A peasant named Hanbē asks a girl named O-haru for her hand in marriage, but O-haru confesses that she is already thinking of another man named Masakichi from a neighboring village. When Hanbē seeks out Masakichi, he finds that Masakichi possesses a sword and the skills to use it, despite being a peasant.

...Their fight is interrupted when they hear a girl drowning. In order to save her both of them die and get respawned inside a room with different people who also died for some reasons. They have to fight grosteque monsters of unknown origin in order to make it back alive to their world. This story is quite good for a gantz manga. Even if you don't have read the original gantz manga you are still gonna enjoy it. Some parts are left unexplained but they don't matter too much. Art is also good with well portrayed panels and it can also get gory sometimes. Characters are also good. Give this a try if you want an action packed giant monsters slaying manga.
