Gokudo and Slayers go together like .. well.. two things that really go well together. The only difference is that instead of the lecherous Gokudo, you have a female Lina Inverse; sometimes a screw up, really powerful, and perhaps a bit insecure about her breast size. Basically, it's another comedy with a magical spin, set in a fantasy dungeons and dragons-like world.

Tasuki Tasuki says...

You could say Lina Inverse from The Slayers is Gokudos female half. Both are greedy, mischievous, and end up with adventures and friends they didnt ask for. If you find Gokudo funny and amusing and enjoyed the series, then The Slayers is your next series to watch and vice versa. I loved both of them and had good laughs. Both are definitely in my favorites list.

Svamp Svamp says...

At heart, Gokudo and Slayers are quirky comedy anime taking place in fantasy settings. They are driven by their respective strong and unique main characters, Lina and Gokudo. They're the kind of characters who make fun of others instead of being the butt of the jokes.

Both series do the adventure kind of thing with traveling to different locales as the episodes go by. Plots are wacky, characters are funny. Art styles are of the comedic and cute bent. Slayers is the more serious of the two and lies more to the direction of action and drama.

WolfAngelus WolfAngelus says...

Both share very similar qualities across the board.Graphics, Humor, Concept and Idea identical & Lina / Gokudo have similar personalities. Both are great classics that are under-appreciated.

Bastard!!

Bastard!!

The Four Lords of Havoc have one terrible goal – to awaken the god Anthrasax and recreate the world. To stop them, Yoko, a maiden of Metallicana, awakens the ancient wizard Dark Schneider from within a 14-year old boy by bestowing upon him her virgin kiss. The only problem now is that the most chaotic, lecherous wizard in history resides inside the body of an innocent child. Even worse, he’s determined that neither hydras nor minotaurs should stand between him and his dream to conquer everyone and take the women for himself… all of which is less than convenient when trying to save the world!

Devilbunny Devilbunny says...

Bastard is a more mature version of Gokudo. There's less comedy in this short series, which revolves around Dark Schneider - the ultra powerful, ultra-lecherous 'dark' magician, reborn through a little child. Though it turns serious at times, it's your standard swords and sorcery oav.

Svamp Svamp says...

If you liked the main character in either of these series, you're likely to like the other. They're both of the most anti-heroic sort among anti-heroes and there are not many others like them. Gokudo and Dark Schneider pretty much do whatever they feel like which can be a big relief from all the clichéed hero types.

I'm going to make this quick and short. 1. Gokudo and Inuyasha are both have little manners. 2. Both have a Chick wandering the world with them. 3. BIG SWORDS!!!!! 4. SHAPESHIFTERS!!!! 5. ETC! Lol

BlueKat12 BlueKat12 says...

Gokudo and Inuyasha are both VERY similar, both characters have swords, both have the same attitude(basically they both need want some kind of personal gain when doing a job), and when I first saw Gokudo(the character) I thought: Why the heck does he look like Inuyasha?

Desert Punk and Gokudo revolve around anti heroes who don't really care or even like the other characters they travel with. They are only in the adventure for their own greed, and it usually gets them into trouble. Both anime are pretty funny and worth watching.

kungphooie1 kungphooie1 says...

Though the settings are different, Desert Punk and Gokudo both have anti hero protagonists who only care about personal gain. They are both hilarious and have the same kind of feel to them. If you enjoyed one, you would definitely like the other.

Maze

Maze

An Earth girl named Maze suddenly finds herself and her house in a strange and magical forest, with no memory of how she got there (or much else for that matter). When she answers a knock at her door, she finds that she saved a princess named Mill when her house landed on Mill's pursuers. As they set out upon their journey, they are attacked by evil demi-humans and demi-armors - but all is not lost! It turns out that Maze has some kind of mystical powers, and Mill can summon a powerful demi-armor of her own. While Maze's powers are strong during the day, she has little control over them. Once night falls however, Maze transforms into a man; this version of Maze has even stronger powers and seems to have complete control over them. As they make more friends during their journey, it seems that everyone wants to get intimate with the female Maze, and the male Maze wants to get intimate with every female!

Both anime have many similarities. They take place in a fantasy world, the characters are pretty crazy, the male lead is perverted and a womanizer and they have a similar sense of humour.

Louie may not be as lecherous as gokudo, but what he lacks in perversion, he makes up in pure stupidity. This is a comedy about a mage-hero who has an easier time knocking people down with a fist than with his spells.

Gokudo and Nanbaka have similar styles of slapstick silly humo.  Both shows have lead characters being punished.  There is a hefty degree of gender based wit and grayness.
