Prince of Tennis came out during the same time period as Naruto. A very similar plot formula, great music as well. Echizen from PoT is a much more talented and cold character than Naruto and is much smarter. But, I find myself liking Echizen more because he isn't as annoying. Overall, I think the two anime go hand-in-hand.

As hard of a connection as this may seem, both charas seem to come up with new moves every battle. Both are prodegies in their own respects. Teams are formed and many sibling rivalries take place.

animegal33 animegal33 says...

Both Naruto and Prince of Tennis have a main character as a boy who is dedicated to something (Naruto to becoming Hokage and Ryoma to getting better at tennis and beating his father). They both also have to face obsticles as they try to reach their goal. Both of these main characters grow everytime they "fight" (Ryoma "fights" on the tennis court).

Action, action, action -- Naruto's got ninjas, and Groove Adventure RAVE has a guy with a huge sword...and a little creature with a horn. Both series achieve a good mix of comedy and action with an overarching plot, but Groove Adventure RAVE delves deeper with its characters and goes farther in terms of storytelling.

Prisoner1138 Prisoner1138 says...

Lots of action and comaraderie your thing? Then go watch Groove adventure rave. Sure, it doesn't feature ninjas, ninjutsu, or even ninja weapons, but it still has enough swordplay, magic, and the occasional twist to keep things interesting.

Eleventh Eleventh says...

Rave and Naruto are feel-good anime series with some depth! They are suitable for all ages with strong (if overly simplified) didactic themes. They are perfect for the young anime beginner, and have enough episode longevity to keep you occupied for a while.

Kyo has a similar youthful, angsty feel like Naruto. You have a young man with great inner, but evil power, much like Uzumaki Naruto. The animation stylings are similar, nothing spectacular, but nothing to complain about. Great action, deep character explorations as well.

VRDave VRDave says...

Naruto is a little more light hearted, but if you want a newer anime series that has lots of action and fighting. I can almost gaurantee you'd like Naruto.

sarwor248 sarwor248 says...

Both Naruto and Samurai Deeper Kyo are about someone with a demon living inside them. The fighting is very similar, and a lot of the side characters are interesting too.

If you like Naruto or Tenjou Tenge for its intensive fights, special shining powers, extensive flashbacks and interesting yet weird characters, you will like the other. But be ware that the story pace is very different for each one, since TenTen is much faster and Naruto takes many episodes to develop.

motoman9213 motoman9213 says...

In both Naruto and Tenjho Tenge the main characters are young kids who strive to become stronger, and so they find themselves in fights quite frequently. While the fighting styles are a little different both shows have insane moves and incredibly powerful people that are just unrealistic. Just like in Naruto some of the main characters in Tenjho Tenge like someone who would rather be with their rival so you'll see them constantly get turned down. Overall if you want a show with a lot of action and a decent story then you should check these series out.

Both anime incorporate extremely varied fighting techniques, which produce very entertaining fights. Also, both are (for the most part) a light-hearted anime.

They both have a tendency to make the "bad guys" seem like good guys who are just misunderstood or were led astray at some point, too. Oh what happened to the good old days when a villain was just evil, instead of a deeply-hurt and emotionally-scarred tree-hugger?

While Naruto has more story depth and episodes of the two, Law of Ueki will more than likely be the funner ride.

MeloColi MeloColi says...

In both Naruto and Law of Ueki there is action and comedy. The characters have special powers and want to protect everyone, and both of them make friends with almost all of their enemies.

closetanimefan closetanimefan says...

Both of these anime center around main characters that want to protect their friends, convert their emenies into friends, and don't seem like the strongest people at first. They also both have strong mentor characters, a lot of action, and female characters that tell the main character what an idiot he is being. If you liked one, I think there is a strong chance you will like the other

Both PMK and Naruto deal with a young boy trying to make it as a warrior/fighter. You will love the main character and his surrounding cast that helps him in life and fights.

Kiaso Kiaso says...

Both animes have a positive lead who will do anything to become stronger, but then realizes on their own what true strength is. Both lost their parents at a very young age and had to grow up faster than those around them. However, Peacemeker is much darker than naruto but has comedic moments that takes the edge off. If you liked one you will more than likely like the other.

pushthenpull69 pushthenpull69 says...

Both center around a boy that has no parents anymore, wants to be strong, taken seriously, get respect, and has to learn how to be a man.  Both involve the boy being taught by other samurai in the clan.  Both boys have the same basic personality, loud, impulsive, and melancholy when reflecting on his own failings.  Hell the voice even sounds the same..  Peacemaker at least has a plot anchored in actual history, and has less of the chi-magic plot elements, though it also seems to have a bit of shojo-ai.

This anime is just like Naruto based on friends and friendship which you'll need to accomplish your goals. They both have to undertake 'impossible' quests to protect their friends and be happily ever after! That's why you'd like both these animes!

DeDaan DeDaan says...

Both anime's are about the main character who wants to complete his goal and has its own kind of way of making it. During that journey he makes new friends who will help to reach this goal. Also both anime's include good fighting scene's.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn is seriously my favourite anime ever! Naruto comes in second place. If you love action, awesome characters, comedy, just bear with the first arc until you meet the best anime characters to ever exist - the Varia! You won't regret it!

Blue Exorcist

Both series focus on male lead characters that have qualities about themselves that they have no control over. Naruto with the demon fox, and Rin is Satan's son. Both characters are hunted and mistreated in similar ways. Naruto and Rin also strive towards the better side of their humanity and fight to protect people they love. They also have similar goal sets that are very long term - Naruto wants to be Hokage, and Rin wants to defeat Satan. Both of these goals are nobel and very hard to obtain. If you like(d) Blue Exorcist or Naruto i would series check whatever series you haven't seen out.

discospider discospider says...

Both are centered around "demon" children who don't quite belong and are finding their way in some sort of academy/school. For those who like shounen action animes, these two are pretty similar except for their run time.

pitypancake pitypancake says...

I feel that the main characters have a very similar thing going on, with the whole extra power thing, but despite that power they are quite clueless individuals. Basically, you could switch the two characters in their respective animes and the stories wouldn't change much. Change out the ninjas for exorcists. Naruto, being longer, of course has more character development and more story (how could it not, with a gazillion episodes) but they are both a good watch, especially if what you like is the main character in either.

plot is very different, obviously, but in both there's a similar lovable hectic protagonist who yearns to be acknowledged. both shoyo and naruto possess a fatal physical flaw that stands between them and their goal, but instead of dwelling on attempts to fix what can't be fixed, they search for effective ways to weaponize and use it to their advantage. naturally, a black haired depressed rival guy comes with the package.

Inu230 Inu230 says...

Natural talent, tenacity, innate abilities, lack of care for physical harm, teamwork, individual skills, hands-on-learning, a goal to shoot for. All these things are present in both Haikyuu!! and Naruto.

Both anime start with a male main character who wants to be great at their respective dream {hokage/volleyball}. Both m.c’s have a confrontation with another they view as their rival and become reluctant teammates. Physicality is a factor in the dislike of these rivals as is personality.

Main protagonists have seemingly endless energy and give their all to reach their dream.

Academics are an obstacle for the m.c’s and more than once impede their progress.
