I'm glad to hear you are doing well. Working at a craft store sounds really cool. I can imagine that it might give you all sorts of ideas for creative projects. Anything in particular you are working on at the moment? And I'm a little jealous, I'd love to have a pet as well...but with work etc. I don't really have the time. How did you end up adopting them?
My mother is doing okay I'd say. Some days are better some are worse. The therapy is going well all things considered, but it still takes a toll on her body of course. But now spring is slowly coming and she is making plans for the year. Around June we are going to go on holiday in Greece, I think that will be good. All in all...it's a very emotional time.
As for me, work is really a lot right now. New teachers in Germany have a sort of two year trial, again with exams and seminars and it's an insane amount of workload. And please believe me, it's not just me being dramatic xD On average one third is usually giving up and really I can see why. But I'm trying my best and once the trial is over things will hopefully get better.
True self-publishing is probably pretty difficult. No idea how it is in the US, but here authors often go on tour to promote their books. But you need funding etc... definitely not easy and highly dependent on the market.
If you don't know what to do with your life that's all right. I think it's okay to drift. Modern society is very focused on achievement. And of course we all want to keep up, because we don't want to fail. But there are many possible routes to take, it is only natural that the way does not seem obvious from the get go. And even if you have chosen one route, later it might be time to take a torn and walk a different way. Ah, oh well I am also still searching myself. Honestly I really wish I'd practice what I preach more often xD

I'm still working on my translations. I don't have that much to show but I feel I am getting better at it. Right now it feels like something I want to pursue. Won't be easy, but we'll see. I totally get that Japanese might make you feel stressed. It is better to focus on things that relax you. Maybe you'll pick it up again in the future and if not that is okay too.

I know we don't know that much about each other, but idk I just feel if we met we might get along quite well. A TON of stuff has happened to me since we last spoke. I got a puppy last April, went through some health scares & a medical emergency in the past several months, and went through a period where I just wasn't into anime as much anymore, to name some examples.
