Probably my favourite character from this series. In her initial appearance, she helps a lost Tatsumi, and you get the impression she's just an Empire soldier who doesn't know the truth of its corruption, but still remains equitable towards its citizens. Shortly after this, her more spiteful and sadistic side is shown against Night Raid, who she thinks are nothing more than indiscriminate assassins. It'd be easy to interpret this as a reveal of her true nature, with her depiction prior to this being nothing more than a facade. In reality, it's revealed that it wasn't a facade at all, and she is genuinely friendly towards those she believes to be innocent. She gets along with the other Jaegers, and plays with some children during her time off, since she doesn't see them as evil.
She isn't really in the right, of course, and is ignorant of the Empire's inner corruption. Being raised and conditioned into supporting them from birth made her support them blindly. Her father and mentors were killed by revolutionaries, furthering her grudge towards them. Seryu ends up as someone with an uncompromising view of the factions and criminality of the world, and I think she serves as a good example of the somewhat more nuanced circumstances those aligned with the Empire can have. Keep in mind many antagonists in this series are psychotic and horrible to everyone, without consideration for whether or not they're actually an enemy.
All her fights are fantastic and enjoyable to watch, and her design is cute enough as well. She more or less carries most scenes she's in. Koro is probably one of the more memorable teigus as well.

At one end I feel bad at another shes an delusional hypocrite and deserved her death.

Unpopular opinion, but I'm a Seryu fan boy, hate me all you want for it, heehe. The hate she gets is biased just because she took out Sheele.
