While the plot of each show is as different as night and day, both are action-packed shows with copious amount of blood and violence. They also share the same artstyle and comedic bits inbetween the fights, so if you liked one then you'll definitely enjoy the other.
The main reason I recommend these two is the artist behind them. You can't watch one and not see the other. And while their plots are different, the comedy/drama pairing is nearly identical. If you liked the action, the bloodshed, the general mayhem of one, go check out the other. You're sure to have a blast.
Amazing animation, super cool characters, and a spaghetti brains story... just like Hellsing Ultimate.
The art style is extremely similar which is in no way a negative. Folks killing folks for the sake of killing.
If you liked one of these anime, you'll like both.
Blood flying everywhere, constant fighting and similar dark art style make these a good pairing for fans of this genre. Oh and the girls have big tits, if thats your thing. (we all know it is)
I really loved Hellsing. Alucard and Integra has such a strong presence that I didn't notice how bad the story wass before the manga was completed. And then came Hellsing ultimate and I wept in awe at this this genius idea, it used quantum physic, which was even more epic than time travel.
I knew that Drifters couldn't be as good... but... I never expected it to be this bad.
The drawings are great, but too complex to be animated fluidly. Shaking the camera made me feel sick, I stalled several times.
The characters aren't badasses, just assholes arguing for nothing. The transvestite is an insult to anyone in the grey zone between genders, really intlerable and disgusting to look at. If you don't know how to apply make up without looking like a chap whore, don't use any. If you want to anyway, don't call yourself a princess. The only woman isn't strong like Integra, she's threated like a sex doll and her big tits are assaulted against her will constantly, trivializing abuse and dismissing women's free will... I like strong willed characters... there was none.
The made up language is irritating enough to drop the anime for that alone.
The tactics are shit, literally...
The plot is basically just a game of chess between gods, it's dull and not engaging, there's nothing at stake, I don't care about any characters.
Not enough violence, blood and gore... considering that it's the only thing that it has to offer...
This is so bad... how did Hellsing creators do something so lame... I'm no longer a fan.
I guess you have to try it if you liked Hellsing Ultimate... but the previous fame wasn't enough for me to give it a high score.

If you like one, then you will most likely like the other. Both are done by the same artist. Lots of action, blood and violence.
It has the same art style and the story is smilailer to hellsing but not really, has similer charachers and it's just as fun to watch as hellsing.
Both of them are pretty similar, Same creator as well. Animation wise as well their both similar. This probably me only thinking this but Toyohis and Alucard are basically the same in character design wise (Especially Easy looks pretty much the same as Girlycard).
It is June of the year CE 1923. A young girl with blond hair and blue eyes, Tanya Degurechaff, has entered the final curriculum of the Imperial Military Academy and is training at the third patrol line in the northern military district, the Norden Theater, as part of her service to the force. Her training, the first step toward a brilliant career as an aviation mage, should have gone off without a hitch... but things took an unexpected turn.
Both cast in different worlds however no reincarnation in Driters.
Both are given a trial by God figures and all main characters are bloodthirsty maniacs
I watched Drifters right after Tanya... Maybe I should have done the opposite because Tanya is so good that it made Drifters look like shit. The tactics in Drifters are literally shit. The main characters are bloodthirsty for the sake of the cool factor, without being lovable or engaging. But Tanya's internal monologue is captivating and makes her an incredibly endearing character. Yes, Drifter's drawings are more beautiful, but too hard for the in-betweeners to draw, so the animation isn't fluid. They used lame tricks like shaky cam to give the illusion of motion and couldn't even animate the mouths right. Tanya's gorgeous in every way. Her annoying little voice is far less annoying than Drifter's made up language... and Drifters humor is more childish than that little girl!!! Yes, Drifters have more blood, but I just don't care about any characters or the goals, and it's often too dark to see... Drifters is so bad that it made me question if I still like hack and slash. Yes, I just want more than just that. Good animation. Good characters. Useful women that aren't constantly sexually assaulted.
I don't recommend Drifters for Tanya... only for fans of Hellsing that aren't scared to be utterly disappointed...
If you think Drifters is good, do yourself a favor and watch Tanya, and see animation, characters and story done right!!!
I had to watch Tanya a second time after seeing Drifters... I needed to rinse my eyes...
Instead of Drifters watch Code geass, Attack on Titan, Hellsing ultimate, Berserk from the 90s... Paint a wall and watch the paint dry... watch your toe nails grow... that would be a less repulsive use of your time.
Both feature protagonists ripped out of time and forced to adapt to an alien environment. Not only do they land on their feet, but you can connect with their struggles and appreciate their victories all the more.
After watching both of these it' easy to see the similarities between both of these anime they both deal with reincarnation in a work ancient to modern times where magic is involved and they are both stratstrategic military just to name a few but I highly recommend you watch One if you'e watched the other
War never changes, according to these two anime. Both are filled with tactical one-upmanship and thrilling fights. Each main character has been thrust into a world that is not their own and forced to fend for themselves. Both main characters also enjoy the slaughter of battle, one more out of necessity, the other out of instinct. It goes without saying that these anime are both dark and you will see death a lot. But it will look very cool showing you that death.
This is not my world, why do I have to fight its war?
The main character in both animes may as well ask themself this over and over again though it wont do them much good, they are still going to fight. Try as they may to avoid the battlefield, they’ll keep getting sent there.
Over a century ago, mankind was devoured by giant beings of unknown intelligence and origin known as Titans – creatures that eat humans alive indiscriminately and for no apparent reason. The remaining population has managed to survive the last hundred years only by building a multi-walled city capable of keeping the Titans at bay, training military recruits to patrol the perimeter and gather intelligence about their mysterious foe. Eren and Mikasa have lived a relatively peaceful life behind the city's walls, but when a massive Titan appears, smashing the outer barrier and unleashing a wave of terror, their lives are brutally changed forever...

Both anime have bold, colorful animation styles. Each have a large span of likeable characters that have their unique strengths and weaknesses. They both have fantastic fast-paced and intense fight scenes, while also having meaningful and appropriate dialogue.
I'm still freaking out about so many people saying that Drifters is the best animation...
How can you insult Attack on Titan...
Shame on you.
Not really sure why I think these are "similar", but I think they sort of give me the same feeling. I think they are very different in many ways, but I love both and think they have awesome animations in different ways. Both have interesting stories imo, and I think both have epic (and gory) fighting scenes. On the other hand, Drifters is a bit more mindless and funny, while AoT is more serious.
Ten years before Shirou Emiya's and Saber's fateful meeting, Japan is the stage for the fourth Holy Grail War. Seven Masters, each with his own dreams, step forward to win the boon of the mystic relic. Into this fray comes Kiritsugu Emiya, the enigmatic "Mage Killer" who wants to use the Grail to make a better world. Can he, paired with the indomitable Saber win the War? Or will he fall to the ambitions of the other mages?
Both series feature a war to which notable historical figures are drawn by participating parties to battle against each other. If you enjoyed that aspect of the other series, the other won’t disappoint. Otherwise, these series are quite different from each other.
If you enjoyed Drifters, You can enjoy the fate series, or the other way around. If you enjoyed the Fate series then you can enjoy Drifters.
The Black Faction seized the Greater Grail for the sake of the clan's most earnest wish to symbolize its independence from the Mage's Association. The Mage's Association gathers the Red Faction in order to thwart such ambitions. Taking place in Trifas, Romania, the Great Holy Grail War that takes place between 14 Heroic Spirits summoned by the two factions transforms thanks to Shirou Kotomine, one of the Masters of the Red, who is also the Overseer for this Great War.

These shows like to falsely depict historical and fictional figures even going so far as to alter their appearances or genders or at least offer gender confusion. Neither show is afraid to morally twist, obscure, or totally flip behaviors and motivations of these figures to suit the show creator's needs. Both stories take place in alternate universes. They are about battles between two or more factions for domination of the world or some great power.

In the city of Ergastulum, a shady ville filled with made men and petty thieves, whores on the make and cops on the take, there are some deeds too dirty for even its jaded inhabitants to touch. Enter the "Handymen," Nic and Worick, who take care of the jobs no one else will handle. Until the day when a cop they know on the force requests their help in taking down a new gang muscling in on the territory of a top Mafia family. It seems like business (and mayhem) as usual, but the Handymen are about to find that this job is a lot more than they bargained for.
If I say this straight the killing or should I say the fighting reminded me of Gangsta. Both the protagonist has fucked up personally (which is fantastic) and the most important part is the sword fighting techniques makes you get goosebumps.
From the very beginning of the anime episodes, it reminded me of Gangsta (probably beacuse of art style and violent story line.) Later on, fighting scenes and characters natures made even more similarities between both animes.
Hellsing, an organization devoted to the elimination of the vampire threat, has recently uncovered information regarding the attempted production of "man-made undead." The world is presently in the thick of WWII, and the current leader of Hellsing fears the Nazis could potentially use these creatures as front-line super-soldiers. Although the technology of creating artificial vampires is still in its infancy, it has advanced enough to be a serious threat. In an attempt to put a stop to this perverse and dangerous experimentation, Hellsing has sent two of its most skilled agents to Poland. A young man by the name of Walter C. Dornes - a.k.a. "The Angel of Death," and Alucard, an ancient vampire currently in forced service to the Hellsing Organization. Together, they attempt to stop the progress of the Nazi's efforts.

The main reason to recommend drifters with this anime is they are made by the same people. Literly saw a preview for drifters at the end of the dawn.
Kageyama Shigeo, a.k.a. "Mob," is a boy who has trouble expressing himself, but who happens to be a powerful esper. Mob is determined to live a normal life and keeps his ESP suppressed, but when his emotions surge to a level of 100%, something terrible happens to him! As he's surrounded by false espers, evil spirits, and mysterious organizations, what will Mob think? What choices will he make?
Mob Psycho 100 has absolutely nothing in common with Drifters... no wait, it's also about epic battles!
I've seen people say that Drifters is the best animation that they have ever seen... No, it's Mob psycho 100 and you need to watch it to learn what good animation truly looks like. Drifters have better drawings, but people claiming that it's the best animation ever need to watch better animes...
There is a huge difference between drawings and actual animation.
Drifters made the drawings too detailed for the inbetweeners to be able to draw the extra frames and make the actual animation look fluid. They couldn't even animate the mouths right when talking!
Mob Psycho 100 is a web comic done by ONE. But unlike One punch man, it wasn't redrawn by a prophesionnal manga artist... So at first glane it looks like the shittiest drawings ever made... Which means that it's extremely easy to draw... and animate in the most exciting poses and motion.
Watch Mob and see what good animation truly looks like. I am now I convert and I'll never be able to enjoy an anime just for the drawings, some rare bloody violence, or the cool factor...
An anime needs lovable characters, Drifters aren't memorable the way Alucard and Integra was...
Even the violence wasn't good... I've seen some real crazy stuff.
Mob Psycho 100's animation gave me shivers, gasped in awe, and a mental orgasm, like meeting god and floating in the universe.
I kept looking at how many episodes was left when watching Drifters, dropped it twice... It was an attack on my senses with lack of fluidity, shaky cam, shitty tactics and made up language, characters that aren't epic badasses but just assholes, sexism...
Kid, go watch a real anime. It's ANIMATION shortened... so good drawings aren't enough.
In secret, alien parasites drift downwards toward Earth. Their directive: to take control of a human body and thrive in secret. When a parasite attempts to take over Shinji, an ordinary high school student, he stops it in his arm to save his mind. With the strange power of amorphous muscle, the curious parasite strikes an uneasy truce with Shinji: it will keep him alive and strong so that it may continue living, and will help protect him from the other parasites that might not take kindly to Shinji's mind still actively working. For the love of gore, go watch a good anime. Drifters' animation isn't fluid, the characters aren't interesting, their goal isn't engaging.
If you want to see really good gore and animation, Parasyte blew my mind. Drifters bored it, even the blood wasn't worth enduring that shit.

Berserk remake/sequel is as shitty as Drifters. So if you want to see how good animation and great hack and slash is supposed to loo like, watch the version from the 90s. Anyone saying that Drifters is the best thing ever must have been born yesterday.
