Do you still like yuki more than rin?(Blue exorcist) I'm watching the new season and I still can't like rin and prefer yuki. I feel yuki was really unfavorably treated. While he was pushed with responsibilities and had to mature and train from young age, Rin was allowed to be childish and get pampered by his dad. Still Rin was the favourite one even though he was always working and working. I feel it's because yuki was taking on the hard parts rin could stay as dumb and idiot. I feel it's not only Yuki's fault for what he has become and he is overly hated. And I kind of dislike Rin because he refuses to gain even a shred of maturity and understanding. I'm an anime watcher and forgot most of the plot so I might be wrong.

I've been well -ish lol just got over a bad cold, and been busy myself. IRL is indeed having a toll on people. My GF has been too busy to spend time with me so kinda sad about that , but I know it's only temporary. How about you? How are you doing?

Yea, it's all about the Benjamins isn't it?

Oh dear, there is some sexual content in the book. But there's actually a plot too. Although milady, I must admit I had already inferred that smut wasn't your thing just by speaking with you, reading your bio and paying attention to what characters you like and dislike. I was going to mention that I'd personally like to see more consensual mature content in anime series. For various reasons, both personal and practical. I know we won't agree on that but I hope it doesn't negatively affect the rapport we've started building, because I very much enjoy chatting with you Miss Rook.

I think this is everyone with their favorite characters. Case in point Thor is one of my favorite Marvel heros so seeing the MCU absolutely butcher him from an almighty Norse warrior to a bumbling jock, beach boy ,jokester (especially what they did to him in Endgame) infuriates me. Comics Thor is literally among the most powerful heroes. Yet just like many major Marvel heroes he's nerfed so other characters can shine. The bad writing of him infuriates me, but the bad writing of other characters like America Chavez, a character I could care less about I'm just like "meh that character isn't that relevant anyway" .

Really? Is that so? Interesting. I knew Izuku was getting superpowers right the get go. Especially when the voice-over in the pilot episode literally is him stating how he becomes the 'greatest hero on Earth". But as far as earning Bakugo's respect? .... Lol I knew we'd eventually get this character. Our opinions of Bakugo couldn't be more contrasting lol. So it goes without saying that earning Bakugo's respect isn't something Izuku should prioritize. In fact quoting you, my biggest complaint is Izuku's continued idolizing and blind devotion to Bakugou despite how antagonistic their relationship is. I wish that Izuku would have been allowed to treat Bakugo like an enemy. But then that would be out of character for him now wouldn't it? I agree about loving when heroes actually have stakes, it what makes the story interesting, don't you agree? Lol your comment about Batman breaking his back reminds of that segment on the adult comedy show Robot Chicken where Bane continuously and casually just walks up to Batman, breaks his back and then a cartoon closing header says "Do do do do do that's Bane!" with old times cartoon music. It's hilarious 😂. Have you ever seen it?

Say we're both obviously avid readers, tell me MissRook what we're some of your favorite novels in your childhood? Did you have any favorite series? I myself enjoyed the Goosebumps and Buford High series, I was actually addicted to Goosebumps, I'd check out the books and finish them so wuckimy classmates (and teacher) would be astonished. And I loved the Harry Potter books also. Were you a fan of any of these series? And btw have you managed to check out the "Blackbird" comics yet? I'm interested to hear your thoughts on it.

Well unfortunately due to current circumstances my family and I can't put up a tree. Though I always think it's weird that the media just skips over Thanksgiving and goes right to Christmas. Lol it's middle of November and stores are already putting up Christmas decorations, and playing Christmas music. Like damn at least wait until Black Friday!! 🤣

Well currently my favorite new novel isn't superhero or anime themed it's "urban themed" it's called "The Double Cross" by Anna J. It's about a man juggling a love triangle between two twin sisters!! Extremely interesting it was. My Father borrowed it and he was outdone himself! You're literally sucked into the story on the first paragraph! It's an interesting read, you should look it up too. But wait, you say in your bio that romance isn't your thing. So perhaps not, but the romance is overshadowed by the drama and suspense of wait for the love triangle to implode so perhaps I'm wrong, maybe you will enjoy it. There was also a really good Western themed novel I finished called "Shadow of a Dead Man" written by William W Johnstone & J.A. Johnstone. I've always loved westerns, I grew up watching them with my Grandfather as it's his favorite genre, y,' know come to think of it a western theme Manga/anime series might be a good idea! I wonder if one exists.

Now regarding Batman, once again you're absolutely right. Hell, my best friend (who is a huge Spider-Man fan) has sort of a love-hate dynamic with Batman's characterization. He once said: "Batman is the only superhero that doesn't have superpowers, yet STILL manages to be OP". NGL he makes a very valid point. As so do you, in the wrong hands he is OP.

One such instance was in the cartoon Batman: The Brave and The Bold, where Batman gets buried alive and has to ask for help via possessing the living with Astral Protection. And he explains it by saying it's an "Ancient Mediation Technique" I was like... Really -_-? Batman is The Deadman now? C'mon writers. In another story he escaped the same situation by making brass knuckles and punching out of the coffin. THAT'S more in character for Batman, now suddenly having Astral Protection which is technically a superpower, meaning it invalidates his lore of not having powers.

Nevertheless, as a fellow Batman fan surely you can agree that's he's always fun to see in action. He literally stands side by side with his friends and teammates who are basically god's and is considered just as formidable as them. Hell, sometimes even more so. And they often turn to HIM when they need support for certain situations. Batman is just a human, yet he's one of the few heroes other than Superman that Darkseid recognizes as a worthy opponent. That in itself speaks much about his imposing status despite being "powerless". As his archenemy Joker stated "There's nothing MERE about THAT moral!" Regardless of how he's written, a highly skilled detective?martial artist fighting alongside his superpowered friends and actually being a heavy hitter will never be boring.

Veering off topic for a second I would have liked to see a Quirkless Pro-Hero in My Hero Academia, I believe the closest to this was Knuckleduster. I would have loved to see Izuku get inspired by a top hero that everyone thinks has a superpowerful Quirk but is actually just a highly skilled fighter. That's how I would have written it, a Quirkless Pro-Hero inspiring Izuku to never give up because you don't need a power to be a hero, as Batman's character proves.

There's another powerless hero I enjoy reading and seeing "Punisher" you like him? I think he's the most "realistic" hero in all of comics. He's not a metahuman, just an immensely skilled combat veteran in excellent physical condition. Men like that do exist in the real world lol, if course they wouldn't survive as long as Punishner has. I dunno there's just always something interesting about non-powered superheroes.

Speak of which, Batman has the most interesting rogue gallery! You've already mentioned another shared favorite of ours "Deadshot " he's very well-written and just like Harley he's slowly moving into a more anti-hero/anti-villain role. Deathstroke would have to be my second favorite DC villain after Black Adam both of them also anti-villains/anti-heroes depending on how they're written. I also like Two-Face and Killer Croc, the latter of which I believe is the most tragicv illain in DC.
