Both anime series are (very loosely) based on the lives of the historical American folk song composer Stephen Foster and his wife Jane "Jeanie" McDowell.
Shouko Azuma is a high school girl living in Chiba prefecture. When worrying about her future and college at a riverbank, her phone strap becomes hot with a mysterious light, forcing her to drop it and the cell phone into the water. From where the phone fell, a light from the river sucks her in, and she is sucked into the world of the classic story, Tenpou Suidoken. There, she meets the handsome Sasagawa no Shigezou.
White Fang is born on the plains of Alaska to a wolf father and a half-wolf, half-dog mother. One day he and his mother run into an Alaskan inuit boy Mit-sah, who has long dreamed of a dog of his own, and by a marvellous twist of fate, the wolves are taken in by him and his father. But life in Alaska is harsh for humans and wolves alike, and as winter comes, hardships lie in waiting for White Fang and Mit-sah. Facing the extreme coldness of their habitat and that of humans' greedy hearts, the two journey towards what they hope to be a happier environment.

Follows Hiyori Suzumi, a high school girl who becomes a manager-in-training for the high school idol unit LIP×LIP. Hiyori left her hometown to pursue her passion, track and field, by enrolling in Tokyo's Sakuragaoka High School. Looking for a part-time job in Tokyo, she ended up working as an apprentice manager for her classmates (and LIP×LIP members) Yuujirou Someya and Aizou Shibasaki. The story revolves around the coming-of-age of Hiyori (as she juggles school, extracurricular life, and managing) and LIP×LIP (as they shine on stage).
