Well, this anime didn't attract me much, so the possibility that I will see the next season is really low! But it had a funny story and some places made me laugh. The animation didn't have a special definition and the characters weren't that cute and the music and voice acting weren't bad... overall it wasn't a bad anime.

The basis of the story is quite intresting but the execution is a total mess. It gets very confusing by 3rd episode itself but by the time you reach to the end, it gets worse "on one side of the world" ;)

Animation is quite horrible while the character style and other things are quite nice. Horrible job in execution of a quite complex storyline

Its like author wanted sci-fi and isekai in one thing, and just crumpled it together

Mr. Sasaki is single middle-aged salaryman with rather mundane life. He would like to buy a pet, but he doesn’t have much money to buy a dog or a cat. However, while he is visiting a pet shop, he hears a voice of little bird (java sparrow) with a star on its chest. He finds the bird very adorable and buys it. While Sasaki is talking to the little fellow, after he brings it home, the bird starts to talk back! An adventure begins for Sasaki and Pii-chan little bird, who is sage reincarnated from another world.

This is somewhat unique isekai experience, while the series does have many common isekai tropes. It mixes into the story bunch of other stuff making it wilder. It is more like 3-in-1 story [1]. It opts for one long first episode, which tries to establish as much as possible. I really liked the series despite the fact that around the middle it does become somewhat less exciting, until the finale. I think mainly the fact the story settles down and nothing new and crazy is no longer introduced. Main character while he becomes powerful, he tends to solve problems with his communication skills and knowledge of business (the power of working business man TM) Do not worry there are still plentiful action scenes. It has slight slow-life element to it too.

It is important to point out this is the type of isekai, where the main character can freely travel between our and another world. Surprisingly a lot of interesting things do happen in our world. Main character has to deal with various issues not only in another world, but in this one as well. The series has overarching story or rather overarching progression. The episodes move the world and to lesser extent characters forward.

I have to say this was fun and interesting anime. What I personally enjoyed the most was its humour and fun interactions between the characters. You should definitely check it out. I don’t want to go into much details as it would be spoiler, but if you don’t mind anyway check the spoiler section. It has some surprising moments [2][3]. At this moment I don’t know if the series has lasting power only time will tell, but as one-time seasonal watch it is one of very few anime series I did watch mostly regularly. One last thing, the series ends on open end and teases with some future development [4] so one can look forward for future episodes.

Spoilers

[1] Following types of the story:

  1. The other world aka isekai
  2. Superpowers exist in our world including government organizations dealing with such people
  3. Magical girl(s) are real [2].

[2] Magical girl is killing people with magical powers! This part is really wild.

[3] Including the fact that his new female coworker in supernatural agency is sixteen years old. I think this is made as a joke to make fun of the anime/manga tropes at least that is the way I interpreted this part.

[4] Hope they finally do something with the neighbours’ girl and she becomes more active character in the series.

A refreshingly different hero that mainly uses his interlect to rise. Unfortunately the story gets a bit too diffuse towards the end of the season. Nonetheless this is a good anime for everyone that like OP MCs that don't show off but act with intelligence and wisom.

I liked the concept of this anime, I just believe they tried to do too much at the same time.  The characters are pretty good, and the travelling between two different dimensions makes the story better, but they have way too much happening at once.  You have the reincarnation of the powerful magic user as a bird who makes a pact with the MC, you have the original job of the MC, you have the moving between dimensions to a different world, you have the agency, you have the magic girls, you have the evil organization, you have the goal of the MC of living a comfortable life by making money, you have the neighbor girl who is a more of a mystery at this point, you have the MC learning magic, thus too much going on all at once.  I like the ideas, but it is too disjointed to have a good flow to this anime.  With so much going on you have very little explantion as to the why/where/how kind of questions.. they are glossed over.  I believe a more streamlined approach would have been better or a longer season to allow for a better flow.  I like the characters, but there is only backstory for the MC and the bird, the animations are pretty good, the voice acting is well done, and the highlight of the anime for me is the relationship between the reincarnated magic user and the MC and the travelling to the other world.  There is not much story development because the story is cluttered with so many ideas/concepts/subplots, and the character development is limited to the MC even though there is a host of characters due to the same cause.  Overall it is a fun watch, and maybe the 2nd season which is already slated will help steamline the story, if that is possible.  This anime is suitable for all ages, just might be confusing to some.  Enjoy!
