M'hoi people

Average anime fan collect most series I enjoy and read and buy manga series if there not too long. The first series that got me into anime was Bleach but I watched Beyblade and Yu-Gi-Oh when I was younger. The first manga series I ever read was Claymore and is the first manga series I completely own.

My favourite type of anime series are historical fantasies, horror and comedy. I'm not keen on mecha, sports or romance but will make an exception if the story is good enough.

50th anime - Darker than Black

100th anime - Trinity Seven

150th anime - Laughing under the clouds

200th anime - Gantz

250th anime - The Fruit of Grisaia

My reviews are based on what I honestly think the values of the series are and is not down to my own personal taste. The star ratings I give are based on how much I enjoy a series meaning a series can be very bad and have poor quality but can still get five stars.

0.5*- Not worth considereation barely made it past an episode or two

1*- Not worth the time to watch it

1.5*-Very dull and uninspired

2*-Struggled to watch

2.5*-Barely managed to watch it

3*-Average had its moments but nothing spectacular

3.5*-Good moments enjoyable but will be easily forgotten

4*-Very good had potential to be great

4.5*-Easily rewatchable loved every moment

5*-Loved it will buy ASAP

It also tried to rematch it several times, but each time, since I knew what would happen, it didn't really keep my interest peaked. I do agree with you, there are a lot of anime out there similar to Death Note, so I wouldn't be surprised if people didn't rewatched it.

Thanks for the comment on my review. I know I made Death Note look bad, but I do agree with you. It starts out good for the first couple of episodes and then it does go way down hill. I liked it as i started to watch it, but I quickly grew tired of it. I guess it was not one of the first animes I watched, so that therein lies the problem. I watched it along time ago, so I don't really remember if it was one of the first I watched or not.

Hello, and thanks for adding reviews on Anime-Planet! It’s really appreciated.

\r\n

However, the site has recently launched some changes and now has a few new privacy levels for reviews, including ‘Private’ (to be able to take personal notes), and ‘People who visit my profile’ for short reviews, impressions, or even one liners that can be seen in your profile, or everywhere across the site for those who follow you. Here’s a full writeup of the privacy levels.

\r\n

Your reviews have  been changed to ‘People who visit my profile’ status - you’ll see a small eye icon (that only you or your followers will see) next to these review titles. The review section for these is actually too short.  If you eventually decide to turn these into longer reviews feel free to change the privacy level back to “Everyone” status.

Thanks again, and let me know if you have any questions!

Why is angel beats on this list? Because angel beats’ "characters" are just generic stereotypes masked by pretty colours doing menial things, before some forced tragedy comes along and manipulates the viewer to believing that this is mature and deep. Fate/stay is just a bunch of plot devices that act according to the script and not because of their own volition. The story is also incredibly forced and the only reason so many people like it is because it was made with a budget larger than the entirety of Africa's economy and because the source material too, was popular. I have made a list showing all of my favourite series but i will recount it for you again:

1) Ergo Proxy: for blending action, sci-fi and philosophy together seamlessly. Also has amazing characters that are not just defined by one mannerism that grow and matures as the story progresses.

2) Full metal Alchemist: for having an intricate story revolving around supernatural elements and political intrigue. It does not follow the tired formula and stereotypes most shounen suffer from. Also the characters in this show are all interesting and are all integral to the plot. I mention this as most shounen tend to forget some characters and leave them as background decoration. Ahem Bleach, one piece, Naruto Ahem.

3) Ghost in the shell: for being an incredible piece of art that poses some of the most interesting philosophical questions that i have ever had the privilege of bearing witness to. Also if the themes and concepts about the definition of what humanity is in this anime interest you, also read the manga: Eden! It’s an endless world. For posing similar themes.

4) Haibane Renmei: for taking then Angel beats concept and with the same amount of episodes, creating an infinitely more interesting universe. For also being an interesting character study that revolves around philosophy and depression. The characters are, unlike in angel beats more than just stereotypes and almost all get developed even the less important ones.

Read my list to see all my favourite anime and for a more in depth analysis on them.
