Howdy there!

Like yourself, I am a registered member of Anime-Planet for the soul purpose of what the title entails. Anime! :D

While I am still a newbie to the genre, being only into Anime for the past 9 months now at the time of writing, I can't begin to explain my appreciation for my new found love in Japanese Anime, Games, Manga and Music. There was once a time I was all Metal and nothing else! Welp! Not anymore! Dang catchy J-pop... I love you really! It has certainly been a mad adventure!

My journey in to Anime started with none other than the critically acclaimed Sword Art Online. Alot of people like it, alot hate it and oh so many love it! I am on the spectrum of love! Despite it's terrible pacing, I still love this anime and it was the anime that started my journey in this expansive genre. I have never felt the way I did when I finished that anime those 9 months ago, words can't comprehend nor possible explain what that "void" feels like. With my love for World of Warcraft, this was easily appealing to me and I am so glad I decided to sit down and watch it! I can't begin to wonder where I'd be today if I didn't take the time to chill out that one afternoon to ultimately just try this series and become attached to the media that today I love wholeheartedly! 

I have also started my own Anime collection which has grown substantially for the short time of 9 months that I began watching anime more commonly, SAO was not actually the first entry but upon watching along with many other shows in a short peroid across my winter term break, I decided to start a collection! I believe my first entry was Attack on Titan on DvD as I thoroughly enjoyed that enough to buy it but not enough to seek out more anime oddly enough...
I can't wait to summarise what I have watched and come to have loved and possibly own in my collection in just these extra 3 months to commemorate my first year of anime! 

As for myself, My online I.D is Holy, taken as a nickname from my main Horde character on World of Warcraft, Hôlydiver. However my name is Darren, my friends often refer to me as Daza, Yoroshiku! :)

Alas, a background of myself:
I am currently enrolled at college, engaged in an Live Events HND course where I complete coursework but also get volunteer opportunities to get involved with live events the likes of theatre productions and gigs with festivals and conferences recently added to the list. I work as a technician along with the 6 others in our team, I suppose you could say I specialise in sound amongst our group as it is the area I am most common with and most experienced in par 1 member of our group. I am also the supervisor of our team. It is quite the task but I do enjoy what I do regardless of the stressful atmosphere it is! Currently working towards my degree that I should have in 2017 with any luck!

Outside of my busy schedule as a student, I very much like my anime but I also enjoy playing video games, reading when I feel up to it, beginning my self taught Japanese language study (when I have time) and playing electric guitar. Playing music was my motive to get where I am today even though it is no longer the goal I seek but nevertheless a hobby I cherish. 

I currently also host my own YouTube channel in which I post videos of Collector's Edition unboxings of Anime and the odd gaming session or two! I primarily create videos for the fun of it and consistently expand on my video editing skills while sharing something interesting and meaningful! Feel free to check out my channel!

If I were to describe myself:
I believe I am a friendly person who is easy to approach and up for a laugh despite being along the lines of being shy but I assure you I am quite the talker when I get started hah! Along with that I am easy to get along with and am always around when times get tough, I would describe myself as a good listener and love to help and motivate people when they are down or simply help when I can!

If you are curious as to how I rate the shows I watch, I don't strictly have a complete system but I'll indulge you with my awkward rating ways! Luckily I have come across plenty of good shows over the bad.

To current date (144 Watched entries) there are only 4 shows I haven't enjoyed, 2 which I despise and 2 I feel just didn't click with me.

Didn't click: Skip Beat!, Yona of the Dawn
Despise: Amnesia, Soni-ani (Super Sonico)
Killed brain cells: Magical Girl Kokoro-chan School Days OVA

0 ~ Undecided.

0.5 ~ Someone... Save me...

1 ~ I'm a saint to have lasted so long...

1.5 ~ Okay... Welp, that's time I'm never getting back.

2 ~ Bad. Possibly a show that's rubbed me the wrong way.

2.5 ~ Below Meh. Unlikely to be watched again.

3 ~ Meh, not exactly great but not bad either. Usually an element depictable.

3.5 ~ Enjoyable.

4 ~ Pretty good!

4.5 ~ A smidge from perfect but a damn good show!

5 ~ Masterpiece! Can't wait to get round to it in the future once again!
