While the plot of each show is as different as night and day, both are action-packed shows with copious amount of blood and violence. They also share the same artstyle and comedic bits inbetween the fights, so if you liked one then you'll definitely enjoy the other.
The main reason I recommend these two is the artist behind them. You can't watch one and not see the other. And while their plots are different, the comedy/drama pairing is nearly identical. If you liked the action, the bloodshed, the general mayhem of one, go check out the other. You're sure to have a blast.
Amazing animation, super cool characters, and a spaghetti brains story... just like Hellsing Ultimate.
The art style is extremely similar which is in no way a negative. Folks killing folks for the sake of killing.
If you liked one of these anime, you'll like both.
It is June of the year CE 1923. A young girl with blond hair and blue eyes, Tanya Degurechaff, has entered the final curriculum of the Imperial Military Academy and is training at the third patrol line in the northern military district, the Norden Theater, as part of her service to the force. Her training, the first step toward a brilliant career as an...

Both cast in different worlds however no reincarnation in Driters.
Both are given a trial by God figures and all main characters are bloodthirsty maniacs
I watched Drifters right after Tanya... Maybe I should have done the opposite because Tanya is so good that it made Drifters look like shit. The tactics in Drifters are literally shit. The main characters are bloodthirsty for the sake of the cool factor, without being lovable or engaging. But Tanya's internal monologue is captivating and makes her an incredibly endearing character. Yes, Drifter's drawings are more beautiful, but too hard for the in-betweeners to draw, so the animation isn't fluid. They used lame tricks like shaky cam to give the illusion of motion and couldn't even animate the mouths right. Tanya's gorgeous in every way. Her annoying little voice is far less annoying than Drifter's made up language... and Drifters humor is more childish than that little girl!!! Yes, Drifters have more blood, but I just don't care about any characters or the goals, and it's often too dark to see... Drifters is so bad that it made me question if I still like hack and slash. Yes, I just want more than just that. Good animation. Good characters. Useful women that aren't constantly sexually assaulted.
I don't recommend Drifters for Tanya... only for fans of Hellsing that aren't scared to be utterly disappointed...
If you think Drifters is good, do yourself a favor and watch Tanya, and see animation, characters and story done right!!!
I had to watch Tanya a second time after seeing Drifters... I needed to rinse my eyes...
Instead of Drifters watch Code geass, Attack on Titan, Hellsing ultimate, Berserk from the 90s... Paint a wall and watch the paint dry... watch your toe nails grow... that would be a less repulsive use of your time.
Both feature protagonists ripped out of time and forced to adapt to an alien environment. Not only do they land on their feet, but you can connect with their struggles and appreciate their victories all the more.
Over a century ago, mankind was devoured by giant beings of unknown intelligence and origin known as Titans – creatures that eat humans alive indiscriminately and for no apparent reason. The remaining population has managed to survive the last hundred years only by building a multi-walled city capable of keeping the Titans at bay, training military...

Both anime have bold, colorful animation styles. Each have a large span of likeable characters that have their unique strengths and weaknesses. They both have fantastic fast-paced and intense fight scenes, while also having meaningful and appropriate dialogue.
I'm still freaking out about so many people saying that Drifters is the best animation...
How can you insult Attack on Titan...
Shame on you.
Not really sure why I think these are "similar", but I think they sort of give me the same feeling. I think they are very different in many ways, but I love both and think they have awesome animations in different ways. Both have interesting stories imo, and I think both have epic (and gory) fighting scenes. On the other hand, Drifters is a bit more mindless and funny, while AoT is more serious.
