Wails of the Bound: β

Now that Takana and Karasuma have finally found happiness together, Shingo Utou is no longer needed as Karasuma's caretaker. When he meets Sumito Sasabe, a new hire at his company who moonlights as a host in the evenings, he realizes that this young omega might need him more than Karasuma ever did. With a traumatic past, an open dislike of betas, and a stubborn streak that keeps him from asking for help when he needs it; Sasabe makes it especially difficult for Utou to protect him from the toxic work culture that formerly turned Karasuma into the company's private sex toy. Can these two men find common ground and accept their growing feelings for each other before Sasabe becomes Karasuma's unfortunate replacement?

Please be mindful of the following trigger warning: it includes sexual assault, sexual harassment, dubious consensual, and rape. The sequel even demonstrates how harsh the view of an omega is in society and how much lifelong trauma it causes for its victims. It also seems that it’s more complicated and filled with heavy drama. Sumi is an omega who recently graduated and has an immense hatred towards betas. As a result of being violently gang raped and betrayed by his beta friend. However, he was assigned to Utou, a beta, who was promoted as the new manager of the sales second department and expressed inferiority towards alphas. It is heavenly emphasize that omegas are severely oppressed, but it's even worse for Sumi since his suppressant didn't work well for him. However, Utou crossed the line and was the one who first initiated the "relationship" (i.e., helping Sumi find relief from his heat cycle). Despite Sumi's refusal because he was traumatized, he eventually relied, even trusted and fell in love with Utou, but Utou's mixed signals and ending the "relationship" made Sumi confused and rejected his confession. They did not have any proper communication between them and they ended up in the situations that made them suffer. Of course, Sumi's bond with Shitori was a rushed and impulsive decision, but he was driven by the hardship he went through; severe strong heat, Karasuma's replacement in the company, sexual assualts. In other words, he wishes to be free of the agonizing tormenting cycle. As I stated in the prequel, the company is encouraging it. So, a massive hate for the director, Hio, for exploiting the omegas and for the shitty working environment he creates. It's frustrating and I'm fed up with Utou's indecivesness. I understand and it's valid that he felt inferior towards alphas and it's tough to deal with, but I lost count of how many times he was given an opportunity but didn't take it. I actually love the part that even though there's so much at stake for Sumi being in a beta-omega relationship, he's willing to fight for their relationship, even risking his life span for Utou. Regraless the angsty rollercoaster ride, I'm so happy that they get their happy ending with their kids.
