Yuu MIYASHITA

Yuu Miyashita is an illustrator, animator, composer and singer who started his music career as an utaite around August 2008. One of his most viral hits being his cover of NILFRUITS' WOZWALD which released May 5, 2019. He has since covered a variety of Vocaloid songs and has started to compose his own music for which he also directed and animated the music videos. His albums and some of his early utaite feature his own illustrations. He frequently collaborates with Vocaloid producers like jon-YAKITORY and seeeeeeecun with whom he formed the band Doctrine Doctrine to release the album Darlington.

Employing significant thought and effort, Miyashita dons an unconventional singing style, incorporating whispers, screams, spoken lines, vocal distortion, varied breathing and sharp or low pitches and other techniques in song. The shoegaze genre is a heavy influence in his early singing style which has since evolved to his more elaborate modern style but there are still remnants of the genre in his vocal mixing method. Among shoegaze, Miyashita also prefers to listen to BGM style music and game soundtracks despite most of his popular utaite being covers of high energy songs.
