If u liked Grappler Baki, then u will proborl like Air Master to. Both about fighting and personal growth. Air Master have a comic streak to it thats missing in baki and therefore is my personal favorite.

Arcardo Arcardo says...

There is a great similarity between both main characters of these series. Hanma Baki and Aikawa Maki have both set their goals to fight more and more strong fighters, no matter if these are friends, family or enemies. Both persons get great satisfaction from fighting, winning is not the main goal, though they definitely try their best to become the strongest fighter on earth.

Both series are about fighting redheads battling their way to the top. The fight scenes are intense and very unique. Each of the stories have quite the depth and structure and the characters are all rediculously interesting. These could quite possibly be at the top of your action/fighting anime list after you start watching.

Both series are about teenage red haired streetfighters. They even have similar names, Baki and Maki, however they are quite different. Baki is the son of the "world's strongest creature" and has a reputation to uphold as he trains to be the strongest fighter in the world. Maki was a female gymnast, the so-called "queen of japananese gymnastics". Now however, she is a remakably tall girl who uses her acrobatics expertise to "fly" as she fights.

Both series satisfy the shonen itch.

Martial arts, sport, friendship and getting stronger. Both anime are exciting to watch, especially their fights are amazing to watch. In both shows we follow the life of young boys trying to be the strongest. I think that both anime are a relly good watch for fans of martial arts and/or underground fighting. I’m sure that you will enjoy them as much as I did.

cjh cjh says...

Kenichi is very similar to Grappler Baki in that it revolves around a young man's quest to become a strong fighter.  They make an interesting contrast since in Kenichi the focus is on becoming a better fighter in order to become a better person and be able to help his friends while in Baki the focus is on becoming a better fighter as a goal in and of itself (if my father only respects strength then I will become stronger than anyone else).

chronoance chronoance says...

They're both similar because they both are fighting to become the strongest, although for different reasons, but the same path.

They're both brilliant fighting anime. Both very different - Kenichi is more family friendly and Baki is for a more mature viewer.

HnI and Grappler Baki are must-see anime. The main characters are on a nonstop chase to be the best, and know what it means to be strong. From start to finish both anime go back and forth from training and fighting to becoming closer to being the best.

captanmurdoc captanmurdoc says...

These 2 shows were made for each other. Both follow and young up and coming fighter on their journey to strength. Ippo is focused on boxing and features the classic weak to strong story with very solid comedy inbetween the hype fight/training moments. Baki has the same flow as a weak to strong story even though the main character doesn't exactly start off weak. The comedy timing isn't as good in Baki in my opinion but it does have it's moments where it shines still. Baki also follows an MMA style of fighting instead of strictly boxing. Would highly reccomend either series to anyone who enjoys martial arts shows or anyone who has seen and liked 1 but hasn't watched the other.

Violance, martial arts, underground fighting and kickass characters, you will find that and much more in both series. Both series are about the development of main characters from street punks up to serious underground fighters. You may say a lot of bad things about both series but you can’t say that they are boring.

Kakutou Bijin Wulong

Mao Lan is a typical seventeen-year-old girl with a not-so-typical life. She’s been trained since childhood by her perverted grandfather to be a master in their family’s secret martial arts style, and is tasked with training the old men that visit their dojo – not to mention trying her best to be seen with all of her clothes on!  In addition to dealing with the dojo’s newest recruit and a nosy sports reporter, Mao Lan must also train to enter the martial arts competition Prime Mat at her grandfather’s insistence. His old friend, it seems, has made a startling request that she’s unable to refuse: he wants Mao Lan to defeat his very own granddaughter in the ring!

So your probly wondering, hey why the hell are you comparing street brawls with ninjas. Well is cause im crazy and high on PCP bitch. Anyways one of the characteristics Naruto shares with Baki is the pace of the story. Naruto also goes from fight to fight with training inbetween with multiple characters trying to become the strongest in Uzemaki's case its Hokage. Baki and Uzemaki share alot of the same characteristics such as jumping into fights and never giving up even when they are seemingly dead. If you enjoyed Baki you will love Naruto for its great fight sequences and a superior storyline.

Both series have some really good fights. Yu Yu Hakusho has more of a joking manner and has energy balls and such, while Grappler Baki is more about the chemistry and biology of the body. Sorry, no energy balls here! In each anime they are on a journey to become the best and for some reason want to fight their dads. Hmmm....?
