Little Polar Bear: Where Are You Going, Shirokuma-kun?

Jan 6, 2023

It's a simple heart-touching story. The anime definitely should have an iyashikei tag. Little Lars gets separated from his father while he was asleep. Poor thing has to go through a lot before he reaches an island in Africa. There he meets a kind Hippo who takes him to his friend, Drago, an eagle. The journey to Drago was not an easy one. But Lars gets to enjoy so many new things, so many new animals, and foods. And deep in my heart, I felt a little sad for him, because Lars won't be able to do any of it when he gets home. Because though it's his home, the North Pole has nothing but white and... See full review

Poyopoyo

Aug 19, 2022

An anime with a cute round cat named Poyo If not more, Poyo is as cute as his name, and the family that adopts him is kinder and more harmonious than any anime family I have seen. Nothing will cheer you more than a good chibi-comedy anime like Poyopoyo. The final episode really melted my heart. And my God, Ootani Ikue, what an amazing voice actress you are! God bless you.

Koikimo

Aug 5, 2022

I am extremely sorry to say I didn't like it at all. I kind of hated it. And here are some reasons why:

1. Could the characters be any more one-dimensional? (Read it in Chandler Bing's voice, please.) This is one of the major elements that makes an anime extremely boring. I have never seen an FL more confused and lame than Ichiko. Not even Hanazawa Kana's angelic voice could hold my attention towards the anime. The last time I saw an anime this boring was Snow White with Red Hair Season 2.

2. Why in the world are the adults acting like teenagers?

3. The 10-year age gap isn't a big deal... See full review

A Letter to Momo

Aug 8, 2021

A Letter to Momo is one of the most popular stand-alone anime movies and yet it was a total letdown for me. The anime was very lengthy. The story was filled with unnecessary details. The three demons were extremely ugly. Sorry for ugly-shaming, demon fellas, but it is what it is. That is not even the point. The point is that they were extremely annoying. The animation was average. I have seen way better way many times. The pace was so slow the 2-hour duration was very hard to pass, at least the first 1.5 hours. I definitely got some 'Spirited Away' vibes from the film. But in quality, it wasn't even... See full review

Monogatari Series: Second Season

Jul 11, 2021

Yeah, I don't have an "It literally means..." line for this one.   But man oh man. Was it a blast! Monogatari Series: Second Season exceeded all my expectations. I will try to make this review as much spoiler-free as possible. I will also give a sort of episode guide. So bear with me, please. Monogatari Series: Second Season is based on 5 NisioIsin novels. This means within 23 episodes, there are five different arcs. I said 23 because there are 3 recap episodes in the total of 26 episodes. So the anime actually has 23 legit episodes. Let's discuss the story by arcs. 1. Tsubasa Tiger... See full review

Adults Dunno How to Love!

Nov 27, 2020

Well, it's practically a soft-core hentai and I never thought I would write a review of an anime of this sort. But this anime really added something new to the genre. A meaning I suppose. Two characters scarred by their previous partners in the past found a comfort zone with each other's presence and intimacy. This anime is not like the other smut romance anime where the main motto is 'Let's Bang'. There were mainly two actual sex scenes and both with each other's consent. There was no inconclusive consent.  And overall I liked this anime.

Nisemonogatari

Jun 11, 2020

It literally means Fake story, I guess? Nisemonogatari is the second title of the Monogatari series, release wise of course. First let me say this one is entirely about Koyomi’s sisters, Araragi Karen and Araragi Tsukihi AKA the fire sisters. We can divide the whole anime into two parts, where the first one deals with Karen-chan and the second one deals with Tsukihi-chan. Bakemonogatari revealed next to nothing about Koyomi’s sisters except that they somewhat existed. But as this series is mostly about them, you’ll get to see them plenty. If you think you have seen enough pervert... See full review

The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior

Apr 18, 2020

Aren’t we all just a bunch of weirdoes... The name of this anime came to me through many videos called “Funny Anime Moments” and as such titles on YouTube. And it was on my hard disk for quite a long time until I finally decided to watch it. It was unexpectedly good. But I liked the characters more than the plot. Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou is the daily life story of the people living in the Kawai complex but also it is the story of a teenage boy pursuing his senpai to get closer to her (this is the boring part). The Kawai Complex is literally the carnival of weirdoes living in it. There... See full review

Only Yesterday

Apr 13, 2020

The movie wasn't even sad but I felt like crying anyway...   I won't say I have seen a great deal of anime, but this one was by far the most relatable to life.  Okajima Takea is a 27-year-old office lady who visits the countryside on her vacation. On the way to her journey and during her stay in the country, she seemed to recall her 10-year-old self again and again. And I can relate to them all. The struggle of having elder siblings, not doing well in the exam, and showing silly excuses for that, the conservativeness of a typical middle-class family, first love confession, first-period talk... Bakemonogatari

Dec 6, 2019

It literally means ghost-story Bakemonogatari had been on my 'want to watch' list for quite a long time. And then I decided to watch it for the bingo challenge: Fall 2019 and also there is a badge for finishing this anime( I thought I had to finish all the Monogatari titles to earn the badge. Phew!) How do I feel about Bakemonogatari? In a sentence, it's different, beautiful and I found it unique. Now let's talk in detail, Shall we? Story: At first( I mean for the first episode) everything seemed really confusing. But with time things started to settle in a pattern. Araragi Koyomi is a high school boy... See full review

Akira

Oct 18, 2019

Akira is one of the most famous anime movies of all time. I can't even count how many times it had been recommended to me. So, at last, I decided to watch it. But why am I a little bit disappointed? This movie is number 240 in the top 250 movie list on IMDb, which I think is a pretty big deal. The anime on my account was good, not great. The way I have heard its praises, the reality really didn't meet the goal. The first 15 minutes of the movie are so boring that I almost decided to just leave it. The animation is really bad. Well, it can be considerable since it was made in 1988. But still, it doesn't... See full review

Barakamon

Nov 5, 2018

It takes a village to raise a man.   So, this is the story of  Handa Seishu, who is a young handsome guy and a famous calligrapher. As a punishment of a certain incident, he was sent to a small island. Now, our MC here is a very unsocial guy. When he enters in a village where everyone knows eveyone, he starts to gather new experiences, the joy of being with people, the happiness of making new friends, and most importantly finding his ownself.  The characters in this anime are their own individuals. It will be a crime not to mention the name of Naru. Barakamon literally... See full review
