I think you will like Fruits Basket if you liked Full Moon wo Sagashite, because it has the same sort of jokes and it's also very sad in some parts. It's a beautiful anime with the same feeling as Full moon wo Sagashite.

Fruits Basket and Full Moon are filled with tragedy, but ultimately, both stories are incredibly uplifting.  Also, Fruuba's Tohru and Full Moon's Mitsuki have similar personalities; each girl is a very positive, inspiring, likable character.

Both Fruits Basket and FMoS are cute series in which the heroes always protect the naïve heroines. The sweet & goofy atmospheres are also very pleasant and funny, but the anime also have serious parts which will make you wonder about the true motives of the different characters.

If you've watched "Full Moon wo Sagashite" then I would recommend this series. Fruits Basket's main character is somewhat similar to Mitsuki but with her own problems; problems getting close to somebody that she loves.

they are both a fun anime with loveable charicters and if you like the whole thing about people that are animal-ish, then you would like both! plus they are both very funny and get a little more seriouse at the end (although fruits basket more than full moon)

You can't help but cheer for the protagonists as they work hard to overcome hardships. In Full Moon you want to see the poor sick girl achieve her dreams and become a singer. In Fruits basket you want to see Tohru break the curse and become happy living with the sohmas.

Ruavel Ruavel says...

Both anime have the same mood and the same optimistic manner of thinking and acting. Main characters are like sisters, with a tragedy behind, but still kind, helpful and loving.

Full Moon being my very first real anime I started watching and Fruits Basket the first one I sat the whole thing through, (and thoroughly enjoyed), I found an easy transition between the two due to their similarities. The same type of humour, jokes and the art quality really make these two stand out. If you like one, I strongly suggest you try the other.

Full Moon and Kaleido Star really have a lot in common without being so similar that its boring to watch both (like Evangelion and RahXephon). Talented young girls strive to express themselves via their chosen artistic medium, singing and circus acts.

Both series are long, so if you are looking for something that will last, is entertaining and feel-good (mostly), this is for you.

Kaleido Star and Full Moon wo Sagashite are both well worth watching. Their storylines and plot developments are pretty contrasting, but there are key elements that are the same. The main protagonist of both anime (Kaleido Star - Sora, Full Moon - Mitsuki) have very big dreams and goals that they strive to reach, as well as an exceptional amount of dedication, perserverance, and creativity. Both Kaleido Star and Full Moon wo Sagashite have the capability of drawing you into the show so much that you might have the urge to cheer for the characters, or at least, hope that they are one step closer to their goal. If you've enjoyed watching either Sora or Mitsuki, you'll definitely enjoy watching the other attempt to reach their biggest dreams and aspirations.

In both Kaleido Star and FMoS the main character is a young girl who wants to follow her dreams, but of course she finds a lot of obstacles in her way. Both Full Moon wo Sagashite and Aishiteruze Baby make you in a good mood when watching eventhough the background story for both series is actually quite sad. They can both be abit too childish and somewhat annoying at times but then again the story is about kids.

If you enjoye the tearinducing aspects of an anime, the tragic and heartjerking drama... then you should enjoy either of these two shows.

Full Moon wo Sagashite is filled with tradgedy and sad moments, Aishiteruze Baby less so, though enough to dampen the eyes of any one with a heart. Ofcourse, there are also happy and funny moments in both shows but it is the drama that makes them good. So grab a hanky and get to watching!

TropicalMist TropicalMist says...

Both anime have the same atmosphere and mood to it's characters. I felt like they were both aimed at the same type of audience (preteens or girls in high school).

The plot and story each had its own twists and turns and "major problems of the day". However, character develops were made gradually and not at one specific episode.

I think they each had their own "cute" moments as well which gives it the same feel in general. There's no dramatic ending or surprise, so they're both relaxing and light watches.

Both are made by Arina Tanemura. Both series has a strong girl as main character. The character design is also nearly alike. There is love, fun and tragic in both series. Full Moon is singing for the guy she loves, Jeanne fighting for the people (friends, parents) she love.

Both anime are very "lovey-dovey". The main characters in both anime are the heroic, considerate type, and is welcomed by the guys... Both anime has some type of unrealistic or fantasy/magic to it. And let's not forget those time-consuming transformations from a normal person to someone else.

Both Full Moon wo Sagashite and Princess Tutu are cute stories about music that get you into the mood of wanting to watch another one. Both anime are based on the power of will and the power of wanting to help someone in need.

theninja theninja says...

Both are fantasy series which become deeper and more serious as they progress. The first episodes reveal the characters and the plot but as the plot unravels, unexpected instances occur. You never know what could happen next. Both involve transformations (as Mitsuki becomes her 16-yr old self and Ahiru becomes Princess Tutu.) Both female protagonists begin having an ideal version of their loved one and end with a different idea. What I enjoyed the most about both of these series was seeing how love was portrayed as unexpected -- strong but never in the place you expect it to be. In both cases, the characters are fighting against forces that cannot be won, yet the courage and the willingness of these characters to do whatever it takes for their loved one is unbelievable and breathtaking.

Aburi Aburi says...

These two shows are both feel good types with a heavy emphasis on music (Full Moons singing and Princess Tutus dance) They both look childish on the surface but are really very meaningfull. And finally they both have a very well written bittersweet story. I got teary eyed watching both of these.

Kodocha

Kodocha

11 year-old Sana Kurata is a positive, upbeat child actress with a rather odd life. She was adopted as a baby by an eccentric novelist who wears a live squirrel in her hair, her acting career is managed by a (former) homeless man who Sana unabashedly claims is her "gigalo", and at school her teacher has completely lost control of her classroom due to a group of blackmailing bullies led by "demon child" Akito Hayama. With her whole class in danger of failing, Sana decides she's had enough of Akito's nonsense at school and challenges him. The whole school is ready for a showdown as these strong personalities collide, but as the two very different kids learn more about each other, something unexpected happens. Is it possible for sworn enemies to become fast friends?

Kodocha and Full Moon are cute, romantic stories about one girl chasing her dreams.  Both contain elements of stardom, unrequited love, and melodrama.  Most importantly, each show explores the idea of very young (we're talking elementary school) girls in love.

Kodocha's Sana and Full Moon's Mitsuki are very strong protagonists, because they are easily likable: both are hardworking, passionate, and neither girl lets fame go to her head.

KnO and FMoS are both packed with comedy, romance, and drama - but they will also entertain you and astonish you on many different levels. You won't forget them because they leave a mark on your memory, due to their unusual story twists and perfect conclusions.

Both of these animes have similarites in being about child stars, young love, and comedy! The main characters both fall in love with people unexpectedly, and are extremely hard workers. One difference is that Kodocha is more fast paced and hyper than Full Moon, but I think that makes watching them both more interesting. If you enjoyed Full Moon you will definetly enjoy Kodomo No Omocha.

A dead boy helping a girl in trouble while being in his ghost form,a girl who is determend to acheive her dream and an imposibble love are the things that represent these two animes. Both girls don't live with their parents but they make many friends and learn each day that you have to go through a lot of pain and suffering before you can make your dream come true. Even though the endings are different, both series have that something special in common

DreamChaser DreamChaser says...

Both of these series contain a girl who is trying to become famous and improve her talent. In Ginban Kaleidoscope it's figure skating, and in FMwS it's singing. Both have romance as a main theme in the plot, and they each have something foreboding overshadowing that same romance to create suspense. While the pacing is slower in Full Moon wo Sagashite due to the different lengths, I definitely think a fan of shoujo stories like these would love both.

TropicalMist TropicalMist says...

While watching Ginban Kaleidoscope, I couldn't help but think about how much it reminded me of FMwS.  Not only because some of the character design (o_O?) but because of the interaction between the characters.

Both female counterparts are TOTALLY different, but what they both have to face is really similar.  They're both young, and thrown into a world of stardom and trying to be the best at what they do.  I felt that with the touch of romance (with guys that no one else can see?), the bittersweet resolution at the end really ties the knot between these two.
