I didn't read the manga, but in the Anime he's a guy with issues trying his best. He brought light into Aki's life and worked hard to rise Rin. Overprotective? Rin gave him enough reasons to massacre the teacher (ofcourse it wasn't his fault). 24/7 at work and still able to see changes in Rin's behaviour, a relativ and not even a biological daughter - he is simply perfect

I hate this little scumbag.
Shadowfang, I think the dislikes are for the fact he's..you know, really, really f*cked up with the *spoiler* stuff he does to Rin.
But after catching up with the manga, for the first time in my life I can say "Reiji, I don't hate you."
