Funnily enough, your reason for watching 5 Centimeters Per Second is exactly the same as mine! After I watched Clannad I wanted to watch something else that would also be emotional and I was told 5cm/s would make me cry, but was sadly disappointed. If I'm honest, I really wish I could enjoy 5cm/s because in every other aspect, from the visuals to the sound and that song near the end, it was perfect, but it fell far too short in the most important part, the story and characters.
Still, I'm glad that somebody agrees with me and I'm not alone in my opinion of the film.

You and me bud ^.^, the only good thing is the video, it´s hilarious, a litlle bit gay, but at same time also straight, don´t you think ?
If you realy like J-rock go listen to full version of the Black Lagoon opening, you´ll love it.
And if hate K-pop, it means you hate the Oppa Gangnam Style song of PSY
