Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu

Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu

Sousuke Sagara is far from the average high school student - not only is he highly trained in military tactics, he puts his knowledge to use in every single applicable situation (and even those nonapplicable ones.) So, when confronted with high school, he tends to turn average high school experiences into off-the-wall adventures. Love letters become terrorist threats and field trips become commando operations; his survival depends on the watchful eye of his best friend and classmate, Kaname. Together, they may just make it out of high school alive...

School Rumble 2 and Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu are both dealing with uncommon school lifes. The protagonists in these anime have no idea about love, therefore many unforseen and funny things happen.

FMP: Fumoffu? is on the same level with School Rumble. If you watch any of these series you have to laugh nearly all the time, because of the magnificent comedy, which these anime are sharing.

If you take away the love-driven story line from School Rumble (as was done IMO in Nigakki more than in the first season) the humour based randomness that's left would be quite similar to FMP? Fumoffu.

My Bride is a Mermaid

My Bride is a Mermaid

While visiting his hometown, junior high school student Michishio Nagasumi's life was changed forever when he nearly drowned. Though he was saved by a mermaid named San, there’s a catch -- her family is part of a merfolk mafia, and they abide by a strict rule: If a mermaid is discovered by a man, either he or the mermaid must die. That is, unless the man marries into the family! Faced with such a decision, Nagasumi can only oblige their customs and become a "happy" newlywed. Now, with a new school year around the corner, Nagasumi must find a way to deal with his new bride, keep her true nature a secret, and most importantly, escape inevitable death at the hands of San's over-protective father’s gang!

Seto no Hanayome and School Rumble 2 are both great slapstick, school life, comedy anime. They share the same random kind of humor. You have to see these anime if you like this kind of comedy.

Seto no Hanayome has slightly more action, but School Rumble was in my opinion a bit funnier.

K-On!

K-On!

It's the first day of high school, and plenty of school clubs are doing their best to recruit new members, but for ditzy Yui, none of them seem to fit the bill. However, when she accidentally signs up to join the light music club, Yui begins a hilarious adventure to become a world class guitarist! There's just one problem: she's never played the guitar before in her life! Joined by bassist Mio, drummer Ritsu and keyboardist Tsumugi, Yui and the gang will juggle their studies with buying instruments, learning how to read music and even performing in the school festival, all in the hopes of someday becoming a successful band!

Both are comedy anime and are about school life. If you like one, you'll like the other. Both anime made me LOL. Both anime take place in school. The characters kinda stick together and go about their lifes as a group.

If you enjoyed School Rumble 2 then you may want to try Azumanga Daioh. Both series share a similarly wacky sense of humour and if you liked that, then both of these series may be for you.

Hatsukoi Limited

Hatsukoi Limited

Ayumi, Kei, Koyoi, Rika and Nao are five middle school friends whose hot topic of conversation is, as always, love. Ayumi dreams of having a boy confess to her and can't understand the idea that receiving unwanted confessions can be troublesome. She even believes that she will happily accept any guy who approaches her - that is, until she receives a love letter from Misao, a large, delinquent high school boy whose very presence makes small children cry! Not wanting to date him but too scared to reject him, Ayumi has no idea what to do, especially when Misao, now nicknamed Beast-kun by the girls, begins following her to and from school. To make matters worse, Ayumi then falls for Mamoru, a boy in her class who is Beast-kun's brother! With plenty of experiences in life and love left ahead, will the girls retain their naive beliefs, or is it time to shake off that brother complex and realize that appearances aren't everything?

If you liked School Rumble 2 then check out Hatsukoi Limited. Both series are set in the school environment and focus on the complicated love lives of the students. Both are essentially ensemble series and have a healthy dose of comedy about them, so if you like this, then try both of these series out.

The Dreaming Boy is a Realist

The Dreaming Boy is a Realist

Sajou Wataru, who is deeply in love with his beautiful classmate Natsukawa Aika, is continuing to approach her without getting discouraged while having dreams about their mutual love. However one day he woke up thinking "I am not really fit to be together with someone as good as her, huh..." Upon realizing this, Wataru started keeping an appropriate distance towards her, much to Aika's surprise. "Could it be that he hates me now...?" Did his intentions slip by her because she was getting impatient after arriving at the wrong conclusion!? This is the start of a romcom revolving around two people who just cant get their feelings across and both think their love is unrequited!
