt were the only two characters who I really liked. While I love Samurai-themed anime, this one did not excite me as much as I thought it would but made me laugh when the humor was well struck. It's not terrible but at the same time kind of meh. 

Heartfelt Slice of Life comedy that captures the drama and misadventures of sports teams plus the struggles of adolescence beautifully. This anime was suggested to me by a friend and while sport-themed fiction is not really my forte, I love how it addresses young love, teamwork, overcoming self-doubt and doing ones best regardless of the odds. I watched this anime on suggestion from a friend and am DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH IT. I have seen different robot/cyborg themed anime before (primarily action super hero ones) yet this was something special. A Slice of Life Romantic Comedy with the right amount of heart, humor and harrowing moments that draw you in wanting to see more. This anime is a very mixed bag. On the good side it illustrates well how confusing, emotionally tepid and trying love-especially young love can be merged with unresolved emotions and sense of true devotion while on the bad, exploring the consequences of infidelity. Although I wish it defied and steered away from certain established and over-used tropes present in the Harem, Ecchi and High School genres. Smart, pulse-pounding and beautifully exciting and tragic series. "Death Note" is that enveloping mind-bending anime that excels viscerally and intellectually while telling a classic and contemporary tale illustrating the battle to attain divine power, the consequences in seeking it and how despite ones cleverness and ambition can be their own downfall as a result of their own hubris. One of those classic anime that wins you over even when you don't think you will enjoy it at first. That was exactly my first standpoint on this anime before I eventually relented and watched it. A unique ode to both Dystopian and Western fiction that strikes a chord with the viewer. Literally one of the first anime I have ever seen that both scared, captivated and broke me to a significant extent. The plot is a basic one however it draws upon and pulls at ones psychological and emotional heart strings as the viewer is also seemingly lured along with Eiri, by Cossette's seeming innocence and endless torment. Exceptionally thrilling, passionate and intriguing season that surpases the previous two as it tests the characters limits, raises the stakes and addresses the subjects of prejudice and how it often takes one person to make a difference when there's heated division between two opposing ends. Entertaining if not in-depth second season for an anime of this genre. Definitely found myself amused by the plot lines centered around the conflict with the Apollo and Ishtar familias. This third and final film in the trilogy certainly was a degree more harrowing, spine-tingling and emotionally gripping than the previous two films. Even though the reimagining of Godzilla and Ghidorah were sort of intriguing yet at the same time unusual and took away from what made those kaiju incredible when they were originally conceived. This CGI film trilogy certainly is not a version the famous kaiju deserved and this sequel to the first film despite having some promising ideas really did not improve in terms of character and plot development. Epic though it was, how it completely changed Godzilla from the creature fans know and adore was both odd and really confusing. As a longtime Godzilla fan I found this reimagining of the kaiju not quite impressive, awe-inspiring or central to the plot compared to previous screen representations. Having Godzilla appear as a naturally-formed being and not a flesh-and-blood creature made the character seem entirely different and alien to what a lot of fans know and love about him. One of the most hilariously whirlwind anime I have ever seen! It cleverly surprises, shocks and amuses with phenomenal animation, overly funny and dynamic characters and a plot that goes in so many directions thought still keeps youn egaged no matter how outrageously funny and perverse it can be at times. This anime vaugely reminded me of another I remembered from my childhood and while it's not as popular as other mecha anime, it does have enjoyable aspects to it. While the plot is basic and most of the characters are far from admirabble, still it does present a heartfelt, and engaging story concerning wrestling with personal desires and duty, prejudice towards different races and all the drama culminating in between. It's a fun watch for lovers of 80s anime. While I personally prefer the Gundam franchise more, this one is not without its perks.

A thrilling, emotionally engrossing and incredibly well-written Science Fiction anime! Stunning, pulls at the heart strings in a myriad of directions and is a psychedelic post-apocalypse mind flip. I was hooked on this one from the very first episode with powerful and relateble characters, amazing creature designs with a pulse-pounding plot-it's a powerhouse of an anime for anyone who enjoys epics of its genre. 

Gripping and timelessly resonant story that so succinctly addresses the dilemma of what makes us human. Truly one that touches any soul and represents the conflict between humanity and inhumanity that Jiro faces throughout his trials. A great and thought-provoking anime that reaches deep on an internal and mental level, where we find ourselves along with Jiro seeking a life and world were we can be ourselves, regardless what sets us apart. It is engrossing and passionate in tone, characters and screenwriting. A must-see that left me breathless and wanting so much for Jiro in the end.
