Hello everyone.
I will never claim to be a hardcore anime fan. That would be a lie. Am I a casual? At times I have been. I do my best to try different shows along with my other hobbies.
We all have our subjective tastes. I review shows with a mix of what I like (very, very subjective) and I always strive to keep some objectivity in there. With movies you have people who say "Marvel films are not cinema" or "Michael Bay is crap". I think some Marvel is bad, while some is great. The same with Michael Bay.
I also think things exists in different classes.
You can have superb anime or film aiming for a more serious artistry approach. That can have a 10/10 just like a horror anime that is badass can have a 10/10. Yes, that is how this works in my world. Critics all have subjective tastes and we enter into our social contracts to come to a consensus.
So, if you see me loving a show you hate or hating on a show you love, know that I want you to be happy and enjoy your anime, I am here to share my thoughts and engage respectfully. I see reviews out there saying things like "retard shows" or "simple-minded people like this" and thats an elitist view that I find ridiculous and offputting. I still want those like that to enjoy what anime they can though, I just think it is always important to keep perspective in mind and the fact that there are 16+ different baseline personalities for how we view, analyze, and interact with our world (MBTI).

thank you so much for the recommendations, i've already watched future diary and i loved it. i don't understand why people hate the main character, any 14-year-old would react to his surroundings like that if they were put in the given situation, i don't think an OP, fearless character would fit the role. but yeah, amazing series, the art was great and not to mention the concept of the anime. if you liked future diary then i strongly recommend the promised neverland, it came out this last winter and it has the same type of psychological themes that makes your brain go crazy. it isn't bloody the same way as future diary but it is a horror after all. the concept is great too and it has an amazing soundtrack and decent animation. it has no fillers since it's only 12 episodes. i hope you'd find interest in watching it once you have time. my favorite genre is romance or horror so future diary was a perfect fit for me :)
i'm 15 but i love horror and creepy stuff so don't worry about that. i am not really a fan of ecchi so i won't watch 18+ anyways. i actually watched ninja scroll and i really enjoyed it even though it has some nudity :( i love ancient japanese themes with samurais and ninjas so loved it apart from the nudity. it was very bloody, people died from left and right but i never get scared or have nightmares.
yeah i looove studio ghibli, its my childhood movies. my fav is the grave of the fireflies, it made me cry so much. what is your fav ghibli movie? i've watched over half of all the ghibli movies that exists i think, i love princess mononoke <3
hi! i don't have a lot of friends in real life who likes anime so could you suggest some anime series? also happy birthday, you turned 30 right? its cool that you still watch anime even though you're an adult, i wanna continue until i die! :) <3
