Story: This series was made prematurely. It should have waited longer until it had more content to work with. It started off well but ended disappointly. I will come out and say that I am a fan of the manga and I was sad to see that it turned out like this. I liked the idea but it just didn't come through. It wasn't awful though and it was fun. I would like a second season but, with the way it ended, I doubt it. As a whole, the series is ok. Just ok.

Animation: I really liked the animation. I liked the character designs and the backgrounds. It was colorful and vibrant but dark and sinister when it needed to be. I enjoyed it for the most part.

Sound: Nice. I do remember the opening, endings and some of the soundtrack pieces. I really enjoyed the voice actors as well.

Characters: Like the plot. The character's development was shaky. It was confusing and it needed more time.

Overall: Disappointing but I think it was just average. Sad because I liked the concept.

I absolutely loved this anime. The main character (my husband) is absolutely fabulous. Its so amazing because there's comedy, fighting, drama, great story, and relatable characters. Its just the right balance for light-hearted fun and interesting story.

This will contain some spoilers, so be prepared!

I dont understand the hype. Blue Exorcist is a pretty popular anime, some even include it in their favorites.

Let me start with the positives:

- the story evolves well enough and they dont have too many fillers, also the lenght is good

- the characters are not bad, but dont expect to get too attached to any of them

- the fight scenes look pretty good, mostly thanks to the blue flames

-the animation is really well done

- the characters are not just black and white, all of them have their reasons, even if theyre not considered a positive character

- enough action to stay fun all through

And now we start with the problems:

1. No originality at all. Lets see, we have a pair of brothers, one of them is half demon and the other is pure blood(not counting the last few episodes). The half demon brother has a sword that keeps his immense power in check, because his power can take him over and cause him to rampage and kill everyone. One word: Inuyasha, if the manga writer says he didnt get his inspiration from inuyasha, he is lying.

2. Sometimes the story tries to do some twists, but they turn out really stupid. BIG SPOILER

If Satan has his reason for what he is doing and his reason are not even all taht bad then why does he laugh like a maniac when he kills or possesses someone. If they turned the whole Satan is love or what the hell arc in an elaborate plan from the king of the underworld to create him perfect vessels, I would consider the story good. But no. He actually did mean to do good(ish). Also we have a demon that kills people without the slightest thought and that idiot mother of them actually feels sorry for him because he is lonely?! Come on!

Grey character is one thing, but Satan is just the root of all evil, he massacres people and they actually give him a reason to do so?I dont know whether to laugh or cry.

Story: besides everything I told you, I have to note that the story is pretty weak. It can be all explained in a few sentences. Watch FMA Brotherhood and learn what a STORY is!!! 4/10

Animation: good, enough said. 8.5/10

Characters: I already said that the charcaters are not too memorable. Yukio is just weak, Rin is pretty good, Izumo is annoying, same goes for Suguro. The best characters are Mephisto, Kuro and Shirou and they are just episodeic characters with barely anything to do at all. 6/10

I have watched the whole series expectiong something big. It seemed pretty weak at first, continued the same way and the ending was also weak. No interesting plot twists, we didint even get a nice boss-fight.

Blue Exorcist is not bad, just weak, absolutely nothing special. Its a B series with some action, good when you dont have anything to do in your spare time.

Overall watchable, overhyped, but dont get your hopes up  6/10

I'm really NOT into badass priests and fighting nuns, so at first, I didn't want anything to do with this anime. I kept rolling my eyes whenever I saw the words “exorcists” or “Satan’s son”. How did I end up marathoning Ao no Exorcist in a matter of a few days? It was somewhat recent, I read interesting reviews about it, and the protagonist looked so damn good. I regret nothing.

Story 6/10
As you might have guessed, I was not impressed by the overall theme of exorcism. Chanting the bible to fight off demons remains pretty lame. However, I think they did bring something else to the genre. I liked the part where they join a secret school in their school, and we get to see what they have to learn - very Harry Potter style, but more off-the-wall, because it's an anime. They managed to wrap the story in the end, and they made it quite dramatic, but you can feel that's a deviation from the manga it's based on.

Animation 9/10
I am no expert on art, but I definitely enjoyed the look of this series. I found the drawings appealing from the start, and that's actually what convinced me to give the series a try. You've got pretty eyes, pretty backgrounds and cool flames. The characters are good looking, and so are the fight scenes. Even the openings and endings are nice to watch. Also, kudos for having Rin wear a bobby pin and actually look cool with it!

Characters 7/10
There is a fun balance of power between two very different twin brothers. The school principal is a true eccentric. And there is eventually one kickass female. All in all, I was pleased with the ensemble cast. Each character has qualities and flaws, which makes them likeable. They are at times surprising and they prove themselves useful. My only regret is that the anime was too short to let us see where these characters are really going and how the relationships develop further.

In the end, this is an ordinary anime, but the attention paid to details makes it good, and highly watchable. It had been a long time since I last found an anime that didn't bore me after a couple episodes. Somehow, this one did the trick, and it even got me to write a review about it! Bottom line, I recommand this series to anyone who liked Naruto, FMA, Fairy Tail and the likes. It has this "boy tries hard to succeed in a weird world" vibe about it, and some of the silly humor.

THIS REVIEW DOES NOT PICK FAVORITES IT IS WRITTEN ON PURE FACT FROM WHAT I'VE WATCHED AND IS COMPLETLEY UN BIAST. WRITTEN ON FACTS FOR YOU TO BUILD YOUR OWN OPINION ON THE SHOW.

Blue exorcist all together is a show i recomend you take your time to check out. It has an interesting take on demons and excorcism with a very scifi feel to it. the animation is beautiful and the charecters are decently developed and interesting although some of them are very plain, but atleast the character desighns are unique and creative. the show has a nice strong beginning. during the middle of the series the story becomes a bit dry with little plot which could have worked if interesting characters could have livend up the slower situations. Good news howerver is that it ends strong with good intensity and the show itself is addicting. making you want to watch what happens next on rin's journey. The setting is interesting imaginative and creative for people looking for somethng like a show about highschool lives but with a twist.contains a small amount of fanservice.

recomened for people who are looking for a spooky feel but not something to gorry and creepy. at first glance this series might seem very intense based on the main character being the son of satin but the  show itself is actually more friends orientated. i love the animation for this show i really like the feel and colour scheme of it and it's soundtrack is wonderful and inticing, depicting each scene perfectly. the creator's unique take and ideas are shown evident in show and are done with a good transition.alot of questions on how things work and info for fans are left unawnsered.some characters are well doveloped and likable while others are left quite vague or have confusing personality characteristics that seem to change without being decided.
