Like cute girls as naval ships? Like cute girls saving the world from supernatural forces? Like exciting naval battles.  Then you will love this!

OtakuVoice OtakuVoice says...

Both have the same idea of the the enemies being ships that are prevent humans from being able to use the sea. On top of this idea it also has the ideas of the only way to fight is to use girls, but instead of using ships with the appearnce of girls this series has girls fighting pretty much as ships.

RiniRini21 RiniRini21 says...

Both Kan Colle and Arpeggio of Blue Steel deals with girls that are the spirits of naval vessels an alien races that have taken over the sea. Although in Arpeggio is more of a harem based show.

If you are interested in one you will probably also enjoy the other.

Battleship loli’s saving the day with their impressive – and downright crazy – powers of naval badassery is the order of the day for each of these series as we follow a group of kids waging war against a mysterious evil fleet that seemingly appears out of nowhere. Both series have a decent array of girls, they both have pretty fun naval combat scenes and they’re both heavy on the CG, often to varying degrees of success.

Chances are if you enjoyed one, then you’ll want to give the other shot.

I strongly agree on this recommendation because the story of KanColle(Kantai Collection) and Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio is almost similar. My reasons on the agreement are just like the others. I'd like to recommend Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio if you haven't watched it yet. It's a good Anime.

Strike Witches

Strike Witches

In the year 1939 an unknown enemy called the Neuroi appeared. Their purpose is unclear and origin is unknown, but they attack and destroy any signs of human civilization they come across. Because conventional weapons are useless against them, humanity developed a striker unit known as the Strike Witches to combat the Neuroi. Miyafuji Yoshika is a girl with exceptional healing power but lacks control; she has been scouted to join the Strike Witches and fight the Neuroi, but all she wants to do is take over her family clinic. After witnessing an attack by the Neuroi on her way to find out if her father is still alive, Miyafuji resolves herself to fight for and protect the people around her. Who or what are the Neuroi and what do they want?

Kantai Collection is another series where young girls are given a millitary burden to fight against a supernatural invader.  This time its as historic naval vessels as opposed to Strike Witches where they are more like historic fighter plans.

FuzzABall FuzzABall says...

Both series have an all girl cast, and they are in kind of a military scenery. Both are also light-hearted, friendship themed and are fighting against a foreign enemy.

Kan Colle is Ars Nova: Arpeggio of Blue Steel meets Strike Witches.  Aside of the "Naval battle Theme" of Ars Nova, Kan Colle most resembles Strike Witches as listed below .

Young girls being the actual Naval Ship - AirplaneImbued with the Spirit of Grat Naval Spirit - Witches who can contolr Propeller on their legs.Young Female Protagonist starts off green and most hone her skills.Their unit is the primary strike/retaliation force.Kon Colle sort of stays on the outer boundaries of Ecchi whereas Strike Witches is unapologetic Ecchi with plenty of Panty shots and stolen "patsu"

Both shows are hear toucnhing to some degree but not in the sense of Slice of Life or Josei Anime.

Both animes have stories where girls with special powers are assembled as a military force to fight in a war against the enemy of mankind that appeared out of nowhere in their world.

Sabure Sabure says...

Both series use young girls as fighing units in a World War II-era battleground. The girls of KanColle are based on actual historical warships during WWII, while the Strike Witiches characters are based on fighter planes of the same era. Both are heavy on fanservcie and military conflict so if you're a fan of both aspects then these shows will be perfect for you.

Brad Brad says...

If military themed loli action is what you have your heart set on, then look no further than these two series. Each of them follows a diverse cast of girls of all personalities and tropes as they split their time between acting like the usual cute schoolgirls, and blowing their enemies up with their weaponry of choice, be it battleship mecha suits or tanks.

It’s fairly safe to say that KanColle will be taking more of a slice of life approach than Girls und Panzer ever did, with the latter being extremely successful with creating somewhat realistic, and extremely intense battles filled with strategy and fun. KanColle appears to be taking a less serious approach to naval warfare, but it still shows promise of being able to entertain when the girls need to throw down.

So if you enjoyed either of these shows, or just have an interest in slice of life and military themed shows, then these two should really be the perfect place for you to get settled.

Well, this a good recommendation. I'll agree 2/3 on this. The goals of the characters in KanColle and Girls und Panzer may not be similar but they have quite similarities on the story. First of all, the characters in both Anime are studying at an all-girls school and both aiming a victory against the enemy. Some of the characters in both Anime start from scratch in order to do their best on fighting like practicing as a team or an individual.

If you like Action Anime or Military-based Anime, I'm gladly to recommend Girls und Panzer.

Great stories centered on a group in a militaristic setting, (AU future, mankind is falling) school-type setting. A new member turns out to be the ace.

I've found both to be fun and tugging at the heart-strings. Great stories
