Magic of Stella

Dec 4, 2016

Stella no Mahou follows the adventures of Honda Tamaki who wants to change herself and lands in the shady SNS club where they make Home-made games. I found the story to be light and fluffy with just enough self doubt to make it interesting. The art is familier evoking a sense of fun similar to Non Non Biyori. The Characters are interesting as each reveals their personality and struggling with their own past coming to haunt them. Overall just fun.

Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn

Dec 2, 2016

If I had missed the naration in the first or second episode, I probably would of been more disappointed. It was a fun show, the art feels much older then the show is. I think it suits the idea fine, personally. And while there's a lot of wind up, the line that was stated about ... bah summary is "...dystopian future lots of problems like a world where they're searching for the one with hope, this is not that show." based on that I feel that it brings a lot of fun to an otherwise stagnating genre.

Long Riders!

Dec 2, 2016

An enjoyable tale of friendship and discovery. Ami Kurata is a lovable character and her friend Aoi Niigaki makes a perfect fit. I was disappointed with some of the artwork in places. It felt like perhaps they were rushed or maybe giving a new artist a chance and it didn't quite pan out. That said, the overall tone of the show and the feel for the delivery is pretty good. I'd like to add that the character designs are fun and cheerful.

Shelter

Oct 18, 2016

Perhaps because it's still fresh in my mind, I found this to be a beautiful and deeply emotional piece. While I would love for their to be an entire series somehow, it's honestly more perfect on it's own.

Love Live! Sunshine!!

Sep 25, 2016

Really enjoyed this season. I liked that it happened at a different school, so it wasn't a matter of finding out who was left behind but rather, why this group were so great. I enjoyed the sense of reflection of the first season, and the struggle Aquas shared while finding their own path and realization of their true goals.

A school life/ slice of life show about those born with ill luck. A delightful and wonderfully upbeat show that puts a nice spin on making the most out of life.

Terra Formars: Revenge

Apr 17, 2016

I'm leaving the overall 4. The story is great based on the first season (original show). My issue stems from the patronizing feel I recieve from the new director. Alright a real review. Based on the original Terraformars, Revenge picks up where it left off. However, unlike the "first season" Revenge feels and acts more like DBZ or Naruto rather than Hiroshi Hamasaki's work. The antagonist ....  Sorry, I've nothing really good to review about this show. I'm not happy with the new direction. While Takashi Miike has a pelethora of excellent works, Hiroshi Hamasaki's was a... See full review

An interesting story and enjoyable artwork make this tale a joy to watch. Though only the first episode was available, I look forward to watching and praying it avoids pitfalls.

Blade & Soul

Dec 2, 2015

I'm not usually a fan of games made anime. However, I actually enjoyed this one. By the end I felt I could somewhat connect with the main character, it wasn't all just fanservice and the plot had some depth. It didn't try to go overboard with it, and was enjoyable. I'm glad/ sad they didn't make a second season. Because they'd of messed it up if they had. So I think it ended on a decent note.

Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid

Dec 1, 2015

I wanted to like it. I really did. I'm aslut for a good story and this one seemed like it would foot the bill. It has a great premise, a great idea. However, there it falls flat. Getting to the story past all of the sex scenes is tiresome. If you want something to watch late at night to bust out your knuckle babies or to work up the waterworks here you go. If you're looking for a story that's based on a new idea, look elsewhere. Add in the harem factor, not jsut yuri but you've got the one lone male of the island, and it's the usual tropes that's driveled out to make money. I tried, I really tried to like... See full review
