Without a doubt, Chibi Devi! is like the shoujo version of Beelzebub. Though Chibi Devi! is an anime aimed at young children and is about as far away from a battle manga as you can get, but both shows are about a teenager who suddenly have to take care of a demonic baby. If you like that aspect then both of these are for you.

chii chii says...

Both shows are about a person that is suddenly forced to take charge of a demon baby! Beelzebub is on the shounen side of things with action where Chibi Devi takes on the shoujo route by being pretty darn girly but if babies and the issues that surround taking care of one interests you check either of these titles out.

Justaway Justaway says...

Both are about a teen who suddenly have to take care of a demonic baby. While Beelzebub is shounen and has action, Chibi Devil is shoujo and is overall cute.

usagi05 usagi05 says...

Needless to say Beelzebub & Chibi Devi! shares the similiarity of youngster forced to raise a (devil)baby which has supernatural abilities. If you liked the cuteness and funniness of Beelzebub, Chibi Devi! will humor you more with its even cutesy! Let's witness how two kids' ordinary lives turns into not-so-ordinary lives by the (devil) babies.

Shanalogic Shanalogic says...

Demon babies = main theme~ Beelzebub n Chibi Devi r about demon kids and teens who have to take care of them. Chibi devi is shoujo, Beelzebub was first and is the shounen one. Btw, Chibi devi's main character isnt as cool as Beelzebubs :D Teehee. and Beelzebub is funnier and more interesting. i dropped chibi devi. Oh well, if ya watched chibi devi first you shud watch beelzebub :DDD Chibi devi is so girly and awkward to me

AppileyA AppileyA says...

They're both bout taking care of a baby devil/demon that essentially came out of nowhere. Although Chibi Devi! relies more on the cute aspect of childcare anime rather pln big plot points because the episodes are only a few minutes long.

Blood Lad

Blood Lad

Staz isn’t what you’d call a traditional vampire. He’s fascinated by human culture - especially anime, manga and video games - and unlike his brethren, he has no interest in sucking people dry. As a prominent street boss in the demon world, Staz has never desired to go to to the human world. But when a human girl accidentally wanders into his territory, is eaten by a carnivorous plant and comes back as a ghost, Staz makes a life-changing decision: he’ll help resurrect this lovely lady any way he can, even if it means heading to Earth! But the path won’t be easy, what with having no idea how to complete the task and his own laziness standing in the way.

Both shows have a comical tone that encompasses demons and quick gags while also having some fighting thrown in for good measure. Both also were cut short for one reason or another and kind of feel like there is a lot of story left to tell. However, it does not appear that will happen for either show anytime soon.

Jamerax Jamerax says...

They both have a protagonist that really couldnt care less about other people, because they are selfish and have personality faults. and yet they still manage to do good deeds and make long lasting friendships. they are also both extremly powerfull and can usaully win every fight they get into.

both are centered around demons and fighting and people with odd personalities.

MrValgard MrValgard says...

Comedy, school gangs, fights... a lot of fun. Blood Lad is much shorter but you can experiance general the same feeling in both series.

Anoton Anoton says...

They are both incredible animes. Both have to do with the underworld but the anime's light drawing brings comical humor that befits it wonderfully.

idontreadmanga idontreadmanga says...

they're kinda similar, both are comedy/action and are releated to the demon theme. also both main charcters have similar personalities (oga and staz) and are portrayed in the same way (as the strongest).

SleepySpaceCowboy SleepySpaceCowboy says...

both have a overall kinda gang theme to them , but blood lad is defenetly the more monster based one out of the both of them.

If you liked YYH or Beelzebub, you're certain to some interest in the other. Both main characters have similiar personalities and are both deliquents who love action. They also have to deal with demons throughout the show, whether they want to or not. Plus, they both have similiar humor added into the mix.

Magemat Magemat says...

Both anime involve a young boy who is getting dragged in the crazyness of the demon world while having to deal with the whims of a baby who is in both cases, the son of the demon lord. (Beelzebub is more oriented toward comedy while Yu Yu Hakusho is more dramatic and involves a lot of epic fights.)

JtkBasketball JtkBasketball says...

Both deal with high school delinquents who are the toughest in their class in regards to fighting. Both deal with the demon world and human world. They have a lot in common, but are both unique.

Both are incredibly funny shounen titles involving wicked babies who disturb the peaceful life of a teenage boy by dragging him into their crazy world.

tjayb330 tjayb330 says...

Both include the funny action kinda of genre which is caused by a baby of some sort who each has their own power or weapon only thing that is different is that Tsuna in Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn! is kinda a low key shy dude and a slacker in a normal high school while Oga in Beelzebub goes to this school full of delinquents and he is the strongest most "devil like" of the all

Cromartie High School

Cromartie High School

At Cromartie High, it’s tough being a delinquent -- a fact that do-gooder Takashi Kamiyama intimately understands. When he’s not engaging in contests of strength and rival gang wars, Kamiyama can also be found submitting punny jokes and planning his own rise to fame within the delinquents’ ranks, and that’s just the beginning! With friends like robotic Mechazawa, a giant gorilla, a hairy man from the 80s named Freddie and a clan of delinquents with mohawks that flow in the wind, how can anyone not enjoy high school?

They are both set in a high school full of delinquents..

but crom high is more comedy than action.

Yumeshiro Yumeshiro says...

Very similar in terms of setting and comedy. Both anime are located in a school with nothing but delinquents.

While Beelzebub does have an overall arc and storyline, Cromartie High School is mostly episodic. And while Cromartie is mostly pure comedy with different elements thrown in, Beelzebub has a healthy dose of Comedy, Action, and a bit of Romance as well.

PurplePeopleEater PurplePeopleEater says...

A school full of delinquents plus one guy who isn't. Cromartie High School is more episodic and doesn't actually have much fighting while there is more of a continuous story in Beelzebub and lots of fighting. I prefer the animation quality in Beelzebub but it is newer. Anyway, both are comedies about a school full of delinquents.

Gintama

Gintama

In Gintoki's Japan, the arrival of the various space races known collectively as the Amanto ended the era of the samurai. The Amanto's highly advanced technology resulted in total conquest and a severe economic shift. Now, former samurai such as Gintoki scrape together whatever livelihood they can. Gintoki's profession of choice is that of a yorozuya: he'll complete any job for money. However, he’s unmotivated; and spending most of the day on the couch with the latest issue of Jump and a carton of Strawberry Milk is his preferred pastime. It turns out that his new unpaid employees, Shinpachi and Kagura, are going to interfere with his pastime even more than with his "work"! Of course, none of this means he has really given up on his samurai ideologies!

If you like Gintama then you'll like Beelzebub. They relate to each other in that both anime's are gag anime's but can get serious at times. Both main characters give little or no regard to those around them but somehow always end up helping out when needed. The shows are also mostly humor based and sometimes are offensive but either way if you like one you'll probably like the other.

Both involve demons and supernatural power aswell with that hilarious sense of comedy.

Both aired in the same year so the animation quality is about the same ofcourse each has its own style.

Beezlebub has more comedy in it whilest Blue Exorcist has more focus on drama. Well in other words they both have the same amount of drama but in Blue exorcist its given to you in a serious way whilest in Beezlebub the drama is completely covered in hilarity.

chii chii says...

Demons, fast-paced action, and great casts is what these 2 titles have in common. Not to mention they are both delightful shounen series. Beelzebub is a little more lighthearted and comedy filled than Blue Exorcist but both have a very similar feel to them that sucks you in.

Demons. The meeting of two worlds. Comedy. Meandering non-plot. You take these ingredients, blend them together and either you get Beelzebub or you get Hataraku Maou-sama. Hataraku Maou-sama relies far less on performing strictly the same gags and uses instead situational comedy based on the peculiar traits of its characters. Other than that, fans of Beelzebub will definitely enjoy the similar ideas present here.

Both anime have both the demon world and the "normal" life in Japan aspect. The humor is pretty similar too.
