Can we all just collectively agree how amazing the OP is? Yes? Yes.
Whooooooooaaaaaaaaa. And the plot thickens. Seriously, never mind being different species, since they are all very human-y, but how does she have sex with people twice her size?
Just so you know, bullies don't always have to laugh when they do something mean. Sometimes they just glare without saying anything.
I'm going to keep saying it, but I love awkward Legosi. :D I really like the difference between their personalities, but the enormous size difference is still bothering me, and it will continue to bother me. At least she finally acknowledges it, too. That being said, the date was probably my favourite part of the anime so far. It was cute and funny, and we got to see more sides of the characters again.

Episode 6:

Aoba's a real one. We all need more bald eagle friends in our lives.

6 - Animal or Predator

Basically me @ this episode. Legosi's struggle to deal with his identity as a natural predator around those who accept those sides of themselves is definitely one of the most compelling plotsides I've seen in anime. And there's no better way to fill up that vial of unrest than to be led right into the darkest parts of society where the exact kind of behavior legggosi wants to avoid, is encouraged. And of course somehow, he still hangs with tony the tiger ready to throw hands at the first sight of debauchery. Why doesn't he just split?

Frickin dude is awful, even not in the carnivore sense, just in the being a shit person sense.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot eagles were carnivores too. Weird of me.

Ah, I really, REALLY resonate with how they use carnivore instincts being masked by romance to portray feelings that may be mistaken. That's something I've actually dealt with in life. Not exactly that, of course, but mistaking feelings of loneliness and desire to escape it with romantic attraction, or curiosity to the same. Stuff like that is hard to deal with when you aren't experienced, so I feel legosi's pain fiercely. It's hard to tell exactly how you feel and what exactly you're feeling for someone in situations like these.

I like the old panda. A dose of realism that isn't laced with evil is exactly what may help legosi to grow here.
This show only gets better eh.

Episode 7:
Fucking hell, I am on-point with the food questions. I just pointed out how weird them eating eggs was two weeks ago, and now we get the segment at the start of this episode about the chicken girl and her eggs to provide some perspective. It still seems weird to me, but at least they tried to address it.

On another note... for being the star of the drama club, Louis is a terrible fucking liar, at the very least when it comes to Haru. All those really obvious extra things that he didn't need to say, that Legosi picked up on immediately even if he was trying to ignore it. But now shit's gonna get real between them, it'll be interesting to see how this goes down, especially with Legosi struggling to control his instincts lately... And that whole thing with Louis shedding his antlers and having to get fakes has to be there as more than just an excuse for him and Haru getting close, it's gotta come back around to humble him.

Also, are you telling me the most popular dude in school disappeared for 10 days waiting for his fake antlers and there were no questions about that? wtf?

Alright, it wasn't Haru, but I knew someone had to find the playbunny magazine. Man, that poor doggo boy, so confused...

Still loving this show.

That egg thing ... that was weird. That was even weirder than the fingers last episode. But it was funny. That's one dedicated chicken.
Whoa. So deer boi is not a one time bang like the others? Damn, that could turn ugly in the future. I really liked the part following Haru's thoughts. She really is such a tragic character. And so is Louis. And Legosi. They are all so lonely.
Legosi/Louis is the best ship. You can't change my mind.
Juno seems cool, though. Legosi, you doofus. :D
That porn mag scene shouldn't have been that hilarious. :DD
Aww shiiiiiiiiit. There it is.

This show is amazing! I just got caught up and WOW! I don't even know what to say other than I wish it were over already so I could binge watch the whole thing!!! Is this going to be 12 episodes? I kind of hope it'll be more.

IDK, I don't think that the egg thing is all that weird. As a society that drinks cow boob juice and eats chicken periods on the regular I don't see why the animals in this show doing it makes things weird. I think it's kind of interesting that animals who can produce eggs have the ability to do that, hell if I could pop out and egg every day and sell it for money I probably would, why not lol. I wonder if there are other animals that do the same thing. Like maybe cows who sell their milk? Idk tho they seems to drink only soy milk. Is it just chicken eggs? What about ducks and geese and quail? I have questions.

As far as Louis saying too much to Legosi about Haru, it doesn't seem that out of character for him to do so. After all the things they've been through thus far Louis may have gotten a little more comfortable around Legosi than he would be with the other students, so he said a little too much. In that same scene he also got so lost in his own thoughts about why Legosi wanted to see Haru that he didn't notice Legosi getting close to him and sniffing him until the last second. If his brian was mulling over that information like that the entire time it's likely his mouth wasn't as filtered as it would have been usually.

Idk how I feel about Louis honestly. I don't really trust him.

@Starletka IDK if Legosi/Louis is a ship I can get behind.....but...I mean...I'd still watch it. XD

I love our main character and the super cute af bunny he's in love with but...i don't even know why...but one of my favorite characters is the Ostrich. Is he an ostrich? The tall greenish bird guy? He's so expressive XD .....Wait...I just googled to check....he's a Peafowl?! Have they never seen a Peafowl? He's way too big! XD Makes sense why he's green tho.

07:

That cold opening.............I was giggling pretty hard. GOgogogogo chickens! Doesn't the author Paku wear like a chicken head? AUTHOR SELF-INSERT! Also, love how they get the little animal mannerisms and details in there, like how they even move their heads like real birds. =D

Also that Haru 2D dream sequence was one of the most fucking gorgeous animated sequences I've ever seen:
qa6Llxm.png
Orange proving not only do they have the chops to do awesome 3D, but 2D stuff as well. Jesus, this reminds me of something from 3-gatsu lion. They're all pretty deeply complex yet flawed characters which makes them so damn human.

Seems like the relationship between Louis and Haru is beyond mere fuck buds. Although social status/reputation is separating the two, this is just going to hurt Haru badly that he is keeping his distance like that. Like here's the thing, I don't believe Louis deserves Haru at all, he mentions to her face he has a bride and that's just cruel and kind of scummy. You think Haru's okay with that? Hell no, she's not. He's trying to have his cake and eating it too. Louis isn't being particularly honest here that he was acting a bit jealous of Legosi and he doesn't really have any right to be. You can't always keep up a facade with the people around you just to obsessively hold onto an image. He is really just hiding his insecurities under a mask.

The porn mag strikes back!

That said, Legosi's face at the end was genuinely terrifying and concerning:
i2T7vSq.png

I don't think she wants to see THAT kind of face when you confess. Is it love or a desire to eat her? It seemed like the latter here. Such a thorny bramble of dynamics between the characters here. Love all of this.

I think the difference here is that when we do it, we're consuming something from a creature that is fundamentally different from us on many, many levels. It's weird when they do it because their differences are much less fundamental in this series, in a sense much more akin to ethnic differences. It goes a little beyond that, but it's much much closer. It would basically be like eating some woman's period knowing it came from a student somewhere in your school. It does strike me as strange though that the soy milk implies milk from other animals is a no-no, but eggs are fine...

Episode 7:

Well, I don't know what the rest of you guys are talking about, I still think Louis is pretty hot. Like, if he weren't a deer, then there's a pretty good chance I might have gone gay for him at some point.

That said, I'm really so much in love with the world this series has set up for us. That opening skit with the chicken was so cute and funny, and it also had the added bonus of making this setting a lot bigger than it already was. There's a whole other way of doing things outside the school, but even when we're confined on campus grounds, it's clear the entire school's already a jungle all on its own. I love it. I want to live in this world already.

And then, you have the characters, who all behave a certain way, because that's just who they are, mentally and physically. It's obvious a lot of thought and care were put into the creation of this world and these characters, and I have so much respect for the effort. Just an A+ venture all around.

A big, Fat, "Ahhhhh shit , here we fucking go ladies and gentlemen!" is what I'm feeling at the end of this episode. I'm loving it!

Hormones, amirite?

Hard agree. I'm really in love with how varied the animation styles are. There's the CGI for the episodes, the hand-drawn goodness for the dream/nightmare-esque scenes, and the puppets once the songs hit.

Did we get another new ED this week? I don't recall seeing a version of the ED with Legosi and himself yet, but I could be wrong about this. Man, tracking the EDs has been fun.

08:

Juno seems a bit more dangerous and assertive than I thought throwing her strength around like that. Not gonna lie, this made her more interesting to me than just being some moe blob. Like all these characters, ALL OF THEM are complicated beings. Hot damn, she really man handled Louis there:
nPdItp0.png

That was a pretty kinky thing to say though, Louis-senpai. Is Louis secretly an M?

Also, I have never felt so fucking heartbroken at the exact moment Haru was screaming out Louis's name in the dark when the lights went out while she was holding Legosi. Holy shit, that must have hurt Legosi's feelings so damn bad, that anger is going to be boiling SO HARD in him after that incident.

THE LOVE TRIANGLE INTENSIFIES DUN DUN DUN, Haru better watch out man.........

For real though, the fact
he's withholding the incident that he was the one who harmed Haru is going to come back to bite him in the ass majorly later. Dirty laundry has a way of coming up in unexpected ways.

Legosi's habit of holding his feelings in, in general, will come back to bite him later on. He's a carnivore who needs to let loose sometimes, but he does the opposite thing and avoids conflict as much as he can. Maybe that's what Louis meant when he said Legosi was someone Juno couldn't just handle easily. Legosi's a walking bundle of nerves, all wrapped up tightly in the body of a big, bad wolf. Nobody can tell what he's thinking, so it makes him all the more dangerous, especially since he can snap at any given moment. Maybe that time's coming closer than we expected, now that he knows Haru and Louis are getting it on during lunch. And now that Juno's in the equation, things could only go downhill from there. Although I'm still not sure if she's a red herring or if she'll have some bigger role to play after all, instead of being the distraction.

How funny would it be if she reported her findings to Louis, going all, "oh I see what you mean about Legosi now, it's because he likes that rabbit, huh?" And then Louis will go, "what rabbit what the FUCK"

Episode 8:
uc

Whoever said that, I blame you for whatever awful shit is about to happen. You just had to go and jinx it didn't you?

Legosi is getting legit terrifying. Not only is he saying more creepy shit and giving more creepy looks, but that ending... you know inside he has to be boiling, but anyone watching him without the special insight granted to us as an audience would never be able to tell. He's getting some serious serial killer vibes, and while part of me wants to see him be okay, another part wants to see him just fucking lose it and watch the darkest timeline this show can possibly follow, and I'm honestly not sure which way I'd like more. Regardless, he has to find a way to be more honest with himself and others, or it's all going to come raging out in a way that will not end well for anybody (except of course the audience).

Damn Juno, you're rather conniving gurl. Where Legosi is the lone wolf, Juno is the cunning, sneaky wolf. The real question is, which one will be the big bad wolf? Either way, this girl is definitely gonna cause trouble in one way or another...

I like how the nocturnal animals (basically all carnivores unsurprisingly) were quick to form up and protect their classmates who couldn't see in the dark. That was nice :o

There's something about this mayor... idk man, that seems way too obvious, especially considering the parallels we could draw to a certain something else... it would be terribly disappointing to see it go the same way as that, could be interesting to see it take that route without subverting it the same way, but I think the best thing would be to just not and do something totally different... at most maybe a little "ha, you thought we were gonna copy them for a second didn't ya?" moment.

Is the next episode here yet? Pretty please?

Ouchie. I guess juno's story will go on for longer than a gag, she may be becoming really interesting, despite being so weird. Really is that confident though. Damn. Feels weird to think she was presented as timid before. Though i sincerely doubt she's going to become the beastar. Something about her whole character just screams "problem causer".
