Mitsumei

Ivan, Lieutenant and spy in the service of the Russian army, must investigate the right arm of a mafia boss. But his target is a very close friend he made in the military academy and who he hasn't seen in ten years, Edward. Ivan can't help but wonder, how could such a compassionate man with a passion for art, become a part of the mafia? When they meet again, Edward seems to be as nice to Ivan as in the past and Ivan, facing a dilemma in his mission, is invited back to his home. But, the next day Edward's attitude completely changes and Ivan realizes that he's been kidnapped!

A short story about childhood friends that turn to enemies that turn to lovers. Their love is pure and adorable to see. The art is beautiful and so are the characters (I gave a 9 to the art because the hands are weird sometimes but it doesn't make a difference while reading, it just itches me personally haha). I was curious from the start on how they were going to pull this kind of story in only 3 chapters but they made it and it doesn't feel like the story is rushed. We are left with a few questions, like what they're gonna do from now on? Are they gonna hide the relationship forever? Cause it doesn't look like that would work 😅 I disliked the extras because they were too cheesy for me and the lines were too clichéed, but the main story is great.

Very nice story about a mafia leader and a solider in love^^

The art is generally very good, but I don't like the way the blush shading is done. It looks like bruises from getting punched directly under their eyeballs. And the kisses just look like two mannequins smashing their faces together. Not sensual at all. Almost the entirety of this manga is just a series of heart-to-heart conversations as these two ex-friends/enemies go through a rollercoaster of trust and deceit, conviction and uncertainty, including revelations about the past and their parents. Ivan's mother was a ballerina who had abandoned fem and seen fem as an inconvenience, leading to a distaste of all things ballet. Ed's father was a politician whose death from years ago may have ties to the case currently going on. Ivan's main character trait seems to be feir unwavering principles. And back when they had gone to school together, Ed's main character trait had been feir kindness. But does that still hold true or has the mafia changed fem? The monologues and ruminations in the conclusion are a lot less interesting than in the preceding parts.
