wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

There are harrowing occurrences in each Myself; Yourself and H2O with the same type of set up of a light comedy in the beginning followed by a sudden twist of fate revealing the tragic past of a main character.

shanachan shanachan says...

Both guys get in a new place. They get to know everyone yet they get interested in just one girl because that girl is always "angry" (both blue-haired XD). I liked both, yet Myself; Yourself, a lot more.

Worosei Worosei says...

Both are about the male lead entering a 'new' place that he has some tie to and how he establishes himself in town.

Each character have their own internal problems, and each series become decidely darker towards the end, with a bizare emotional roller coaster where you want to laugh, strangle some characters, feel for others, puzzle over plot changes, but find both a decent watch.

The female leads also are similar; they have a cold demenour yet are apparently very cabable. It comes down to the male lead to help wean the female out of her shell.

Merryberry Merryberry says...

With the arrival of a new person into the village and the subsequent ripples they send out, affecting not only their friends but everyone else, is just one of the many, many similiarities that these series share. The rescuing of an individual from their somewhat bleak situation is another theme common to both. It would seem that thse two anime are so similiar that actually you might as well watch both at once since you'd enjoy them equally the same!

fizrox fizrox says...

We met here with copule of friends - each of them having dark past and difficult problems that they cannot solve ont heir own. Those two anime are both about changing one's lifes with friends' help and dealing with unwanted feelings or psychological issues.

xkub4 xkub4 says...

There is really stron conjunction between those two animes. You can find drama thread in Myself and Footprints. Main characters - male and female have been sorely reached by tragedy. There is also romance between male and female main characters in both.

I think that you'll like Myself if you enioyed h2o, and you'll also like h2o, if you liked myself.

Pendevous Pendevous says...

Between these two animes, the most obvious one that we can see is a guy struggling to get used to his new society. Moreover, both presents light comedy and a touch of angst, as well as heavy drama as the series progresses on.

The ending of both animes are also just perfect.

ciller ciller says...

The same kind of drama, the same kind of romance and the same kind of angry blue-haired girl. That is the connection between Myself; and H2O. Both of them are very slice of life even if H2O has miracles in it, it's still not very important to the story. When I watched the first episode of H2O it immediately reminded me of Myself; this is als because the drawing style is quite the same.

Well if think you should just watch it because the rest is not very explainable so just watch it. And you just can watch it because you always will love the other one if you loved one of them.

jypsel jypsel says...

Myself; Yourself and H20:Footprints in the Sand are both harem animes that move in nearly the same pacing.  They bring a psychological twist to the genre and leave the viewer shocked.  If you liked one, I highly suggest you check out the other.

Both have a melancholy feel and a few key plot twists. If you liked the progression of the story in one, you'll like the other.

Am3n Am3n says...

It is realy great anime. Both have similar story line. But i think Myself;yourself is better in story line.

Archmage Archmage says...

Both these (in my opinion) great animes share many (though small) touches that give them the same kind of atmosphere; on one hand you have in "Myself; Yourself" Nanaka who is quite cold to the main character Sana, on a similar note in "H2O ~footprints in the sand~" you have Hayami who also gives our main charatic a rejecting attitude.

This is also followed by the secondary characters in both, where they don't really interact (H2O, yes they do interact but not in a friendly manner, not in the way I’m referring to) and are very separate but the main character will not have this outrage and tries to bring everyone together.

Insanity ensues, good day Sir… or Madam.

Kai777 Kai777 says...

The plot is similar, it is scary. I liked the ending of both the animes. I liked Myself Youself better because of the voilin song.

TheRealGabe TheRealGabe says...

Myself;Yourself and School Days both have, lies, deceit, blood, and secrets. So much happens in these series that you are left wanting more. The overly happy mood in the early episodes of each series really does foreshadow the darker things to come. Will the anime end with your favorite lead character dead or alive?

vick01 vick01 says...

Both of the series story lines revolve around the characters having serious problems and secrets. Both of the series have a more mature theme to them and contains blood in the series. However, both of the series are done in a way where you get attached to the characters and get you get sucked into the story lines. both of theses series will leave you wanting more when the conclude, you will enjoy one if you liked the other.

Sheex Sheex says...

Myself; Yourself de-emphasizes the romantic focus present in School Days, but still manages to touch upon similar themes. Each presents an apparantly innocent, sugar-coated view of youth, but follows shortly with a dark, sinister breakdown of these ideas as nothing more than fantasy. With both packed full of bleak, ominous drama, if you watch and enjoy one be sure to check out the other.

caitlin caitlin says...

Both Myself; Yourself and School Days begin with a light hearted, pleasant feel, giving the impression that it is going to be a sweet, romantic view on the 'springtime of youth', but that image begins to deteriorate as both begin to focus more on the darker side of human interactions, and growing up. Both anime feature lies, secrets, and themes such as murder and suicide, making both a deceptive, dark watch, in the end. If you enjoyed one you will surely enjoy the other!

risuta risuta says...

Both School Days and Myself; Yourself, are anime about school life, relationships, tragedy and life in general. They both are a lot deeper then they seem, and go much further than the "everything blooms" stereotype that we often see in simillar anime. If you liked one of them, I defenitely suggest you watch the other one, too.

wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

I think that School Days and Myself; Yourself had similar animation styles with some of the characters being similar in personality, although School Days is a much darker anime than Myself; Yourself. They also share a sense of secretism throughout. It is very easy to get wrapped up in the main characters lives and the sense of reality in each series.

bobjoe bobjoe says...

Although the ways in which the characters deal with their situations is very different between these two anime, the themes are still very much the same. In each, the main character must deal with a love triangle situation, while much darker adult themes simmer in the background, eventually boiling over and being exposed.

Omurqi Omurqi says...

While the themes of Myself; Yourself and School Days aren't 1:1 copies of each other, both series take a shift from innocent to messed up at some point. School Days certainly has more shock value, and Myself; Yourself more touching drama, but both treat subjects that are often avoided by other shows. If you enjoyed the style of storytelling in one of these shows, give the other one a shot!

eaper eaper says...

Both of these series start off, more or less, as the average school love story, but do a decent job adding a sense of what would probably have to be called crazy into some of the main heroines. This sets them apart from most of the other series in this genre.

triplestrike triplestrike says...

School Days and Myself; Yourself have very different protagonists but the actions and deeper subject matter that gets revealed is prevelant in both.

Returning to a town you once knew and meeting your childhood friends is the predominant theme in both Kanon and Myself, Yourself. Viewers follow the daily lives of Yuichi and Sana respectively as they unlock their own memories of the past as well as those of others around them. Filled with mystery, suspense, tragedy, humour and realistic situations, both anime are highly recommended!

eaper eaper says...

Each of these series have some love stories going on, but do a good job adding something different from what the standard of this genre usually entails.

Omurqi Omurqi says...

Kanon (2006) and Myself; Yourself are both romance / drama anime that, instead of just focussing on the main couple, spends the majority of the time looking into the problems of side characters. If you liked how the different mini-stories got wrapped up in one of these shows, you will most likely enjoy them in the other as well.

ali3n ali3n says...

In both series, Kanon and Myself; Yourself, memories of the past guides main character back to the place from his childhood, where he once again meets his friends. Unfortunately, those memories aren't complete, and that's the problem he is trying to solve during the story. Step by step, with help from friends, he discovers new things about his and others past. If you enjoyed one of those series and if you really like mixed romance and drama plot, I would recommend you watching the other one too.

Both Myself; Yourself and Kanin share the same theme of someone who lived in a town who had to leave for some years comes back to the town once again. They also get reaquainted with other people.  They also have teenage characters. Both have food graphics and good episodes.

Both stories, follows a protagonist that is returning to a town from their past where friends wait for them. Both stories involve romance with one of the friends from the past.

jimstr jimstr says...

Both animes start off with the main protagnist returning to their childhood and meet old friends as well as meeting new people. The people the protagnist meets; all have underlying emotions and secrets that are below the surface and they all seem to root from the past. In addition the main characters constantly reflect on their past childhood in order to solve the problems in the present.

Both have good comedic relief and also have intense emotional moments that help drive the story forward.

Myself;yourfels is a drama. From the begining is goes very well but it totally F**k up the end. that guy go F**k all his friends(girl) but sadly he die cuz his wife killed him but his girlfriend angry about her best firend is take her boyfriend away from her but that guy wife die after him which is his grilfriend kill it. this story tell me; do not go F**K too many girl.

YuiYui YuiYui says...

To start both these involve a main character who moves away from his younger childhood friends but at the start returns to the drama. Then both anime lean towards getting through most of the main characters backstory's and the drama. They also leave the female protagnist until the last arc. The both are emotional and have quite a bit of detail in the characters backstory. There are drama and romance elements in both and if you liked one you should enjoy the other.

One day, however, he meets a lonely-looking girl in the school courtyard, Nagisa Furukawa. She explains to him the source of her loneliness: she had missed a lot of the previous school year and thus is repeating her third year; everybody that she knew has already graduated, and she is lonely. As his relationship with Nagisa grows, Tomoya begins to open up to various other people around the school as well...

Myself; Yourself and Clannad are both school romances. Myself; Yourself is more dramatic and darker than Clannad, although they both have similar types of character personalities. Clannad is more on the supernatural side of a student life whereas Myself; Yourself has a more realistic feeling to it with very in depth emotional problems having to be faced by the main characters. Even though Myself; Yourself seems like a lighthearted mini drama, there are heavy issues expressed.

fizrox fizrox says...

In both anime there is some secret, which everyone are partly aware of but no one would ever speak of. Through the series, we follow main characters changing and getting closer to the answers they long to dicover. Both Myself; Yourself and Clannad are about high schoolers' every-day life filled with really hard problems and emotional issues.

Omurqi Omurqi says...

If you liked how Myself; Yourself told its story through a group of friends, and the way they dealt with each characters problems, I'd really recommend you give Clannad a try. It contains actual comedy (instead of a failed attempt at such, yes Aoi-san, I'm looking at you), good character progression and better drama. To top it off, Clannad also has a great second season full of good drama in which the romance between the main characters is fleshed out a lot better than in Myself; Yourself.

Myself; Yourself and Clannad are both around the school life of a group of teenagers and involve the dramas of getting through everyday however I do admit that the backstories in Myself; Yourself are much darker than Clannad. They are both quite lighthearted and slow in some areas where drama has been thrown. If you liked Myself; Yourself then you should enjoy Clannad and vise versa.

ef: A Tale of Memories.

In a high school setting, there are many people whose stories must be told: Hiro, an aspiring manga artist whose view of the world is "missing a certain color," according to himself; his childhood friend Kei, who is vying for his attention; Kyosuke, a photographer and cameraman who seeks to capture true emotion in his work; the ever-cheerful Miyako, who meets Hiro by chance and immediately becomes attached to him; the gentle Renji, unsure of his aspirations to become a novelist; and Kei's mysterious and quiet sister Chihiro, who seems to be a different person every day. As time passes and they interact with one another more, their paths increasingly intertwine as shades of regrettable pasts emerge.

Both originally aired around the same time. They are darker romances with characters having a much grimmer backdrop/personality than other visual-novel cum anime characters. They explore multiple relationships and difficulties that arises whilst including the theme of memories. Both, however, ends on a postive note.

While the stories explore two differing concepts, the general relationship between these two series are similiar and makes it possible for you to enjoy both of them. The relationship seen between the characters are key to opening up the connection between them and both do this in a way that is both easy to view and enjoyable. Well worth watching.

In both situations two of the characters face a mental condition that hinders their love relationship.

Both Air and Myself; Yourself are romance / drama anime where for a long while the romance takes a backseat, and the story lays the focus in solving the problems of multiple side-characters. If you liked this multi-"route" approach in one, you'll enjoy seeing the same in the other.

Both True Tears and Myself; Yourself are romantic dramas (at their core) that prominently feature a childhood friend who is now cold to the male lead as a result of circumstances.  However, Myself; Yourself does not generate its drama with a love triangle, unlike True Tears.  Its drama is less relationship-driven and more plot-driven.  Also, Myself; Yourself has elements of a romantic comedy and sports a fair amount of fanservice towards the beginning of the show.
