Unlike most comedies where their is not really a developed plot and the comedy begins to dwindle or become overplayed throughtout the series, nanbaka is something that the comedy never failed to dissapoint each episode, and the anime also balanced out the way it took itself seriously when it needed to, the characters plots are well played, and still keeps u glued to the screen. Of course its animation isnt purely just serious, i like how its a comedy with an also serious vibe at times, and it doesnt keep dull colors, the colors are wacky and the character designs are fun. Each character has a past of how they ended up there, and it's just very fun to watch.

The 'unecessary sparkles' dont really bother u much when u watch it, and laugh and then also drop ur jaw or scream at the screen or even laugh to the point u almost fall out of ur chair or begin to choke. little details become invisible or irrelevant with a series so nice. We have that slight touch of 'magic' in a way, but i wouldnt really call the magic they use, well, magic. its more of devices n stuff. And the farther u get in the anime, it takes a serious turn but not enough to the point where its no longer comedy or u cant recognize it.

I must say, i truly enjoyed this series. Each character design is unique, and there will be that one character who's past is also a focus of the overall plot. However, i like how they give each character equal screen time, and they dont just stick to the escaping plot the whole time. Each character is given the appropriate amount of screen time, each character is developed in a appropirate time frame, and i just cant get enough of this series and the characters.

I highly recommend this!

Oh my. I love it. I absolutely love it. From the first episode it was clear to me that this was an anime like no other. Slightly ridiculous and over the top in the best way possible. I always get a huge grin on my face watching. It's so full of color and life and fun!

Escape artist prisoners but it quickly becomes clear the bigger arc is friendship. There is an underlying subplot. However I love the pacing. You get plenty of "meaty" storylines so you don't lose interest waiting for the big reveal. It's hard for me to find a show that balances intrigue with me just skipping to the end. With this, I'm glued to the screen watching every detail. On the other side of the spectrum, I'm usually multitasking (the real reason I prefer dubbed) however this show has 100% of my attention.

The animation itself is beautiful. There's weird sparkling going on but everything else is perfect. Color blends and outrageous color schemes, the design and aesthetic is so unique but still anime.

The characters are grown ups (+1 point for not having 5 year olds deal with adult situations) and realistic enough that they can go from goofy playful to serious easily. They are charismatic and fun. Each with different motivations but united over their shared bondage.

I do feel it's more of a niche audience but I still highly recommend.

I've had this one on my back burner for a while and I finally watched the first season all the way.

Story, at the start this one didn't really have a story plot, and I was kinda disappointed and at the same time not. The episodes made me laugh and it bypassed the whole reason of not having a story. Finally, got a plot going and I wanted to watch even more and was excited to see where it went. Other than that it was a laugh fest every episode.

Animation style was pretty good. I liked the use of the colors and the designs for each characters. The only thing I could use without was the massive amounts of sparkles around every character.

Sound was good as well, has some catchy opening and ending themes. Over all here I was not disappointed.

Character in this anime were fun and exciting to look at and find out their characteristics. I didn't really have a problem with any character design or development of them. A majority of the main players and extras had good backgrounds, not to lengthy and not to short. Probably the first anime where I was happy about the outcome (more or less) of each character other than Hunter x Hunter.

Over all, I really liked this anime and look forward to watching the second season. I think this is one that I can strongly get behind. I recommend this one!

This is one of my top comedy shows ever. The humor is absolutely genius. I'd compare it to Saiki. The show is very pleasing to watch. It brings you joy through all the colors and great jokes. All the feminine men make it appear very welcomming and sweet. The storyline might be a bit weaker sometimes but for me the humor makes it up for it. But if you're really searching for an anime that has strong and interesting plot, this won't be for you. It's more of a comfort anime. The plot is here but it's not that strong. Still, it's my top 3 comedy show

For a comedic Shonen anime this explores some seriously dark themes. I loved how they where really able to make there characters come to life while still remaining a lighthearted air.
