I was actually pretty fast hooked up on this series. As I had no idea what to expect and someone recommanded me it, so I decided why not

I liked how the character did evolve through out the series, even for an 13 episode.

Some may be a little rushed but a tthe same time, it fits its exact pieces together , without taking many episodes about the same drama.

Episode 13 was the only episdoe for me, that I really think they should have extended a bit,

I won't compare any other animes, as all animes has its own potential, i would recommend it to others, and say what ya think over 13 epidoes long.

The characters were amzing

the story line was great, sometimes a little bit confusing but easy to follow

the music, well I can say I love the opening theme

and second season? I am unknown, i do have ideas but who knows what will come,

so in short, I really loved this anime,

This anime had a potential, but what a mess it was instead. There where two points in the story, where I thought this could be good premise for a story. The first point was at the beginning. It was really good to watch an average guy with superpowers and use them solely for selfish reasons, like Yagami in the Death Note. Except Yagami had much greater ambitions than mere fame, money and women. The second point was in the very last episode. This could be really good if that part was a standalone anime. Instead the story goes for school club with superpowers. Then towards the end surprise everything is turned upside down. Moreover those previously mentioned two good ideas are rushed all way through. Those come out more like side stories squeezed in to fit into span of 12 episodes. Overall the story comes out boring and changing aims all the time before the viewer even cares.

Main character is somewhat ok. He does not care about others at the beginning except his little sister, but not in a romantic way. He has her as the last blood relative and that is the reason why he cares. Tomori is strange. I liked some aspects of her as she does not fall into usual categories of characters, but her reactions seem strange at moments. After watching it for the first time, I considered her as overly cold and emotionless. However upon skiming through all episodes for review again, I've found that it is not objectively speaking the case. It is rather failure of the anime that her character is not believable. Especially the romance with main protagonist seem as superimposed rather than developed. Her being bullied in the school is just lame appeal for a pity in order for viewers to care. It fails as she does not seem to care at all. So why the viewers should care? Then you have two-in-one cute girl idol and her second personality of her yankee sister. Lastly the guy with super-speed who is there mainly for sake of comic relief. I won't speak much about other key characters who are introduced out of thin air later on in the anime.

The animation is good and art is ok. Soundtrack is ok an OP/ED is forgettable.

This anime is only slightly above average light-novel adaptation with little value and quite forgettable.

Charlotte

You can already see it, the similarities to "Angel Beats" are hard to miss. The author apparently has a certain tendency towards this drama.

But not only that, he seems to like to repeat his mistakes. And here he absolutely didn’t skimp on it.

The anime begins with a very promising episode that made me curious. The setting and drawing style could hardly have been more monotonous, but it was made up for, thanks to the decent animations.

The problem with the work is as follows. Hardly anyone tried to make anything out of it. The actual plot is rather weak with a few mediocre twists and turns and a somewhat satisfying ending. The process and implementation are undoubtedly bad. You spend almost 8 episodes with various irrelevant and uninteresting everyday episodes that hardly help with the characters. Then the main events begin, one forced twist after the other, and whoosh, we have a finale, some drama, and an ending. The basic idea behind it wasn't bad, you could have made MUCH more of it.

Then, as mentioned, all of the unimportant everyday episodes were extremely sluggish. Normally you should get to know the characters more or at least build sympathy for them, but no. There was a single character Arc that at least tried to develop something.

The characters have been lifeless, monotonous, and meaningless as they could possibly be. It was impossible for me to feel anything for her. That was also the case with Angle Beats, but there he was able to scratch the curve with the last episode. The protagonist had a very interesting concept in the beginning, which turned out to be almost nothing. Even if I later found his fluctuations in character quite interesting, which you don't see often. The protagonist was probably the definition of a sidekick. Although she looked quite individual and had a more masculine personality, I thought something could be made of her. NO, it was empty until the end.

Musically it was average but could support some scenes.

In the end, the anime turned out to be quite disappointing. You had potential and so much leeway and yet nothing was made of it. The name of the anime is probably the only thing I will remember after many years, based on its individual sound. Otherwise, the implementation failed to my disappointment.

Story

The Story was pretty good. I especially liked how the end was.(No, I won't spoil.)

It started fairly simple with what most people would do with that ability. It's only 5 seconds, what could you do with it?

Animationg

The Animation was pretty average. I liked how the characters moved. Pretty simple but very effective animation.

Sound

Bruh, No joke here. The End theme made me very sad. I felt like the End theme had the whole Story inside. Starts pretty normal and soft and widens out at the end.

Characters

I liked the characters pretty well. I was starting to wonder if it was a harem at the start, but it wasn't exactly like that. I liked how it ended with Yu.

Overall

I appreciated how the anime made me think of how it is to be alone. How it is to have someone to be with you when you need it. How humans weren't supposed to be alone. I really felt it on those parts. Only thing that picked on me was kind of the end. The only reason for that is because I don't like Open endings. But this open ending, ended pretty and fairly simple. This is the kind of anime I can't forget.

Charlotte is without a doubt the most hyped show of the season 2015 and I can see a lot of reasons why. I am myself a huge fan of Angel Beats and Clannad, and I was excited to see what is next from the same people who made those anime. Sadly however, Charlotte has become one of the biggest disappointment of the season.

The story follows a guy name Yuu who discovers he has superpower. Burning with rebellious hormones, he decides to abuse it for his own purpose. The fact our main protagonist is an evil person is a pretty interesting thing to start with, but halfway through episode 1, his ploy is busted and he goes back to being a punching bag. The next episode puts him in the show of the generic main character, and even though episode 7 reverts him back to his evil-self, I feel like all his developments are poorly executed. They are rushed and sometimes rather pointless.

Other characters are no better. Nao is probably the only person entertaining to watch. The guy with glass and the girl with split-personality are just boring every time they are on screen and I don't see any point of having them there other than to fill in the time. Angel Beats have a lot of side characters that do not have any development as well, but for the very least, those characters add a lot of good comedies and emotions to the anime. Supporting characters in Charlotte have neither the charm nor the personality to carry this.

The pacing is terrible. Almost the first half of the series can be skipped without any issue. Things kick up in episode 6 and for a while, I thought we were going for a ride, until episode 11 where the rushing and poor writing absolutely killed any potential this anime might have.

Animation is the only category where I can praise this anime. The designs are great and the lightning/shading effects are almost perfect. There are a few scenes where it looks like they ran out of budget, but overall the anime still looks pretty amazing.

I can't recommend this anime to anyone but the most die-hard fans of Angel Beats. Charlotte is not good, but not shit either. It is just average.
