Overlord IV

Sep 27, 2022

I Wanted More Season 4 returns with what I can only call a "taste" of that Overlord greatness that we got experienced in previous seasons. It felt short, and it didn't help that its interesting plot lines were left hanging. Overlord's main plot still remains Ainz's goal of locating other players, if they do indeed exist. I love how the series continues to concept of the New World being in despair as inhabitants come to grips with Ainz Ooal Gown existence. There is definitely less comedy that earlier seasons.  Also, Ainz Ooal Gown did most of the heavy lifting this season, which meant that he... See full review

Bubuki Buranki

Jul 20, 2020

Mad man is very Mad! Let's not waste time beating around the bush. Bubuki Buranki is your typical “by the numbers” mecha anime. It reeks of merchandising and doesn't even bother to top-up on some deodorant to disguise the smell. Once again its time to vomit out another generic story of kids chosen by robots, fighting adults and other chosen kids controlled by adults. The story starts off with what I can only say is the most annoying little girl in the world. This rambunctious package of migranes is accompanied by her "my nagging is a character trait" little older brother... See full review

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Jul 19, 2020

HYPE! The movie. For years I have thought, pondered, distilled, whatever you want to call it, the idea behind Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. What comes to mind is the word "Hype". Hype means "extravagant or intensive publicity or promotion,  often exaggerating its importance or benefits''. As anime viewers we know all too well how the hype machine works. We get worked up over an upcoming anime, we might check out a few chapters of the manga or read summaries of the light novel, then count down the days until the first episode shows. Then......we experience either joy or sorrow. Yet Gurren... See full review

Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki 4

Jun 18, 2020

WARNING!! If you have never watched Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki, Tenchi Muyo! GPX and familiar with The War on Geminar plot the YOUR GOING TO BE LOST! Thank you.

Lets open the Tenchi Muyo Wiki people and get ready to be searching character names because this four episode OVA is all about merging story lines. So the events of OVA 3 pretty much set the stage for the what took place in GPX and on Geminar. OVA 4 goal it seems is more about setting the stage for what is to come next, tying up some story loose ends and large helpings of fanservice. Infact the OVA is more of an exposition dump... Tokyo Ghoul

Jun 17, 2020

"Oshiete oshie teyo sono .....cough cough" Damn my throat. Lets start. GARBAGE! THIS ADAPTATION IS GARBAGE!!!!!!!! There I said it. Yeah had to get that out. Now do you want to watch an anime where the producers said "Lets take an awesome manga and turn it into pail vomit" then this is the anime for you. Here is Tokyo Ghoul. The "you better had not have read the manga first" anime. Tokyo Ghoul's plot may be the most "basic bitch" plot of shounen anime but that's ok.  The "heavy lifting" in thrillers is done by the writing and not so much the... Parasyte -the maxim-

Jun 17, 2020

Parasyte is an anime that I stood on the fence watching for a while now due some confusion with another anime and a different animation style. Parasyte is thriller anime with gore and adult themes. Yup the show has gore but never too much that it crosses that line into an MA rating (no Demon City Shinjuku flashbacks). The setup is basic like most trillers and often you will have visions of Ajin, if you watched one then you have seen it before. I'm on the fence whether this show is good or above good. The concept has been done before. The "young protagonist brooding over the complex life... See full review

One-Punch Man

Jun 17, 2020

Oooooooone Puuuuuunchuuuu! So I love keeping my reviews short and to the point so this might be hard. I do have a lot to say about this anime. I watch this twice before giving a review and I will say that it held up after a second watching almost year later. Now lets get this straight. One Punch Man style is very simular to a 4 Koma manga. in that there is an introduction ,a lead into the joke, the punchline and finally the reaction. Much of the episodes use this style. This means there isnt a story and thats ok. If you came into this anime looking for some epic story then prepare to leave with more... See full review

Blue Exorcist

Jun 17, 2020

I had so much hope for the Blue Exorcist (much of which was restored with Season 2) and much of it was lost half way into the series. Let me waste no time in saying that Blue Exorcist suffers from the classic anime problem of being made with not enough content available. We have seen this before with anime like "Full Metal Alchemist" and like FMA the story inevitably suffers. Decisions were made that can change a character's entire feel and... Luck & Logic

Apr 1, 2017

As someone in a comment section said "An anime with the title "Luck and Logic" would lead you to think that there is going to be an intriging plot but what you find is an anime deviod of logic and lucky to be on the air".

"Luck and Logic" is your typical by the numbers 12 episode anime which does little to break the formula presented to it. This anime is mediocre even by mediocre standards and what you will find is content so mundane that you will spend more time thinking of things you could be watching instead.

The first two episodes of this... See full review

Eureka Seven: New Order

Jan 22, 2017

Eureka Seven: New Order is more than a simple recap with an alternate ending. As a prelude to the then upcomming Eureka Seven AO the episode's goal was to give both new and old viewers a recap of the previous serious with one major change in mind. The ending. You see Eureka Seven's ending was very different from its source material and while the ending is way happier than going forward I think Bones thought it relevant to realign the anime as they prepared to release the new series. Whether this helped Eueka Seven AO I cant say but never the less I can definately see from a story... See full review

Maison Ikkoku

Aug 11, 2011

Maison Ikkoku is an old fashion anime. From its take on relationships to how the characters relate and respond to romance you would probably expect this anime to have been done in the 60s. Now mind you if you love old anime Maison Ikkoku is pretty ok but if your spreading your wings into older content then this shouldn't be your first stop. This anime is very slow and whimsical when it comes to plot progression. Story-wise the plot is simple, a repeating student (ronin) meets his new landlord, a beautiful young widow and falls in love. The plot then hinges on the fact that the widow doesn't wish to... See full review
