Courage and guts are the key to victory. If you want to save the day with the most over the top robot action possible these are a perfect match for you. These show really bring the hotblood in the veiwer forward as you progress through them, if you loved one you will love the other.

0% chance can be changed to 100% if you are a hero, both series contain this message. Belief, courage and love are driving factors to victory along with being able to bend reality by just shouting at it and did i mention both series contain super robots

Both these series make use of all the melodramatic, exagerrated clichés that you'd expect of the anime genre. Although StarZinger doesn't have the trademark gigantic robots, its over-the-top gadgets and weaponry are in the same vein as those of GaoGaiGar. With noble, self-sacrifing heroes and dastardly villians (which usually last one episode each) that seek only to destroy the universe, both these titles embody the old-fashioned sci-fi shows that we all loved when we were 8 years old.

Gekigangar 3

Gekigangar 3

Ancient cave paintings left by the Super Paleolithic people tell of a great disaster befalling the people of Earth, when the evil Kyokka space empire will come to destroy all that we know and love. Humanity’s only chance lies in the prehistoric schematics for a super battle robot called Gekigangar 3! But even such a weapon is futile if there is not courage, love, and friendship among the brave humans fighting for peace and freedom! At least that’s what the crew of the Nadesico cruiser expect when they go to see the Gekigangar 3 marathon at the theatre…

The themes and contents of both Gekigangar 3 and GaoGaiGar are almost identical, except for one thing: Where GaoGaiGar takes itself seriously as a super-robo anime, Gekigangar 3 is a parody of that genre. If you enjoyed GaoGaiGar because you found hilarity in all the over-the-top technology, melodramatic fighting scene, and most of all the epitomisation of courage, valour, and bravery, then Gekigangar 3 will provide more of that in a parody setting. If you watched Gekigangar 3 first, you're sure to be entertained by its counterpart for the reasons just listed.

Khundes Khundes says...

GEAR Fighter Dendoh and GaoGaiGar use the same premise of an alien coming to Earth with ultra-advanced technology and a warning of an invasion, subsequently leading to a secret organization being assembled with the sole purpose of battling that invasion.

Both series feature elementary school kids are protagonists. GGG has Mamoru and Dendoh has Hokuto and Ginga.

The main difference in temrs of handling the plot lies in the way characters are handled, mostly. GaoGaiGar will introduce many characters but not spend as much time developing each of them individually, whereas Dendoh has fewer characters with more development. Both have merits, as GaoGaiGar is always one-upping the awesomeness factor, whereas Dendoh is more playing on growth and less on over the top awesomeness, though both series do feature some of both raw awesomeness and growth.

Also, both have pretty memorable stock footage.

Broots

Broots

The original six-minute "pilot" featured a slightly different version of Might Orbots called Broots (pronounced "Brutes"). Rob and Ono looked similar to their 'finished' selves, though definitively more late 70s-like. The Orbots, while having the same names as in the finished product, are subtly different, and obviously unfinished. Even their combined form aka "Super-Broots" would go through some more developmental evolution before becoming Mighty Orbots.
