Valkyria Chronicles

Jul 20, 2011

Valkyrie Chronicles is an anime with a lot of different aspects to it, but it’s mainly a story of defying the odds and making miracles happen with good judgment and well thought out strategies. There are many relationships that develop, both on the protagonist’s side, and the antagonist’s side. I applaud the creators for allowing the viewer to see the emotions of the antagonist and their frame of mind, as opposed to making them completely evil bad guys as some series do. Doing that allows the viewer to see that everyone who is involved really has their own reasons for being where they are... See full review

Now and Then, Here and There

Oct 14, 2009

Story:The story in Now and Then, Here and There is remarkable. It brings together a tragic darkness, that comes with war, and depicts all the emotional, psycological, and physical afflictions that are associated war. It is only 13 episodes, so it doesn't have any unnecessary scenes that don't do anything for the show itself. Every scene was needed in some way to bring together the character development, the plot, etc., and it was fascinating to watch. With every episode you saw something that really moved you, in some way shape or form, whether it was sad and painful to watch, or beautiful and... See full review

The Story of Saiunkoku 2nd Series

Oct 6, 2009

StoryThe plot through season 2 of Saiunkoku Monotagari progressed at the same general pace as the first season, slowly, but deep and full of subtleties unnoticeable at first glance. These subtleties definitely increase this anime’s re-watch value. Furthermore, if you can be patient through some of the lower-tempo parts of the series, you are rewarded with a few intricately placed plot twists created by cunning characters and complimented by a thoroughly thought provoking dialogue. The story is filled with political ideals and connotations which invigorate the intellectual side of any human... See full review
