Both Classroom Crisis and Mouretsu Pirates involve sci-fi, outer space, and high school students with unrealistic authority and professional ability (if you counsider piracy a profession). They're both comedic, too. This isn't a definite recommendation, but if you were drawn in by the premise and setting of one, I suspect you'll be interested in the other, too.

If you got past episode 1 of Classroom Crisis and liked the scrappy, gung-ho attitude of the A-TEC class, even when they're faced with stigma and negativity from their superiors, then you'll probably enjoy the far, far superior Planetes. In addition to being a genuinely interesting sci fi plot (unlike Classroom Crisis, which does a fairly hefty bait and switch after ep 1), it too follows a team of people who need to fight for budgets and their dignity, with similar humor at times.

If you liked Classroom Crisis, or if you're like me and thought it was the most boring series ever and want something way better, please check out Planetes!

But doing so isn’t easy as the club only has two members: Aki, who took over the project from her now-graduated sister; and Kai, a lazy gamer who’d rather be elsewhere. What’s worse, the school’s vice principal has decided their club is a waste of school funds and plans to shut them down! Now, the duo must convince her otherwise by winning a fighting robot tournament and gaining new, machine-savvy members, but when Kai accidentally stumbles upon an unbelievable conspiracy, the Robotics Club becomes the least of his concerns...

Both are about highschool engineers fighting against external powers trying to shut them down. Both have exceptional pilots tied to the root of the main problem.
